Graham Responds to Obama
- By James "Chip" Moore
After comments from President Obama were directed to him regarding Ambassador Susan Rice, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham made himself available to the media on Monday, November 19, 2012, at his office building located in downtown Greenville, so that he could respond.
“Regarding President Obama’s statement about Senator McCain and myself, I just want the President to know that I do hold him ultimately responsible for what happened in Benghazi, above all others. And I think him calling out myself and Senator McCain is a political diversion. He has an obligation to tell the American people what he knew, when he knew it, and what he did about it. He’s yet to fulfill this obligation,” said Graham.

Greenville County Chicken Ordinance Dead – For Now
- By James "Chip" Moore and Bob Dill
Council Majority Fouled by their Own Rules
The Greenville County proposed Chicken Ordinance met its fate Tuesday, November 6, by a vote of seven in favor, three against and two absent. Following the vote, the County Attorney reminded the Chairman that the particular motion required 8 votes in favor according to Council rules. The controversial ordinance is now dead, at least for a while.
Some Council members stated that without the ordinance some chicken owners in zoned areas of the county are vulnerable to being cited by county inspectors for having chickens.

School Board Member Fails in Partisan Politics
Veteran State Senator Mike Fair ended Tommie Reece’s bid for the state senate by trouncing her by a vote of 24,614 to 10,761 and taking 69.24 percent of the vote to Reece’s 30.27 percent.
Reece was a petition candidate who attempted to convince the public that she was a Republican. The attempt obviously failed. She was challenging the choice of Republican voters in a hotly contested primary.

Gowdy brings attention to Executive Branch Abuses
- By James "Chip" Moore
Congressman speaks to Greenville Tea Party
When Congressman Trey Gowdy spoke to the Greenville Tea Party on Thursday, November 1st, 2012, there were several abuses he wanted to make sure the crowd knew about. Those topics were Solyndra, manipulating the debt ceiling, recess appointments, and immigration.
A firm believer that the government should not be in the structure of picking winners and losers from the business end, Gowdy gave the example of Solyndra going bankrupt after $527 million in aid was given from the government. Gowdy believes that the government should wear a blindfold when it comes to handing out aid where grants are awarded by merits, and the executive branch shouldn’t fill out the applications for organizations like what has happened in the past.- Hits: 4886

What Did the President Know, When Did He Know it, and What Did He Do About it?
On September 11, 2012, a well-organized and well-armed al-Qaeda force attacked the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. U. S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans, including two former Navy Seals working for the CIA, were massacred in a battle that lasted some seven hours.
For several weeks, the Obama Administration claimed the attack grew out of a spontaneous demonstration in reaction to a video critical of Mohammed.

Platform Strengthened, Rule Changes Troubling (see GCGOP Resolution at bottom of Article)
Changes to the rules and platform passed at the Republican National Convention in Florida will have an impact on the future of the Republican Party. Generally speaking, the Platform is stronger and more conservative than in previous years, especially in terms of life issues, school choice and other value issues. Some of the rule changes pushed through by the liberal wing of the party are troubling and were opposed by the delegates representing the South Carolina Republican Party.
