South Carolina Primary Elections Set for Tuesday, June 12th

18 Candidates Vying for Trey Gowdy’s Fourth Congressional District Seat. 13 are Republicans and 5 are Democrats
The South Carolina Primary Election features several important races.
The contest for Governor features five Republicans and three Democrats.
For the first time gubernatorial candidates are naming their running-mates. In the past, Lt. Governors ran separate races and could represent the same or a different political party from the Governor.
In addition to the Governor, the Secretary of the State and Attorney General are being challenged by members of their own party.

The Greenville County Republican Women’s Club hosted a South Carolina Attorney General Candidates Forum on Thursday, May 17. Incumbent Attorney General Alan Wilson won a straw poll after the forum with fifty-one votes, defeating Lexington County, South Carolina District 87 Representative Todd Atwater with fourteen, and attorney William Herlong who had seven votes. Former Army Ranger Bobby Cox announced his candidacy for the SC House District 21 seat Friday at the Runway Cafe after he and two others parachuted to the Greenville Downtown Airport. Cox was interviewed on Fox and Friends Weekend on Sunday, Nov. 12th.
Bobby Cox is a Businessman, Combat Veteran, Citadel Graduate, and Conservative Republican. He was born and raised in the Upstate and now resides in Greer, SC. He graduated from Travelers Rest High School and went to The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, to test his desire for service in the military. While at The Citadel, Bobby became the Regimental Commander of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets; the cadet in charge over the college. He was a Summerall Guard and was awarded the Palmetto Award for exceptional service that reflects great credit upon The Citadel.
