South Carolina legislators are seeking to pass the Medical Freedom Act (S.975), a pro-freedom bill that would protect South Carolinians from forced vaccination, roll back “public health emergency” laws, and ensure access to ivermectin and other life-saving medications.
- Prohibit vaccine passports, mandates, or discrimination for the Covid-19 vaccines or other mRNA vaccines.
- Ensure that South Carolinians can receive life-saving treatments for Covid-19 such as ivermectin.
- Significantly roll back state “public health emergency” powers, including related to quarantines and vaccinations.
It is imperative that the General Assembly enact the Medical Freedom Act (S.975) this session.
Another bill, Senate Bill 965 (S.965) has been introduced. However, this bill would fail to meaningfully restore medical freedom. For example, it wouldn’t protect employees from termination for refusing to take the Covid vaccine, and it doesn’t rein in “health emergency” powers. The General Assembly should reject S.965 and instead pass S.975.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic began, all levels of government have blatantly disregarded the Constitution and imposed a wide range of unprecedented and totalitarian restrictions. If freedom-loving Americans are to stop the imposition of a biomedical security state, it is imperative that citizens push back, rein in these government entities, and ensure they cease to violate our constitutional liberties.
