HHS Ends FDA Contract, Promises Bold Action

ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- On Monday, September 24th, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that it terminated the contract between the FDA and Advance Bioscience Resources (ABR), which allocated taxpayer money to purchase "fresh" aborted fetal body parts for experimentation. As part of the groundswell of opposition that rose up from exposure of this relationship, Personhood Alliance and Citizen Go hand-delivered nearly 16,500 petition signatures to key leaders in DC and sent 18,000 emails directly to HHS Secretary Alex Azar.

Trump Administration Cancels FDA Contract to Purchase Aborted Baby Body Parts

St. Louis, MO: The Trump Administration this week canceled a Food and Drug Administration contract after they determined it didn't include "appropriate protections" for fetal tissue procurement. The agency said in a statement that it has “initiated a comprehensive review" of all research that involves fetal tissue.

U.S. Department of Transportation Announces $11 Million in Grants to Modernize and Improve South Carolina's Bus Infrastructure

WASHINGTON – U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao announced today that the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will award $366.2 million in grants to improve the safety and reliability of America’s bus systems and enhance mobility for transit riders. A total of 107 projects in 50 states and territories will receive funding from FTA’s Buses and Bus Facilities Infrastructure Investment Program. A list of the selected projects is available online.

Disaster Unemployment Assistance Available for Four Counties Affected by Hurricane Florence

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Governor Henry McMaster and S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) Executive Director Cheryl Stanton today announced that residents in Dillon, Horry, Marion and Marlboro counties are now eligible for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) funds, which will be made available through the unemployment insurance benefits system. Residents in these four counties are eligible for DUA due to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) decision to amend the federal disaster declaration to include individual assistance eligibility in those counties. Other counties may be added to the disaster declaration as emergency managers assess damage throughout the state.
