“America Was A Nation Founded Upon Christ And His Word!” True or False? - PART 2

Last time we began with a statement by the late Rev. D. James Kennedy, wherein he claimed that: “If we know our history, we know that America was a nation founded upon Christ and His Word.” But was it truly founded upon God’s Word, or have we all been deceived over the centuries into believing what the anti-God scoffers claim to be fact—that men who were “mostly Deists” originally founded America as a “secular nation”? It is my personal contention that these “secularism uber alles” people are totally incorrect. I’ve been offering, as a strong rebuttal, a small book I got from D. James Kennedy Ministries years ago, titled: Ten Truths About America’s Christian Heritage, written by Sam Kastensmidt (published in 2008 by DJK Ministries).

“America Was A Nation Founded Upon Christ And His Word”! True or False? - PART 1

“All nations that have ever existed have been founded upon some theistic or anti-theistic principle. If we know our history, we know that America was a nation founded upon Christ and His Word.” - Rev. D. James Kennedy (from a sermon at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida).
So said one of my true heroes of the faith, the Christian patriot, Rev. D. James Kennedy (1930-2007). I’ve always believed this to be true, and at one time the majority of Americans also believed it. Not too many years ago (2007) it was reported by the First Amendment Center that “65% of Americans believed that the nation’s Founders intended the U.S. to be a Christian nation”, and that “55% of Americans believed that the U.S. Constitution established a Christian nation.” I suspect that those percentages are lower today. Were these Americans seventeen years ago correct in their assumptions, or had they been misled by centuries of misinformation? Some groups among us, groups with questionable and suspicious and anti-Christian agendas, believe that to be so. Or they want you to believe their deliberate disinformation.

Will You Be An “Ant” Or A “Grasshopper” This November 5th?

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise.” - (Proverbs 6:6 N.I.V.)

I’ve written and published a couple of versions of this tale over the years, but considering the possible “existential importance” of the soon-to-be-upon us November 5, 2024 presidential election, with the possibility for “cheating” AGAIN by the slithery Demoncrats a mounting concern, a re-examination of the ‘moral’ of this hoary tale is in order. The original “story” is quite ancient, and probably goes back to the Greek poet, Aesop (ca.620 B.C.—ca.560 B.C.). It has been republished and “modernized” over the centuries by various writers. A version of this tale was sent to me several years ago without attribution, but from my research it appears to have originated in a very abbreviated form on The Federalist Papers.org, website, in an article by Steve Straub back in 2015. I’ve amplified it to a great extent and changed it somewhat to reflect our current “dilemma” caused by “theusual suspects” of despicable anti-American Demoncrats, cowardly RINOS, Republicrat Neo-Cons, and verminous leftist Marxists who are infesting our nation, but the message of the tale remains the same.

James Patterson’s Journal—The Story of Congregation of Andria Church During Dark Time (Patterson’s Tale #4)
JAMES PATTERSON MARRIES LEAH LEE, AND DISCOVERS THAT HER FATHER, COL. RACHARD LEE, WAS A POWERFUL LEADER IN A MILITIA GROUP.
“I did marry Leah the following year, praise God! I eventually learned that her father was a powerful clan leader who had been betrayed by some of his own followers in Fillyelfia who were bribed by a group of the local Overmasters to say that Rachard Lee was plotting a rebellion against them and against the 2 local Council members. Lee had been totally loyal to them, but he had made many enemies over the years as he resisted the demands of the Overmasters to support them in everything they wanted to do to further enslave the people of that district, and this he became unwilling to do. He and his followers resisted the overt power grab by the paid henchmen of the Council members, and for almost 10 years there was a standoff between Rachard Lee and his people and the forces of the Overmasters, who were willing puppets of their Council rulers.

BLESSINGS AND CHALLENGES BEFALL THE JESUS FOLLOWERS.
“As I said earlier, for about 20 years or so we lived mostly in peace with those in Andria village, even though we knew that as Jesus followers we were hated and despised by a sizeable number of its people, and including the hateful and violent Enforcers who poured their venom on us from time to time. We did our best to pray for these pagans, and we tried to be friendly with them in many ways, with mixed results. We tried to obey our Savior’s command to love those who deceitfully used us—we did our best to love our neighbors as we loved ourselves. We never stopped praying for the pagans and the government Enforcers and Overmasters who were abusing us, even though all we got in return was their ridicule, cursing, and persecution in varying degrees. We didn’t seem to have much success over the years in these spiritual dealings with the pagans, but we never stopped trying to share the good news of Jesus God’s birth, life, death, and resurrection with them. A few of them responded favorably over the years, but most just ridiculed us and continued in their lustful and drunken and often violent pagan ways.

FREEDOM’S LAST BEST HOPE

The first two lines of James Lowell’s (1819-1891) epic 1845 poem, “The Present Crisis”, remind us that: “When a deed is done for Freedom, through the broad earth’s aching breast, Runs a thrill of joy prophetic, trembling on from east to west.”
Various people throughout the world may have a different perception of “freedom” -- i.e. what it means to them--how they define it. The Oxford Dictionary lists what I consider to be pertinent definitions:
- The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants;
- The absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government;
- The power of self-determination attributed to the will; the quality of being independent of fate or necessity.

“Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me; Fight against them who fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Draw out also the spear, And stop the way against them that persecute me. Say to my soul, ‘I am thy salvation.’ Let those be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul. Let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind. And let the angel of the LORD chase them…” - Psalm 35:1-5 AKJV

The Democrat Party-An Enemy of Our Freedom and Our Constitution!

Now why would I accuse our “old time” Democrat Party of being an enemy of our freedoms and our Constitution? Am I being unfair? Judgmental? Un-American? Or am I being TRUTHFUL? Let’s delve into the somewhat sordid and tarnished history of that “D” party and examine its record since its founding in the late 1820’s, when it supported Andrew Jackson for President .
Isn’t this the sameold Democrat Party of our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers? Yes, pretty much. Isn’t this the same Democrat Party that fought AGAINST women’s right to vote from 1878 through 1919, and even opposed the Women’s SuffrageAmendment (19th Amendment) in 1920 until “Kaiser WoodrowWilson”, as he was mockingly called by most Americans of that time--the racist Democrat POTUS-- finally saw the handwriting on the wall and decided to bow to Republican pressure and endorse women’s suffrage? Yes, it is the same anti-constitution Democrat Party.

The 1774 “Peggy Stewart” Tea Party in Annapolis, Maryland

Back in 1988, during one of our trips to Boston and vicinity, my wife and I went aboard the sailing brig, “Beaver”, a recreated ship of the type used back in the 1770’s. It was moored close to the site, in Boston Harbor, where the original “Boston Tea Party” was “held” back in 1773, during which The Sons of Liberty and their friends, dressed unconvincingly as “Indians”, dumped many chests of expensive, but “boycotted” tea, into the harbor. It must have been quite a sight, and it thoroughly incensed the British colonial government. On the recreated Beaver, there were several small chests of “pretend tea”, roped to the deck rail. My wife and I, and our daughter and her husband, thoroughly enjoyed our own version of “The Boston Tea Party”, as we threw those pretend tea chests into the harbor (several times, as I recall). It was a treat to “relive” history, and it was “liberating” to follow, if only figuratively, in the footsteps of patriots from an earlier time.

America Is Under Siege

WE ARE FACING OUR OWN “LINE IN THE DIRT” RIGHT NOW! WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We all know the facts and/or the legend of “The Siege of the Alamo” in San Antonio, Texas in late February and early March of 1836. A pitifully small number of Texans (or “Texians”) and American volunteers (about 180 men, plus a few women and children) determined to defend an old mission church called the “Alamo” that they had previously captured from its small Mexican garrison, fortified it, and eventually resisted a vastly superior enemy force—the Mexican Army of at least 1400 soldiers, under General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna (1794-1876) thereby enshrining the term: “13 days of glory”, into our American lexicon. The Commander of the Alamo’s defenders, young Lt. Colonel William Travis (1809-1836), age 26, realizing that his situation by early March, 1836 was virtually hopeless, vowed to defend the Alamo to the end. Gathering the remaining defenders on Saturday, March 5, 1836, Travis, according to the “Legend of the Alamo”, gave a short talk to his ragged and battle-weary men.

We’re Turning Into Europe, Aren’t We?

Several years ago, my wife’s cousin in Washington State sent her a disturbing email. She added her comments: “I thank God that I’m the age I am, for I would hate to see what is coming to America—in fact, what may already be here.” I kept her email on file because it so bothered me that I didn’t want to consign it to cyber oblivion. I read it again recently, and I’ve decided that her concerns must be shared with concerned patriots who read this great journal of truth known as The Times Examiner.
The body of this email was an article by a Spanish writer, Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez, that was published by a Spanish newspaper back on Jan. 15, 2011. A brave Spaniard wrote these words thirteen years ago, and tragically events in Europe have degenerated since then toward societal desperation in many European nations who made the fatal mistake of welcoming hordes of Muslim “peaceful refugees” from war-torn Syria and other Muslim cesspools and dens of authoritarian extremism into their borders. I think you’ll agree that it isn’t much of a stretch of the imagination to extrapolate his words not only to all of Europe, but particularly to the now BORDERLESS United States.

“You Will Own Nothing, And You Will Love It”-- Says The Fascist, Klaus Schwab And His Globalist “World Economic Forum” - Part 2

Last time we looked at some of the history that propelled Europe, and Germany in particular, into the chaos and morass of evil that resulted from Germany’s loss to the Allied Powers in WW1, and led to the doomed-to-fail German Weimar Republic from 1918 to 1933. We know from history that the German people distrusted, or didn’t understand, the concept of a ‘constitutional republic’, they always having lived under an authoritarian form of government—i.e. a monarchy (as, indeed, much of Europe also did historically). The other, and the main, harbinger of doom for the Weimar Republic was the extreme runaway currency inflation that the German people suffered with during their short-lived Republic, inflation that was basically forced upon the German nation by the Versailles Treaty, which ended WW1 but which placed such high reparations upon the Weimar government that it “inflated” its way into using its increasingly worthless ‘deutsche mark’ currency to pay its bills and its truly exorbitant reparations, which were imposed upon the defeated Germans after WW1 as a form of punishment.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND HISTORY
From their earliest days in the 1920’s, Adolf Hitler and the members of his fledgling National Socialist German Workers Party (Nazis) in war ravaged Germany (that’s WW1 for those who are “historically challenged”) promised all of the German people who believed, correctly, that their nation had been totally humiliated by the Versailles Treaty (which formally ended that war and obligated Germany to pay huge and punitive reparations), that he and his Nazi Party would both restore German dignity and pride, and would make Germany a great nation again, with a strong leader (Hitler) in control.

Backward, Christian Soldiers

I’m certain that most folks who consider themselves to be “Christians” are familiar with that venerable old hymn, “Onward Christian Soldiers” (1871), with those inspiring words by Rev. Sabine Baring-Gould (1834-1924) and the great music by Arthur Sullivan (1842-1900); (yes, the same Sullivan of “Gilbert & Sullivan” operettas fame). There was a time in America—a time that seems to have just about disappeared—when Christians loved to sing hymns with a “military” theme. Most of us know them: Stand Up For Jesus, You Soldiers of the Cross; or Soldiers of Christ Arise. Sadly, many modern hymn books no longer contain hymns like these that portray Christians as “soldiers of the Cross” (“too violent”). In fact, in some denominations and in some other nations, the singing of “Onward Christian Soldiers” has been forbidden by the wimps of their dying Christian (in name only) churches as “too militant”, “too unloving”, “too un-Christ-like”, “too judgmental”.

Satan’s War On People Of Faith Is Still Raging!

“Tolerance is the last virtue of a depraved society”!
(Rev. D. James Kennedy (1930-2007), late President of Coral Ridge Ministries, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
During his life and ministry, Dennis James Kennedy was one of my “heroes of the faith”. Seventeen years after his death in 2007, he still is one of my greatest faith heroes. Once, he said: “When you have an immoral society that has blatantly, proudly, violated all of the Commandments of God, there is one last virtue they insist upon: Tolerance for their immorality.”
Truer words have seldom been spoken, because this sick and warped “tolerance” for immorality and hatred of Christianity and Judaism and people of those faiths has been infecting our national culture with increasing ferocity over recent decades and, in fact, this hatred has been in the forefront of the plans pushed by those who have proclaimed allegiance to their leftist/progressive/socialist/Marxist dogma at least since the late 18th century. Of course, Christians know that Satan’s war on God’s Word—on the revealed Faith of Christianity and the ancient faith of Judaism—has been ongoing since our first parents foolishly listened to “The Prince of Darkness” in God’s beautiful Garden, and were “conned” by his lies.

LIVING AMONG THE “RUINS”
Alongside the road to Beaufort, S.C., near Yemassee, stand the still imposing ruins of Old Sheldon Church. Originally built between 1745 and 1755, it was used by American patriots during our Revolutionary War to store arms, causing it to be burned down by the British in 1779, and rebuilt in 1826. Tradition has claimed that it was again burned and gutted by the marauding devils from General Sherman’s army of pillagers and despoilers during The War For Southern Independence, but recently discovered evidence in a letter from an on site visitor in 1866 claims that Old Sheldon was NOT burned again in 1865 by Yankees but was gutted by the locals after that tragic war ended, and its materials used all over Beaufort, S.C. Be that as it may, the ruins presently stand in grand and haunting majesty, reminders of a time that once was, but is no more—reminiscent, I fear, of the possible fate of our increasingly ravaged Constitutional Republic.
