BJU Programming Team Places First at Mercer University Competition

A Bob Jones University Bruins intercollegiate computer programming team placed first in the small school division at the annual Spring Programming Competition held Saturday, Feb. 16, at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
BJU entered three teams in the 28 team competition. One BJU team—Nathan Collins, Samuel Henry and Jacob Brazeal—placed first in the small school division. The team of Zac Hayes, Ryan Longacre and Jeremiah England finished second. The rookie team—Steven Platt, Erick Ross, Colton Shipe—placed first in their division.

NGU Partners to Offer Doctor of Pharmacy Degree

A year after North Greenville University’s (NGU) College of Science and Mathematics (COSAM) announced a partnership with the Mary Black School of Nursing at the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, a new agreement with a Florida-based Christian institution was announced today. The new affiliation is with Palm Beach Atlantic University’s (PBA) Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy (GSOP) to offer a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.

The 2019 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament is just a few weeks away, and Mrs. Laurie Beck’s Washington Center class is All In. Mrs. Beck’s class is following women’s college basketball and cheering on their pen pal, Emmanuelle Tahane, a sophomore forward playing at the University of Missouri, who calls Bondy, France, home. Class lessons have taken on a sports theme; in ELA, we discussed letter writing, and composed our first letter to Emmanuelle.

Bob Jones University recently announced the creation of The Beneth Peters Jones Memorial Scholarship in honor of the memory of Beneth Peters Jones, the late wife of former BJU president and current chancellor Dr. Bob Jones III.
“We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support for Beneth and the Jones family,” says BJU President Steve Pettit. “This scholarship fund is a fitting way to honor her memory and unwavering commitment to our student body.”

This position will oversee a new university division to be referred to as the Office of Students Services, which will include financial aid, student accounts, academic records, and NGUcentral, a newly created one-stop service center.
