My Objection to Duke Energy’s Request for a 12% Increase in Electric Power Rates
- By William Thompson - Greenville, SC
To the South Carolina Public Service Commission,
101 Executive Center Dr, Suite 100,
Columbia, South Carolina 29210
Regarding, my objection to Duke Energy’s request for a 12% increase in electric power rates.
I am opposed to Duke Power Energy raising electric rates because it is a tax on the poorest of people, including the sick, the helpless and the unemployed. Duke constantly asked for rate increases and they have made so much money they have bought out Piedmont Natural Gas for billions of dollars. Besides polluting rivers with coal ash, Duke Power got a rate increase to help build the Oconee Nuclear Plant 50 years ago saying they were spending $1 million per day to build the plant that would cut power rates.

Let the Games Begin: Transgenderism Poised to Ruin the Olympics
- By Erick Erickson - The Resurgent
For those who have thought that it will take an outrage of global proportions to restore sanity to this spectacle of “feelings-over-science” that is transgenderism, I can’t help but think we are on the cusp of that very moment.
Last week I wrote about how it was beginning to dawn on an increasing number of gay and lesbian activists that the doctrine of transgenderism completely undermines their own. If gender is a fluid, social construct with no binding social or cultural value, then the premise behind homosexuality is obliterated.

HRC Story Time Leaves a Plot to Be Desired
- By Tony Perkins
It looked like your typical reading class. Dozens of kindergarten students sat cross-legged on the floor watching their teacher turn to the first page. It didn't take long for the five-year-olds to realize: this was no ordinary children's book. "I have a girl brain but a boy body," Miss McBride started. "This is called transgender. I was born this way."
