Kursk is a city of 440,000 in the Kursk Oblast (state) of southwestern Russia, bordering northeastern Ukraine. The city of Kursk sits mostly on the eastern side of the Don River. The population of Kursk Oblast is only about 1.1 million. Before World War II it was almost 3.0 million. However, it is the site of one of the richest iron ore deposits in the world and is also wealthy in rare minerals. It was once heavily forested, but now has some of the richest farmland in the world. About 96 percent of the population is Russian and about 69 percent of the population belong to the Russian Orthodox Church. The Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is one of the three largest in Russia, which is situated about 24 miles west of the city. Kursk is about 316 miles or 7 hours south of Moscow.

One advantage of attaining the status of “senior citizen” (or “old geezer” as some describe us) is that we’ve stored a whole lot of history in that remarkable computer tucked away inside our skulls. Some of us seem to lose the ability to accurately retrieve our “memory files” as we age, but I’ve been blessed with a still fairly intact memory that goes back pretty far (I’ve traded good memory at age 87 for lots of back, leg, and shoulder pain, and a bit of heart trouble (AFib), pacemaker and Watchman heart implants, and chronic kidney disease, and my first experience with “gout” recently, but I consider that to be an acceptable trade off as long as my brain’s “memory files” continue to work).
Invoking Miracles from God in Creation Science

One of the criticisms commonly throwing that creationists is that creationism cannot be considered scientific because we can always invoke miracles to solve any problems. While this is true in principle you need to remember that creationism itself is not an alternative to evolution but an alternative to naturalism. Consequently, like naturalism, creationism is a philosophical starting point for producing scientific theories not a scientific theory itself.

Compromising Scripture to Advance Secular-Humanist Agendas
In the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 7:15, Jesus warns:
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”
In verses 16-20, Jesus continues to warn us and show us how we will recognize them.
“You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.

GENESIS 11:1-9—NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION:

“(1) Now the whole world had one language (after the flood of Noah’s time) and a common speech. (2) As people moved eastward (from the Mountains--a mountain ‘range’, NOT one mountain) of Ararat (that mountain in the modern nation of Turkey is NOT the grounding spot of Noah’s Ark) they found a plain in Shinar (in Babylonia, i.e. Mesopotamia, or present-day Iraq) and settled there. (3) They said to each other, ‘Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly’. They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. (4) Then they said, ‘Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth’. (5) But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower (that became known as The Tower of Babel) that the men were building. (6) The LORD said, ‘If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. (7) Come, let us (i.e. The Triune God) go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other’. (8) So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city (for they had disobeyed God’s command to ‘be fruitful and multiply and replenish the whole earth to the extent they were able at that time—rather than all of them staying on the ‘Plain of Shinar’, which they had done). (9) That is why it was called Babel (in Hebrew the word means ‘confused’)—because there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.”
The Heat Problem

Without question the biggest problem that young earth creationists face is called the heat problem. It results from speeding up a geological process during periods such as the creation week and the Genesis Flood will naturally produce large amounts of heat. Not only would this heat be enough to melt rock but at its extreme, it could even vaporize the entire planet. Unfortunately, no firm solution has been produced yet, however, several possibilities keep it from preventing the Biblical account from being true.

It is the solemn duty of every lover of truth to oppose error, and especially, as in the present case, to oppose error that is, in its effects, catastrophically anti-human and destructive, no matter how widespread and popular and deeply entrenched the error may be. It is the especial task of the true, Christian philosopher, or lover of wisdom, to expose and to refute the false philosophical foundation of such error. In performance of such duty, I now proceed.
