Duncan Responds to House Passage of NDAA
- By US Rep. Jeff Duncan's Office
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jeff Duncan (SC-03) responded to the House’s passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):
“For over fifty years, the annual National Defense Authorization Act has traditionally been extremely bipartisan, with both parties working together to put our troops over politics. I wish I could say that’s what happened this week in the House, but sadly it wasn’t. The new Nancy Pelosi House of Representatives and her radical leftists threw tradition out the window and eliminated this historical and respected process.

USA Soccer Kicks Politics into Overdrive
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
This isn't 1980. There's no gas rationing or inflation, no Watergate or the Cold War. But Americans are in uncertain times just the same. Our country could use a team of heroes -- another miracle to shake us out of this bitter fog. There may never be another Lake Placid, but there will always be a chance for one uniform to unite a nation. Maybe that's what makes this week's celebration over USA soccer feel so empty. It was a moment with so much potential -- but in the end, all it delivered was more of the same.

Liberal World Agenda in U.S. House
- By Eagle Forum
The House Foreign Affairs Committee passed the Global Respect Act (H.R. 3252) making it a step closer to the House Floor. This legislation is yet another attempt by the Left to provide special protections for a minority group at the expense of those not affirming their lifestyle.

Duncan on President Trump’s 2020 Census Announcement
- By US Rep. Jeff Duncan's Office
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Jeff Duncan (SC-03) released the following statement regarding President Donald Trump’s 2020 census announcement:
“The United States has every right to know how many citizens and non-citizens there are in this country – the Supreme Court and a majority of Americans agree. The original intent of the census was for apportionment of Representatives in Congress, so it’s necessary and critical we have an accurate count of citizens. I’m disappointed in the decision to abandon efforts to reinstate the common sense citizenship question on the census, a result of administrative errors by Department of Commerce lawyers. However, I am hopeful that President Trump is continuing to search for legal avenues to gather this important data. I believe this is still a fight worth having, and I’ll continue to have that fight any way that I can in Congress.”
Congressman Duncan signed a letter to Attorney General Barr encouraging inclusion of the citizenship question. Read it HERE.
Congressman Duncan offered an amendment to the appropriations process in June to strip the Democrat provision in the base bill preventing the census from asking about citizenship. Read it HERE.

Celebrating Patriotic Heroines
- By Eagle Forum
Editor’s Note: With the recent dust-up around Nike’s retraction of its new Betsy Ross flag shoe, it has been surprising (or maybe not) to see the ignorance of so many about basic American history. As Dr. William J. “Bill” Federer has written, Betsy Ross was a Quaker, and Quakers were the first to go on record as opposing slavery (Germantown Petition of 1688). Perhaps this fascinating overview of some of America’s other heroic women during the time of Betsy Ross will encourage the reader to continue his or her study so that the national conversation might one day return to facts and truths about our nation’s founding. Pat Daugherty, Ed.D.
Courageous, faithful women have always played a vital role in American history. Addressing the Daughters of the American Revolution April 19, 1926, President Calvin Coolidge spoke about “the importance of women in working out the destiny of mankind…As there were fathers in our Republic, so there were mothers….By their abiding faith they inspired and encouraged the men; by their sacrifice they performed their part in the struggle out of which came our country…”
