Hawley's Publisher Bows to Cancel Culture
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
It was only a matter of time until a book about corporate tyranny found itself shut down by -- you guessed it -- a corporation. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), who has led many efforts in Congress to hold technology companies accountable, felt the full weight of the cancel culture this week when the contracted publisher of his forthcoming book, The Tyranny of Big Tech, refused to publish. Simon & Schuster issued a statement saying,

Who is Guilty of Inciting Riots?
- By Bill Donohue - Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights
In the wake of the storming of the Capitol, many are blaming President Trump for the violence. Of course, he never instructed anyone to engage in violence. Nevertheless, his critics argue that he stoked people's passions, which he did, and can therefore be held accountable.
If this is the standard—inflammatory rhetoric—then Trump's critics are at best ethically compromised. Consider the following remarks, made by the kind of people who are now hammering the president.

New Year, Same Road Problems Persist in SC
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to drive over pothole-free roads in South Carolina, you probably should choose a different goal.
The Nerve’s review of recently released state Department of Transportation records found that since the gas-tax-hike law took effect July 1, 2017, through Nov. 30 of last year, the total dollar amount of completed “pavements” projects statewide remained less than half of the estimated cost of all such projects.

D.C.'s Dark Day
- By Eagle Forum
You Can Be a Light in the Darkness

Americans were waking up to the Georgia Senate election results, some were awaiting the Congressional certification of electoral votes, and others attended a rally in support of President Trump. However, the culmination of these tense circumstances resulted in an unruly mob becoming the focus of the day.

Heaven Is Not Shaken
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
This country has seen some dark days. There have been moments of unbelievable despair, like we witnessed at the Capitol, when everything seems to come apart at the seams. Those are the hours when the hopelessness we see looks nothing like the nation we thought we knew. Yet, in almost 250 years, even the worst of times have never defined us. And we can't afford to let this one either.

We Stand by Rep. Mary Miller's (R-IL) Comments; We Mourn Loss of Life; We Witnessed a Peaceful Rally
- By Moms For America Action
WASHINGTON -- Kimberly Fletcher, President of Moms For America Action, mourned the loss of four individuals killed at the U.S. Capitol.
"As a mother of eight, I am shaken and deeply saddened at the deaths of those killed inside of the U.S. Capitol today. Moms for America does not condone violence of any kind, and we condemn the actions of anyone who breaks the law.
"I have spent the last three days in Washington, and none of the thousands of Trump supporters exhibited anything other than kindness and respect for one another, for local police, and for the rule of law.

Suing Public Officials Personally, and Fighting for Fort Benning, Fort Bragg et al.
- By Gene Kizer, Jr., Charleston Athenaeum Press
I have written about this before because it is an extremely good idea, and the Georgia Division, SCV, is leading the way.
They are suing more mayors and council people as "individuals" (meaning they are being sued personally) for voting to remove Confederate monuments in direct violation of Georgia's monument protection law. The Georgia Division, SCV, press release of December 22, 2020 is below in its entirety.
The Georgia Minutemen have been promoting this approach too.
