U.S. House Republicans are trying to enact the SAVE Act by attaching it to an “omnibus” bill, such as the annual National Defense Authorization Act or the pending continuing-resolution bill. Although the SAVE Act — which would require states to verify whether individuals registering to vote are U.S. citizens — sounds good, it would unconstitutionally further federalize elections while failing to fix the root cause of non-citizens voting in elections.
For example, the SAVE Act merely amends — rather than fully repeal — the unconstitutional National Voter Registration Act, which infringes on state sovereignty and is a major reason why non-citizens have been able to vote in elections. Also, it calls for strict compliance with REAL ID, an unconstitutional federal program that acts as a first step toward a national ID.

Biden Reverses Insane Title IX School Transgender Policies

MADISON, Wis. -- President Joe Biden's Department of Education announced its withdrawal of their Title IX changes that allowed transgenders on women's teams, plus allowed them to shower with females.
The proposition that was reversed was titled "Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Education Programs or Activities Receiving Federal Financial Assistance: Sex-Related Eligibility Criteria for Male and Female Athletic Teams."
There were 23 states in the U.S. that had already banned transgenders from competing as females in public schools.
Operation Rescue Dedicates 2024 Malachi Award to Those Persecuted and Imprisoned for the Sake of the Preborn

WICHITA, Kan. — Each year, The Malachi Award is given by Operation Rescue to recognize those whose sacrificial work has significantly advanced the cause of protecting the preborn. Usually, this award is given to an individual, however, the political environment of the last four years has prompted Operation Rescue to do something a little out of the box.
For the year of 2024, Operation Rescue is dedicating The Malachi Award to the long list of pro-lifers who have been persecuted and stripped of their own liberties for the sake of unborn children in recent years.
“We have not seen this many pro-lifers prosecuted and imprisoned for peaceful action on behalf of the preborn since the days of the first rescue movement,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue.
The Funding Bill Adds 65% Inefficiency to Every Dollar Spent

I wanted to read the full 1,500+ page bill & speak with key leaders before forming an opinion. Having done that, here's my view: it's full of excessive spending, special interest giveaways & pork barrel politics. If Congress wants to get serious about government efficiency, they should VOTE NO.
Keeping the government open until March 14 will cost ~$380BN by itself, but the true cost of this omnibus CR is far greater due to new spending. Renewing the Farm Bill for an extra year: ~$130BN. Disaster relief: $100BN. Stimulus for farmers: $10BN. The Francis Scott Key Bridge replacement: $8BN. The proposal adds at least 65 cents of new spending for every dollar of continued discretionary spending.
Kroger Backtracks, Removes Abortion Drug from Pharmacies

In a remarkable turn of events, grocery giant Kroger has removed the abortion drug mifepristone from their Health Savings Club website Monday following an email exchange with The Washington Stand in response to our story on December 14. Kroger, the second-largest grocery chain in the U.S., is also the country’s sixth-largest pharmacy chain, earning prescription revenues of $14.5 billion in 2023.
On December 12, the pro-life advocacy organization Live Action first reported that Kroger’s Health Savings Club website listed mifepristone as an available drug, stating that “It is used to end a pregnancy.” After verifying that the pill was still listed on Kroger’s site as of December 13, TWS published a story on the topic the next day.
Pro-Life Laws Saved 13,000 Babies after Dobbs: CDC Report

States officially recorded nearly 13,000 fewer abortions in the months after the Supreme Court returned citizens’ ability to protect unborn children, something that pro-life advocates say proves pro-life laws work. Yet the abortion industry carried out more than 600,000 abortions in 2022, including tens of thousands of abortions in the second or third trimester. While no mothers died from illegal abortions, five women died from “safe, legal” abortions in 2022. The data also showed nearly nine out of 10 abortions take place to mothers who become pregnant outside of wedlock. Overall, the U.S. government’s official tally shows a long-term reduction in the number, rate, and ratio of abortions over the last nine years.
