This past Monday marked six months since Representative Ann Wagner (R-MO) introduced the Born-Alive Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 962). The bill, which has 190 cosponsors, including 3 Democrats, requires medical personnel to perform life-saving measures on infants born-alive after a failed abortion attempt. If attempts to save the infants’ life are not taken, medical professionals face legal consequences.

Judicial Watch Sues California over Gender Quota Mandate for Corporate Boards

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court on behalf of three California taxpayers to prevent the State from implementing Senate Bill 826. The 2018 law requires publicly-held corporations headquartered in California to have at least one director “who self-identifies her gender as a woman” on their boards by December 31, 2019 (Robin Crest et al. v. Alex Padilla (No.19ST-CV-27561)).Up to three such persons are required by December 31, 2021, depending on the size of the board. The lawsuit alleges that the mandate is an unconstitutional gender-based quota.

S.C. Lawmakers Getting County Payments for ‘Phantom’ Delegation Offices

A longstanding state law requires counties to fully fund delegation offices for S.C. lawmakers, while at least 19 legislators are receiving thousands annually from counties in place of those offices, The Nerve found in a review.
In at least one case, a legislator has received payments from local municipalities in his home county for delegation expenses even though the county provides a delegation office.
