How Should Christians Respond to a Watered-Down GOP Platform?

Now that Americans have had a chance to digest the political earthquakes of the last week and a half, a lot of conservatives are circling back to a major disappointment that, like most news, faded to the background when Donald Trump was shot. Even after the bombshell that Joe Biden is exiting the 2024 race, the mainstream media seems intent on returning to a thread that created big waves before the first shots ever rang out in Butler, Pennsylvania: a radically-rewritten GOP platform that leaves decades of pro-life and pro-family values behind.
“Under Trump, GOP Softens Abortion Stance,” headlines declared. Some wondered, “Is the Republican Party Becoming Pro-Choice?” Others were openly critical: “RNC’s New Abortion Stance Betrays GOP’s Founding, Pro-Life Activist Says.” The New York Times went a step further, blowing the doors off the RNC’s “ruthless” effort to hijack the process, “confiscating” delegates’ cell phones, refusing debate, and ultimately ramming the former president’s document through without amendments.
Update: Fort Liberty Excludes Operation Rescue in Statement Disavowing 'Terrorist Groups' Training Slide
- Details
- By Operation Rescue

WICHITA, Kan. -- Operation Rescue recently reported that Fort Liberty, a U.S. Army installation in North Carolina, was caught training soldiers using a slide falsely identifying Operation Rescue and others as "terrorist groups." After a whistleblower posted an image of the slide on X, a Fort Liberty representative told a local news agency this type of training, which contained the slide, was typically conducted every two to three weeks.
Since then, in a letter dated July 16 to U.S. Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC), U.S. Army Secretary Christine Wormuth admitted the slide had been used for "at least" seven years.
Paul Wickensimer Pledges to Support Congressional Term Limits
- Details
- By Press Release

Columbia, SC – U.S. Term Limits (USTL), the leader in the national, non-partisan movement to limit terms for elected officials, is gathering support from state lawmakers across the nation. Its mission is to get 34 states to apply for an amendment proposal convention specific to term limits on Congress. South Carolina state house candidate, Paul Wickensimer (district 22), has committed support for term limits on Congress by signing the term limits convention pledge. He is the first signer in this race.
USTL President, Philip Blumel, commented on Wickensimer's pledge saying, "Paul's strong support of term limits shows that there are individuals who are willing to listen to the majority of voters who want term limits. America needs a Congress that will be served by citizen legislators, not career politicians.”
County Council Advances Tax Proposals
- Details
- By Terry M. Thacker

The Greenville County Council moved forward this past Tuesday evening in advancing two proposals that, if passed, could reach even further into the pockets of county taxpayers.
Each of these votes were 8-4. Although voters in the June primaries overwhelmingly voted against reelecting three of the tax raisers on council, those defeated councilors, Butch Kirven, Chris Harrison and Mike Barnes still retain their seats until the newly elected individuals take office in January.

Congress Battles the Administrative State

The Biden Administration, for all its ‘pro-choice’ rhetoric, wants to decide for Americans what kind of appliances they can purchase. For almost four years, the Biden administration has placed extreme restrictions on household appliances such as gas stoves, light bulbs, dishwashers, and refrigerators. This week, the U.S. House of Representatives is attempting to return consumer freedom to Americans regarding two of these items.
The Stop Unaffordable Dishwasher Standards “SUDS” Act (H.R. 7700) and Refrigerator Freedom Act (H.R. 7637) were voted on Monday to wash away the heavy hand of government bureaucracy. These bills will overturn the Department of Energy’s recent mandates on dishwashers and refrigerators and prevent new regulations from being created unless they result in a “significant conservation of energy or water.” Bothpassed with bipartisan support. Representative Nick Langworthy (R-TX) who sponsored the dishwasher bill stated:
Three Experts Shred Fulton County 2020 Election Results, Shatter Secretary's Claims of Georgia Election Accuracy
- Details
- By VoterGA
ATLANTA -- The Georgia State Election Board (SEB) heard devastating testimony from three separate experts yesterday each of whom destroyed the Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's official narrative that no fraud, errors or irregularities exist in Fulton County's 2020 General Election results.
The experts upheld claims from SEB2023-025 complainants Kevin Moncla and Joe Rossi who contended that Fulton County certified up to 58,924 votes that have no source justification. These include:
- 17,852 ballots with certified votes that had no ballot images which are required for vote tabulation;
- 20,713 ballots with certified votes have no source tabulator from which they should have originated;
- 3,125 double scanned and double counted ballots
- 17,234 unsourced ballots were batch uploaded and backfilled into election results by the Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL) funded Elections Group to reconcile inexplicable errors
