Prominent Black Christian Leaders Seek to Build Bridges
ATLANTA -- The AND Campaign, a Christian civic organization, is leading a political movement to build bridges and address polarization in America. This past week, Black Christian leaders from across the country, from multiple denominations and across generational lines stood together during a press conference in Atlanta, GA to endorse the AND Campaign as a legitimate voice in the American discourse. Over 100 prominent leaders also signed the AND Campaign's statement about the unique voice and role of the traditional Black Church in the political and cultural landscape. Federal Court Reigns in Chemical Abortion Access

After Roe v. Wade was overturned, the left scrambled to push abortion access in every way possible. One method they have used to bypass restrictions on surgical abortion has been to increase distribution of the abortion pill. With the expansion of telehealth and prescriptions through the mail, the Biden administration has used this opportunity to deregulate chemical abortions. However, the federal courts appear to be taking a serious examination of these deadly abortifacients.
On the heels of the 2000 presidential election, the Clinton administration approved mifepristone and misoprostol to induce abortions in pregnant women up to seven weeks gestation. In order to expedite approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Clinton administration pressured the French manufacturer of mifepristone to donate all patent rights to the United States Population Council. Then, the FDA recategorized pregnancy as an “illness” while claiming these drugs would provide a “meaningful therapeutic benefit” over all other treatments on the market. For over two decades, Democrat administrations have continued to loosen restrictions while ignoring the dangerous side effects.

Entin Fellow in Economics at the Tax Foundation, prepared for Senate Budget Committee hearing on April 18, 2023, titled, “A Rigged System: The Cost of Tax Dodging by the Wealthy and Big Corporations.”
The Size and Distribution of the Federal Tax Burden
Chairman Whitehouse, Ranking Member Grassley, and distinguished members of the Senate Budget Committee, thank you for the opportunity to provide testimony on the distribution of the federal tax burden. I am William McBride, Vice President of Federal Tax Policy and Stephen J. Entin Fellow in Economics at the Tax Foundation, where I focus on how we can improve our federal tax code.
Today, my testimony will focus on four points. First, I will describe the current federal tax system, showing that tax collections are near an all-time high and the burden is highly progressive. Second, I will describe how the tax code’s increasing complexity adds to this burden, raising compliance costs for taxpayers and administrative costs for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Third, I will describe the economic costs of the tax code’s high marginal income tax rates, which slow economic growth and reduce living standards.
Two Street Riots, One Weekend: The Violent Legacy of Anti-Parent Policies

Hundreds of people blocking streets, looting stores, and destroying property should not be normal occurrences. They are not normal in a peaceful, prosperous society. Alas, they are increasingly normal in America’s large cities. Unusually violent street incidents in Chicago and Los Angeles over the weekend illustrate the nation’s civilizational decline and point to at least one of the (many) causes.
Videos captured early Sunday morning show that a mob approximately 100 strong smashed through a glass door at an Arco gas station in Compton, California and ransacked the place while the overnight clerk hid in the bathroom. The “mob of looters … left a trail of destruction” at multiple stores, according to one local news report, while another said sheriff’s deputies received reports of gunshots in the area. Police arrived too late to stop the mayhem — not to mention being wildly outnumbered — but are reviewing video for possible charges.

This evening, the United States Senate failed in its duty to support and defend the Constitution by voting to allow the Executive Branch of the government to usurp the role of the Legislative Branch. How pathetic that 51 men and women who were elected to the Senate would so callously and carelessly give up their right to be legislators by allowing the Department of Veterans Affairs to rewrite a law that Congress duly passed.

On April 6th, Biden’s Department of Education released a regulation that will erase the protections the law provides female athletes. The new Title IX rule will allow biological males to play in female sports in schools and colleges. Although twenty states have passed laws protecting these programs, the new regulation will override state sovereignty and make every school seek an accommodation in every sport at every grade level if they want to have a girls-only team. This is in direct conflict with the original raison d’etre of Title IX.
