Sen. Cramer on Dems' Same-Sex Marriage Bill: 'We Have to Fight Back on This'
- By Ben Johnson - The Washington Stand
Passing a bill enshrining same-sex marriage in national law would put the existence of religious nonprofit ministries at risk and send “a pretty strong message that religious beliefs don’t matter,” a Republican senator has said.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) vowed Wednesday to bring a bill decreeing that all 50 states must recognize same-sex marriages to the floor “in the coming weeks.” Schumer needs 10 Republican votes to overcome a filibuster — which he may find by tying the controversial redefinition of marriage bill to a measure to keep funding the government after September 30.
Some Republicans “just want to get this thing behind us, and the faster we can do that, the better. And the best way to do that is to simply give them the votes they need to pass the bill,” Senator Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) told Family Research Council President Tony Perkins on “Washington Watch” Wednesday.

Food for thought
- By Author Unknown
What man in his 20s or 30s doesn't believe, at least subconsciously, that he'll live forever? In the springtime of youth, an endless summer beckons. As you pass 70, it's harder to hide from real time! Nations also have seasons: Imagine a Roman of the 2nd century contemplating an empire that stretched from Britain to the Near East, thinking: This will endure forever.... Forever was about 500 years, give or take.
France was pivotal in the 17th and 18th centuries; now the land of Charles Martel is on its way to becoming part of the Muslim ummah.
In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the sun never set on the British empire; now Albion exists in perpetual twilight. Its 96-year-old sovereign is a fitting symbol for a nation in terminal decline.

Democrats Add Same-Sex Marriage Language to Government Spending Bill
- By Eagle Forum
The United States House and Senate are back in Washington, D.C. for the full month of September. As Democrats set the legislative schedule, they have one goal in mind: win as many seats as possible in the November elections. This means the bills they put on the floor will force Republicans to take tough votes. Conservative voters, on the other hand. are looking for Members of Congress who will oppose bills dealing with same-sex marriage, federal spending, and Green New Deal policies. Both parties are vying for the undecided moderate voter which adds another layer to these votes.

5 Ways Joe Biden Is Cursing the Soul of America
- By Ben Johnson - The Washington Stand
In a speech brimming with dehumanizing and erroneous statements, President Joe Biden hit upon a truth: “I believe we were in a battle for the soul of this nation.” His insight is true, if unoriginal. Unfortunately, Biden’s fighting on the wrong side.
Biden drew on his Catholic background while trying to infuse a crassly partisan speech with higher purpose. “I believe the soul is the breath, the life, and the essence of who we are. The soul is what makes us, us. The soul of America is defined by the sacred proposition that all are created equal in the image of God; that all are entitled to be treated with decency, dignity, and respect; that all deserve justice and a shot and lives of prosperity and consequence,” he said.
The president then defined the forces he sees arrayed on the other side of that spiritual warfare: “MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards — backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love.”

Stop Ranked-Choice Voting!
- By The John Birch Society
URGENT: Far-left Democrat Mary Peltola defeated conservative Sarah Palin in the special election for Alaska’s at-large congressional district. This is despite the fact that Peltola didn’t even win 40% of the vote in the first round, and Palin and fellow Republican Nick Begich won well over 50% of the vote. How did Alaska, a “red”-leaning state, elect a far-left Democrat? Because of ranked-choice voting, yet another method the Left is using to rig elections in their favor.
Additionally, leftist Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski is likely to win her election — despite her unpopularity among conservatives — solely because of Alaska’s ranked-choice voting system. Contact your state legislators and urge them to oppose any variation of ranked-choice voting! And if your state holds popular referendums, tell them to reform or (better yet) end this “democratic” system to prevent the Left from rigging our elections.

WH Spokesperson Admits Biden Is 'Extremist': Here Are 7 Examples
- By Ben Johnson - The Washington Stand
For all the president’s fraught rhetoric about extremism, the Left has provided precious few definitions of the term. Thankfully, White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre has offered a heuristic, a rule-of-thumb that Americans can use to identify those who threaten “our democracy.” Jean-Pierre declared at the August 31 press briefing: “When you are not with what majority of Americans are, then, you know, that is extreme. That is an extreme way of thinking.” With two sentences, the silver-tongued spokeswoman gave us the administration’s rule — a dependable, reliable, and mathematically verifiable way of marking the radicals, bomb-throwers, and extremists among us: They hold any idea not shared by a majority.
By his own criteria, Joe Biden sits atop the most extremist administration in decades. The disconnect between his actions and those of mainstream Americans could hardly be more profound. How? Let us count the ways.
