Devices. Gotta love ‘em.
- By Ben Graydon
I haven’t been away … but an old trusty device checked out on me, having been replaced now by some new things that I’m still just learning how to use. Following, therefore, are some assorted thoughts that I’ve recorded, mostly while driving, since I last checked in on this page:

Immigration: It's in Our DNA
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
To some people, it's just a Q-tip. But to the kids smuggled over the southern border, it could be the ticket out of a life of human trafficking. Thanks to Homeland Security's new pilot DNA program, one cheek swab is all it takes to find out which adults are gaming the system with children who aren't theirs. And this month, immigration officials have proven one thing: family separation isn't bad -- if they were never family to begin with!

Contradicting the Union Myth of a Holy Cause
Ludwell H. Johnson used the descriptive comparison, The American Iliad, in the subtitle of his comprehensive book on the American Civil War: North against South. The Iliad analogy is very appropriate. The War was a traumatic, bloody, and nation changing event. The enormous casualties and destruction alone would sear its battles, personalities, and tales of heroism into American memory. But what most Americans know about the causes of the Civil War is a pious myth.

Wanted For The Murder Of 60 Million Innocents: The U.S.A.
- By W.H. Lamb
God’s Word proclaims, in Jeremiah 1:5:
“Before I formed thee in the womb, I knew thee, and before thou camest out of the womb, I sanctified thee,…” (1599 Geneva Bible)
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee,…” (KJV)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew (chose) you, before you were born I set you apart:…” (NIV)
I wrote a version of this article several years ago for the old print version of The Times Examiner. It was difficult to write back then, and I fear it will be even more so today, considering the degree of misinformation, confusion, closed mindedness, and mendacity that swirls around our increasingly ravaged American culture over the MORAL ISSUE of what is euphemistically referred to as “a woman’s right to choose what she does with her own body”—i.e. the act of aborting her unborn baby, or as I and millions of other Americans call it: MURDER IN THE WOMB! Yes, that’s the subject of this article, and has been “timely” ever since this abomination was ‘conceived’ in the mind of Satan and “discovered” by one of the Evil One’s disciples on the Supreme Court back in 1973, right up to today!

An Ivey League of Pro-Lifers
- By Tony Perkins
Is that a threat or a promise? Either way, Alabamians probably had a good chuckle. When their governor signed the Human Rights Protection Act into law, the ACLU thought its tweet would have the state shaking in its boots. "You can't say we didn't warn you @GovernorKayIvey. See you in court." Well, obviously, the Left wasn't paying attention, since that was whole point! When Governor Ivey (R) signed the state's abortion ban into law, she did it with one eye on the unborn -- and the other on the U.S. Supreme Court. If liberals sue, she knows as well as we do: they'll be doing pro-lifers a favor.

Colorado School Shootings and Pot Prosperity

Part 4 of Whom the Gods Would Destroy
Shortly before 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7, two teen-age students penetrated deep into Highlands Ranch K-12 STEM School in Douglas County, Colorado. Pulling out pistols, they began a shooting spree at two locations killing one student and wounding eight more. The heroic action of three students, one of whom was Kendrick Castillo, the only fatality, disarmed the shooters, who were arrested and taken into custody by Douglas County sheriff deputies within two minutes. The 1,800-student school did not currently have a School Resource Officer but had private security according to Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock. Highlands Ranch is a high income suburban area 12 miles south of Denver. In the public schools system, STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math.

Like Father, Like Son? Not Always!
- By W.H. Lamb
“Like father, like son”. We’ve all heard this saying in the past, I’m sure. In the normal scheme of things those words are often true but sometimes they miss the mark totally. I, for one, am nothing like my father was—not as a teen or an adult. Despite his being an every weekend abuser of alcohol for all of my growing up years, my father always earned enough to keep me and my mother, and later my younger sister, well cared for. He was an unloving and “distant” parent, an atheist who never did learn how to communicate with me or ever express love for his family, and my mother was always my stay-at-home Mom, providing the love and attention so lacking in my father toward all of us.
