NGU Celebrates Class of 2022 at Spring Commencement
- By LaVerne Howell - NGU
North Greenville University (NGU) celebrated the achievements of 325 graduates as they received their degrees during the university’s Spring Commencement on April 29 in Melvin and Dollie Younts.
During the evening ceremony, NGU President Dr. Gene C. Fant, Jr. conferred 294 candidates for bachelor’s degrees and 31 graduate degrees.
After a welcome by President Fant, Mandie Boyd (’05), chair of the NGU Board of Trustees, led the invocation.
“Let me be the first to congratulate you on behalf of the Board of Trustees of North Greenville University for your graduation today,” Chair Boyd said. “I was where you are 17 years ago. One thing I can promise you is whatever life plan you have for yourself today, it will take a detour. But what I can also promise you is that God is faithful, and he will remain consistent and ready for you to draw close.”
America Is Probably in for a Rough Ride
- By Neil Patel
Buckle up. America is in for a rough ride if the leaked draft opinion from the Supreme Court regarding abortion turns out to be reflective of the final copy. In the long run, this opinion may end up healing the country, at least to some extent. A morally charged and complicated issue like abortion is best decided in the political arena. Allowing the voters of each state to decide the rules for themselves will not satisfy everyone. It may satisfy almost no one since there will be outlier states on both sides that will impose rules unpopular with the other. But the political system at least allows advocates the opportunity to make their case to their fellow citizens. That opportunity itself has value in a democracy, and that's America's best hope for long-term health on the emotional and divisive abortion issue. In the short term, though, look out. The left and right are both in an angry mood. The left, in particular, is in "burn it down" mode.
Aborti-Mania: The Perfectly Planned Meltdown
- By Michelle Malkin
Just as a wave of crucial midterm primary elections kick off around the country this spring, the conveniently scheduled leak of a Supreme Court draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade became America's new weapon of manufactured mass distraction.
Left-wing abortifa agitators descended on the Supreme Court steps in Washington, howling, "Fascist scum has got to go."
Unhinged TikTokers called for "riots," "gas" and "torches"; "burning it all to the ground" by targeting "all those old white men and the women who support them"; and "mayhem in the streets" that will dwarf the "global protests around George Floyd."
Is the End of Roe within Breach?
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
It was the scene that wasn't supposed to play out for another seven weeks -- angry protestors outside the Supreme Court, clutching signs and shouting at the building's dark offices. As word of the unprecedented leak on Dobbs started to spread, the crowd swelled, spilling into the sidewalks until the wee hours of the morning, as everyone speculated on what this window into the most important abortion ruling in 50 years could mean. While police raced to put up barricades around the court after the scandal hit the wire, one thing was crystal clear: a seismic shift on one of the fiercest political debates in America was already underway.
Leaked SCOTUS Draft: Roe v. Wade Will Be Overturned
- By Veronika Kyrylenko - The New American
A reported draft of the majority opinion in a Mississippi abortion case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, suggests the U.S. Supreme Court voted to strike down Roe v. Wade, which purportedly made abortion a federally-protected right. While the news sparked joy in the pro-life camp and anger and resentment among pro-abortionists, many conservative observers see the alleged leak as a crude attempt to pressure the pro-life justices to change their vote.
The text of the draft was published by Politico on Monday evening, at 8:32 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The outlet described the document as a “full-throated, unflinching repudiation” of the Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling — the landmark decision purportedly establishing abortion as a constitutionally protected right — and the subsequent 1992 decision, Planned Parenthood v. Casey, that reaffirmed it.
Students Must Take Responsibility for Their Debt
- By Star Parker
Lending money is not, as they say, rocket science.
According to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, in the last quarter of 2021, of the total of all outstanding business loans from all commercial banks, 1.08% were delinquent.
Per the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, as of second quarter 2021, a little over 2% of the $1.4 trillion outstanding in auto loans were delinquent.
Yet in the student loan market, totaling around $1.6 trillion, not that different from the total size of the auto loan market, an average of 15% are in default at any given time, per the Education Data Initiative.
Is this Really the End of Roe?
- By Life Legal Defense Foundation
WASHINGTON -- Politico, a left-leaning Washington DC media outlet, published a story with the headline "Supreme Court has voted to overturn abortion rights."
The source of the story is a leaked first draft of an opinion circulated by Justice Samuel Alito in February to his colleagues, along with the "news" that Justices Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett are joining the opinion. Politico is not revealing its source for the draft or this information.
If the draft reflects the Court's final opinion, we will be thrilled. While the end of Roe v. Wade will not be the end of abortion in this country, returning abortion to the states will result in a significant number of babies saved from abortion.
We will celebrate this victory—and we will fight until EVERY child is protected from abortion.
Eagle Forum Agrees - Roe Must Go!
- By Eagle Forum
Washington, D.C. — Late Monday evening, May 2, 2022, Politico reported on a leaked draft of an opinion of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
The draft, written by Justice Samuel Alito, overturns Roe v. Wade. While Eagle Forum certainly does not applaud leaking Supreme Court decisions prior to release, if true, we wholeheartedly support the decision.
“For over forty years, Roe wrongly affirmed that the Constitution provides a right to abortion. At Eagle Forum, we know that this is a stretch,” said Eagle Forum President Colleen Holcomb. “Roe v. Wade not only tied the hands of many state legislators intent on enacting laws that uphold the dignity of the preborn, it also hurt countless women and children. It is America’s great mistake.”
“Life after Roe certainly does not mean Eagle Forum’s work in the pro-life movement is done,” continued Holcomb. “Eagle Forum will continue fighting for a culture of life. We support the lives of all women and children.”

Stanton Healthcare Calls Upon Idaho Attorney General Wasden to Assure Idaho Residents that He will Treat Chemical Abortions in the Same Manner as Surgical Abortions When 'Roe v. Wade' is Overturned
- By Christian Newswire
BOISE, Idaho -- Below are portions of a letter written to General Wasden by Stanton Healthcare:
There is a strong possibility that Roe v. Wade will be overturned with the Dobbs case decision due later in June from the U.S. Supreme Court.
In light of that, what assurances can you give the people of Idaho that chemical abortions (also known as the abortion pill) will be treated in the same manner as surgical abortions under Senate Bill 1385?
According to Chapter 6, Title 18, Idaho Code: 'Abortion means the use of any means to intentionally terminate the clinically diagnosable pregnancy of a woman with knowledge that the termination by those means will, with reasonable likelihood, cause the death of the unborn child...'
'Menstrual Equity' Kicks off a Period of Confusion in Schools
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
According to a new poll, Oregon Governor Kate Brown (D) is officially the least popular governor in America. And considering the law she just signed, it's not hard to see why. Thanks to the Menstrual Dignity Act that just passed, local taxpayers are now on the hook for thousands of new tampon dispensers in boys' bathrooms. This latest madness, which affects every public school and college in the state, is expected to cost up to $400 a machine. And school custodians aren't the only ones upset about it.

Are Biden Democrats Holding a Losing Hand?
- By Pat Buchanan
"Sometimes nothing is a real cool hand."
In the movie classic "Cool Hand Luke," the convict Luke, played by Paul Newman, explains that to his fellow inmates after winning the pot in a hand of poker without even a pair of deuces.
President Joe Biden should take notice. For, right now, "nothing" is the hand he is looking at going into the 2022 election.
With the economy the predominant issue, the last business day of April brought disquieting news for Democrats.
"Nasdaq Caps Worst Month Since 2008," blared Saturday's lead headline in The Wall Street Journal. "Dismal Data Fuel Stagflation Fears," ran the top headline in the Financial Times.
Canceling Student Loan Debt Would Make College More Expensive
- By Stephen Moore
It might be the biggest giveaway in American history. President Joe Biden wants to cancel more than $1 trillion of outstanding student loan debt. Biden has already delayed for more than a year student loan repayment, and under his new rules, most delinquent and deadbeat borrowers would NEVER have to repay.
What a deal for the people who never paid a dime back of the tuition money they owe to Uncle Sam.
This plan makes suckers out of the millions who have felt honor-bound to pay off their debts. My wife spent years after graduating from college diligently writing checks to pay off the tens of thousands of dollars of loans. That's the way it works when you borrow money and you've signed a commitment to pay the money back.

Sacrificing Our Children to a Sacred Cow
- By Mike Scruggs
Voters Must Wake Up and Ask Questions
According to North Carolinians For Immigration Reform and Enforcement (NCFIRE), an organization that has been documenting and publishing monthly statistics on illegal immigrant rape and sexual assault on children since January 2009, in 2021 there were 1,205 rapes or sexual assaults of children in North Carolina by 284 illegal immigrants. We need to start asking people running for public office in North Carolina why this has been happening for over a decade and is getting worse. The latest monthly report for March 2022 documented 110 rapes or sexual assaults of North Carolina children by 30 illegal immigrants. Why aren’t our radio, television, and print media raising an alarm and protest? Are the facts of these crimes and statistics ever raised in the General Assembly and county commissions and school boards?
The Cost of Freedom Is Always High
- By W.H. Lamb
As Americans, we all should know that the cost of maintaining our freedoms—the liberties for which untold numbers of Americans have given their “last full measure of devotion” to defend, is always high and likely to get even more costly in the years ahead, as the powerful forces of collectivist tyranny clash, verbally or otherwise, with the forces of American Patriots determined to RESIST the diabolical agendas of those Marxist devils who are determined that they will prevail over us.
I’d like to share a touching poem written in 1981 by Kelly Strong:
FREEDOM ISN’T FREE
“I watched the flag pass by one day, it fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it, and then he stood at ease.
Baristas of the World are Uniting
- By Anne Schlafly Cori, Eagle Forum Chairman
“When the 7-Eleven clerk in your neighborhood is tougher than you, it's time to get out,” said a business owner in St. Louis when his neighbor shot a would-be robber.
I'm feeling the same way about my neighborhood, because our local Starbucks' barista is seeking to form a union. Bradley Rohlf said that the prevailing wage of $15 per hour to brew and serve coffee was unacceptable; he wanted $24 per hour. Don't forget that baristas are tipped on top of their wages, usually an extra $10-20 per shift, which means that the barista is paid for nine hours when he only works eight hours.

Biden Announces Food Shortages Then Makes It Happen
- By Kat Stansell - American Policy Center
On March 24, 2022, after the G7 meeting in Brussels, Biden announced that the food shortages around the world would be “real” – of course, because of the Ukraine war, which he so desperately wanted, and those dastardly Russians. Now, he is making it happen. In the last five months, TWENTY food and fertilizer plants and storage facilities across America have been destroyed by fire. The latest incident is a plane, crashing into a General Mills plant in Covington, GA, April 21, 2022. The day before, it was a nut and vegetable processing plant in Dafur, OR, where employees responded to a popping sound as the electrical system caught fire. The week before, a massive fire brought down East Conway Beef and Pork in Conway, NH – as well as a Taylor Farms plant in Salinas CA. A few weeks before that, a huge Walmart processing plant in Indiana was reduced to ash.
DHS Creates “Disinformation Governance Board” Resembling Orwell’s “Ministry of Truth”
- By C. Mitchell Shaw - The New American
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief Alejandro Mayorkas announced to Congress Wednesday that DHS has established a “disinformation governance board” to ensure election security and prevent misinformation from being used ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. The board will use the weight of DHS to fight “misinformation” but promises to protect “free speech, privacy, and civil rights.”
The announcement came as Mayorkas was answering questions from lawmakers. Invoking the bogeyman of previous “Russian interference” in the 2020 elections, Representative Jim Langevin (D-R.I.) asked the DHS chief what the department was doing to prevent misinformation from skewing the 2022 midterms. Mayorkas said, “We have just established a disinformation governance board in the Department of Homeland Security to more effectively combat this threat, not only to election security but to our homeland security.” He added that the board will also work to stop the spread of misinformation in “minority communities.”
Will Punishing the Mouse End Florida Cronyism?
- By Veronique de Rugy
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently signed legislation that strips Walt Disney World of its independent, special district status after the company objected to the state's new law regarding discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity in classrooms. While the motive behind this action is problematic, some of its supporters argue that there is nothing to fret about, since it was time to revoke a cronyist privilege granted to Disney 50 years ago anyway. But if this is really a fight against cronyism, the legislation goes about it the wrong way.
Will Putin Submit to US-Imposed 'Weakening'?
- By Pat Buchanan
"Once war is forced upon us, there is no alternative than to apply every available means to bring it to a swift end. War's very object is victory -- not prolonged indecision."
So said Gen. Douglas MacArthur in his April 1951 address to Congress after being fired by President Harry Truman as commander in chief in the Korean War.
And what is now America's goal with our massive infusion into the Ukraine war of new and heavier NATO weapons?
Said Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on his return from a Sunday meeting in Kyiv with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy:
