Democrats’ Lofty Goals Fizzle Before Elections
- By Eagle Forum
In true D.C. dysfunctional fashion, liberal plans to pigeon-hole conservatives into taking tough votes before the November elections are falling apart. The Democrat-controlled House and Senate have been back in Washington, D.C. for almost three weeks and have nothing to show for it. Promises of bills that will fund COVID (even though President Biden just announced the pandemic is over), keep the government afloat (can you say bloated continuing funding resolution?), shovel even more money to the war in Ukraine, and codify same-sex marriage (the ironically named Respect for Marriage Act) have yet to move. With only ten days left until October recess, Democrats are scrambling to wrap up any of these issues.

Understanding the Hispanic Vote: Leaders Chime in on Republican Shift
- By Marjorie Jackson - The Washington Stand
“Every year, one million Hispanic youth turn 18 and become eligible to vote. Since 2016 voter registration numbers among Hispanic Americans have swelled 24% compared to 9% for all other ethnic groups in America. Recently, we’ve seen evidence that Hispanic Americans, whether they be Mexicans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans, Puerto Ricans, etc., are changing their voting behavior, and leaving the Democratic Party in favor of the Republican Party.”
According to FRC Action Director Matt Carpenter, the numbers don’t lie. Hispanic population growth and voter registration numbers are skyrocketing in the United States. At last week’s Pray Vote Stand Summit, Carpenter hosted a panel titled, “Faith, Politics, and the Hispanic Realignment.” Three leaders in the Hispanic Republican movement joined him on stage to unpack the Latin American vote and the recent red wave among Hispanics. Their conclusion? In the words of one panelist, “I believe that Hispanics are going to be the backbone of saving this country — and we need to save this country.”

'My Blood Still Boils': Father Recalls School's Secret Attempt to Transition Daughter
- By Marjorie Jackson - The Washington Stand
At the beginning of this year, Wendell Perez got a call that no father ever wants to receive — his elementary-aged daughter had attempted to hang herself in the school bathroom. Perez and his wife rushed to the school, where their daughter was whisked away by a police car to stay in a mental institution for a week. Searching for answers, the couple found out from school administrators that their “son” had been struggling with “his” gender identity. On top of that, the school had remained quiet about the issue as the student was concerned that “he” would not be accepted at home because of the family’s faith.

Businesses with ‘Deep Pockets’ Targeted in SC Lawsuits
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
A longstanding South Carolina law can result in big verdicts against defendants in civil cases, with critics contending it often is used to target successful businesses that had relatively little fault.
Attention to the “joint-and-several” liability law has been heightened in recent months with a high-profile, wrongful-death case involving once-prominent Hampton County attorney Alex Murdaugh, who also is facing murder charges in the shooting deaths of his wife and son – part of an ongoing legal saga that has captivated the nation.
Critics say the state law, which was last amended in 2005, is unfair to businesses named as defendants in lawsuits because they can be required to pay entire verdicts even if they were far less than responsible for the alleged wrongs. Supporters contend the law was intended to allow plaintiffs to collect the full amount of awarded damages.

Newsom Quotes Jesus to Advertise Abortion in Pro-Life States
- By Joshua Arnold - The Washington Stand
California Governor Gavin Newsom on Thursday cited the words of Jesus from Mark 12:31 in support of abortion, “Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no greater commandment than these.” The billboard campaign advertises California abortion in seven pro-life states — Indiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Texas.
The advertisements are paid for by Newsom’s reelection campaign, and Newsom tweeted the ads at the respective governors of those states from his personal account, presumably because he understands that the campaign is nothing but a political gimmick unworthy to be funded by California’s overburdened taxpayers.
