Tigerville, SC – North Greenville University (NGU) has announced that James Mikell “Mike” Burns, representative of the South Carolina House District 17, will be the December commencement speaker on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. in Turner Chapel on the NGU campus.

Bob Jones University invites the Greenville community to the annual Christmas Celebration Friday, Nov. 30, on the BJU campus.
“BJU’s annual Christmas Celebration is one of our most beloved traditions, and we hope many of our friends from the community will join us here on campus as we kick off the Christmas season,” said BJU President Steve Pettit.

NGU Donors Honored at Red Carpet Gala

Tigerville, SC – The North Greenville University (NGU) community gathered on Nov. 19 at the Cannon Centre in downtown Greer for a Red Carpet Gala in thankfulness to its annual financial supporters. The evening was filled with musical performances from the Cline School of Music faculty and students, as well as testimonials from current students.

Tigerville - During the 70th annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) in Denver, CO, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) recognized five evangelical scholars for their contributions at the annual Southeastern Theological Fellowship dinner. NGU’s Provost and Dean of the University Faculty Dr. Nathan A. Finn was one of the five scholars honored.
The honorees, representing five different colleges, universities, and seminaries, received awards for their excellence in research, writing and displaying the characteristics of a Great Commission scholar in both the classroom and Christian scholarship.

BJU Programming Teams Excel at ICPC Mid-Atlantic USA Regional Contest

The Bob Jones University Bruins intercollegiate computer programming teams placed fifth overall at the Mid-Atlantic USA Regional Contest held Saturday, Nov. 10, at University of the North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
BJU entered three teams in the 168-team competition representing 58 colleges and universities. One BJU team—Nathan Collins, Samuel Henry and Jacob Brazeal—was one of only five teams to solve all eight contest problems in the five hour time limit and were the first place team at the UNC-Chapel Hill site.

Washington Center NASA Selfies

Washington Center students have been busy creating decorations for the WC Christmas Tree for the 2018 Festival of Trees at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Greenville. The theme of this year’s tree is based on the books Wonder and We’re All Wonders which faculty and students have been reading this year. In addition to creating stars, planets, and comets in the classrooms, students have been using the app Nasa Selfies to turn themselves into astronauts. The trees will be open to the public starting December 1.

NGU’s Greer Campus To Hold Praxis Prep Classes

Tigerville, SC - (November 16, 2018) North Greenville University is providing Praxis preparation classes for any elementary education students on its Tim Brashier Campus located at 405 Lancaster Avenue in Greer.
The workshops are designed for graduates or soon-to-be graduates with elementary education degrees to prepare for the Praxis exam for licensing in the state of South Carolina. Depending on the projected workshop date, each session will cover different topics.
