Schumer and Manchin’s Reconciliation Bill Leaves Americans Broke
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) have come to an agreement about what should be included in the upcoming reconciliation bill. The reconciliation process is a way to fast-track fiscal legislation by lowering the vote threshold to 51 votes needed to pass. With the Senate split 50-50, Senator Schumer needs to make sure that all the Democrat Senators vote in favor of this legislation and convince at least one Republican to ‘cross the aisle’ and support it as well. One might think that influencing the votes of the other party would be the hardest part, but as we have seen recently, Democrats have some disagreements within their own party to contend with first.
Biden Is Using Taxpayer Dollars to Fund Ballot Harvesting and Drop Boxes

A U.S. congresswoman said on Tuesday that a Biden executive order could potentially use taxpayer dollars to fund the use of ballot harvesting, which could include the use of unsupervised ballot drop boxes, in U.S. elections — leaving election integrity experts highly concerned about how this could lead to potential voter fraud.
During a panel discussion at the America First Agenda Summit in Washington, D.C., Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) described her primary concerns about election integrity after her own House race in 2020 turned out much closer than anticipated due to irregular election returns.

Senator Schumer Introduces Marijuana Legalization Bill

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) introduced a bill to legalize marijuana this week. The Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act is being advertised as a simple bill- one that loosens federal regulation of the Schedule I controlled substance. The nearly 300-page bill tells a different story and one that ignores the dangerous impacts of legalization.
Marijuana proponents seem to believe that a good trade-off for legalization is high taxation of the crop. Sen. Schumer’s marijuana bill implements a tax schedule that eventually reaches 25 percent of each cannabis product. However, states that have implemented this policy have seen an increase of illegal use instead of the income they expected. After six years of California’s action to legalize recreational marijuana and impose high taxes, up to three quarters of current sales are from unregistered dealers. Even Oregon’s marijuana market is made up of 70% of illegal sales. Legal dealers simply cannot compete with the black market.
