Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt to Continue to Lead S.C. Department of Commerce

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Gov. Henry McMaster today announced that Robert M. Hitt III will continue serving in his role as Secretary of Commerce at the South Carolina Department of Commerce.
Secretary Hitt was appointed to his current position by former Governor Nikki Haley in 2011 and has led the Department of Commerce for nearly 8 years, during which time the state has seen more than $29.5 billion in capital investment and more than 106,000 new jobs announced through job recruiting efforts.

EPA Proposes 111(b) Revisions to Advance Clean Energy Technology

Proposal Supports President Trump’s Energy Dominance Agenda
WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed to revise the New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) for greenhouse gas emissions from new, modified, and reconstructed fossil fuel-fired power plants. EPA is proposing, under Clean Air Act (CAA) section 111(b), to revise its determination of the best system of emission reduction (BSER) for these plants. This determination would replace EPA’s 2015 determination that partial carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology was the BSER for new coal units.

Reporters are the addicts stealing money from their mom's purse for a hit of their drug. It is an exotic one called Trump. Yesterday, as the nation came together to honor President Bush, reporters were fixated on President Trump. They were fixated on his reactions during the funeral, the responses of others to him, and even how he took a limo to Blair House, oblivious to the fact Barack Obama had once done the same thing.

GOP Senators Drop Bomb on Saudi Arabia

Senators emerged from a briefing with CIA Director Gina Haspel blaming Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the death of U.S.-based journalist Jamal Khashoggi and promising further action.
“There’s not a smoking gun, there’s a smoking saw,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said, referencing Trump administration comments that there is no “smoking gun” linking the crown prince to the order to kill Khashoggi.

Mississippi Elects State's First Female Senator!

Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith won last Tuesday's run-off election in Mississippi to become the first woman to be elected to the U.S. Senate from Mississippi. Following the resignation of Senator Thad Cochrane for health reasons, Governor Phil Bryant appointed Hyde-Smith to fill the position until the election, making her the first Mississippi woman to serve in either chamber of Congress. Republicans now will have a 53-47 majority in the Senate. Kudos to the dedicated, energetic work of the Mississippi Federation of Republican Women led by President Vivian Dailey, and to the strike forces, phone calls and other vital assistance from member states of the NFRW.
