FBI Raids Traditional Catholic Family’s Home over Son’s Memes
- By S.A. McCarthy - The Washington Stand
The Biden administration’s FBI is once again targeting faithful Catholic Americans by raiding a Catholic family’s home. According to a report from American Greatness, the Rufini family were “dragged out of their home at gunpoint, handcuffed and locked in a van” by FBI agents earlier this year.
According to Jeremiah Rufini, his 15-year-old son was targeted for posting allegedly “offensive” memes online and in social media group chats, prompting the FBI’s raid. Rufini also alleges that undercover FBI agents infiltrated “right wing” social media chat groups, befriended his son there, and convinced or “goaded” him to generate content which they could then target.

DeSantis Addresses Packed House at Greer Depot
- By Terry M. Thacker
A standing-room-only crowd of over 500 Republican voters and activists sardined themselves into the Historic Greer Depot this past Friday morning to hear from presidential candidate Ron DeSantis.
The Florida governor was in the Palmetto state stumping in Greer and later in Prosperity. South Carolina always receives a lot of attention from presidential aspirants during election season because of our early primary.
Several local elected officials were in attendance, including state Senator Josh Kimbrell, who introduced DeSantis. The Bob Jones Academy orchestra provided Christmas music for the event. WORD 98.9 talk show hosts Tara Servatius and Charlie James served as moderators.

Mohler: Left-Wing Anti-Semitism Motivated by 'Hatred of God'
- By Joshua Arnold - The Washington Stand
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday took the rare step of rebuking his own party’s left flank for anti-Semitism, criticizing them for believing that the principle, “Injustice against one oppressed group is injustice against all … does not extend to the Jewish people.” Schumer usually deploys his speeches to benefit Democrats at Republicans’ expense, but an increasing tally of violent anti-Semitic incidents in progressive strongholds has grown too glaring to ignore. In a Thursday conversation on “Washington Watch,” Southern Seminary President Albert Mohler said left-wing attacks on Jews ultimately boiled down to their “hatred of God.”

Senators Try to Tie Up Loose Ends Before Christmas
- By Press Release
Senators Feel the Christmas Crunch
After several rough months for Congress — deposing the Speaker and wrestling over funding the government through the holidays — it may seem that the major issues are out of the way for the rest of 2023. Government funding will continue, via a continuing resolution, through January 2024 and several reauthorizations that still need to be passed (such as the Federal Aviation Administration bill) are not controversial. However, there are real disagreements over abortion funding, immigration, and foreign aid that Congress must resolve before the end of the year.

Americans Put the Holiday Hurt on Disney, Target, Others as Boycotts Bleed into Christmas
- By Suzanne Bowdey - The Washington Stand
When Disney CEO Bob Iger sat down to talk with employees about his bumpy year at the helm Tuesday, he said, “I knew there were myriad challenges that I would face.” What he didn’t count on was those “myriad challenges” being millions of still-angry Americans. After management ran the brand into the ground over a popular parental rights’ law last year, nothing seems to be rehabilitating the company’s image. Even the second coming of Iger, who was behind the wheel for some of Disney’s best chapters, hasn’t brought back the magic for consumers. Now, staring down a holiday season with crashing stocks, box office losers, and even less goodwill, will Iger stop riding this polarized express?

Progressive Public High School Offers Race-Segregated Classes
- By Joshua Arnold - The Washington Stand
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies have grown so diverse that they now include policies reminiscent of the Jim Crow era. A Chicago-area school district is attempting to boost academic achievement among black and Latino students by offering blacks-only and Latino-only classes. The segregated classes are called “affinity” classes, and they aim to reduce the so-called “academic achievement gap” by making black and Latino students feel more comfortable in class.
As Evanston, Ill. School Board Vice President Monique Parsons described the problem this month, “Our black students are, for lack of a better word … at the bottom, consistently still. And they are being outperformed consistently.” Evanston could have offered extra tutoring, parent engagement programs, or similar interventions. Instead, they offered special black-only classes taught by black teachers, on the theory that black students would learn better without white peers around.
