Sweden and the Fate of the West
- By Mike Scruggs
The Toxic Dangers of Uncontrolled Immigration
As economists Robert Lawson and Benjamin Powell point out in their new book, Socialism Sucks, Sweden is not a socialist country. The Fraser Institute’s Economic Freedom Index, which measures how well a country respects private property rights, encourages free trade, keeps business taxes low, protects the value of its currency, and keeps business regulations to a minimum, rates Sweden 7.54 on a scale of zero to ten. This ranks them 27th out of 159 countries measured.
Where Is Your “Isle Of Innisfree”?
- By W.H. Lamb
![The (ficticoius) The (ficticoius)](/images/Ficticious-Lake-Island.jpg)
What, you ask, is “an Isle of Innisfree”? It is a mystical place that resides in your memories, carefully hidden away from “outsider” eyes, available only to the one whose memory vault is locked securely from those who didn’t share one or more of those “ancient reminiscences” with you, such as a parent, a sibling, or a childhood friend. Except for “bits and pieces”, one’s “Isle of Innisfree” can never be fully shared with one’s children, and seldom with one’s spouse. It can only be shared with one who “lived” it. If you don’t understand what I’m saying, then you aren’t old enough to have discovered your own “Isle of Innisfree”!

Anti-Religion Group Rains on Court's Parade of Forgiveness
- By David Closson - Family Research Council
Earlier this week, the nation watched a remarkable series of events unfold in a Dallas courtroom. After a closely watched trial, former police officer Amber Guyger was found guilty of murdering Botham Jean, a twenty-six-year-old African American accountant who was eating ice cream when she shot and killed him. The off-duty police officer believed she had entered her own apartment and that Jean was a burglar.
The Truth About Impeachment
- By Tucker Carlson & Neil Patel
Donald Trump should not have been on the phone with a foreign head of state encouraging another country to investigate his political opponent Joe Biden. Some Republicans are trying, but there's no way to spin this as a good idea. Like a lot of things Trump does, it was pretty over-the-top. Our leaders' official actions should not be about politics. Those two things need to remain separate. Once those in control of our government use it to advance their political goals, we become just another of the world's many corrupt countries. America is better than that. That's also why it's good that there are finally investigations looking into the extent to which the Obama FBI may have used our government -- and even foreign governments -- to try to crush Trump in the last election.
The System Works: Former Dallas Cop Guilty of Murder Sentenced to 10 Years
- By C. Mitchell Shaw - The New American
After a trial that lasted one week, former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger (shown) was found guilty Tuesday of the murder of an unarmed black man in his own apartment after mistakenly entering the apartment, thinking it was hers. The jury took only five hours to deliberate before reaching that verdict.
In a case that shook the nation, Guyger — after completing a 15-hour tour of duty — entered the apartment directly above her own and found the resident of that apartment, Botham Jean, sitting on the couch, watching television and eating ice cream. She proceeded to shoot him once — in the torso — ending his life. She actually fired twice, but only one shot hit its mark — center mass, a shot police are trained to take — her other shot missed Jean entirely.
Old-School House Democrats Face Primary Challenges From Progressives Across the Country
- By David Limbaugh
David Limbaugh is off. The following is a column by Salena Zito.
PITTSBURGH -- Jerry Dickinson is the Democrats' perfect House candidate -- and not just on paper. Yes, he's young, accomplished, academic and a charismatic liberal outsider who supports the ideals of the Green New Deal, the impeachment of the president and can self-raise an impressive amount of cash for his candidacy. He is all of those things and more.
Is China the Country of the Future?
- By Pat Buchanan
"Who Lost China?"
With the fall of the Nationalist government of Chiang Kai-shek, the defeat of his armies and the flight to Formosa, that was the question of the hour in 1949. And no one demanded to know more insistently than the anti-Communist Congressman John F. Kennedy:
"Whatever share of the responsibility was Roosevelt's and whatever share was (General George) Marshall's, the vital interest of the United States in the independent integrity of China was sacrificed, and the foundation was laid for the present tragic situation in the Far East."
Sound of Silence: Teacher Fired over Trans Pronouns Sues School
- By Cathy Ruse - Family Research Council
West Point High School French teacher Peter Vlaming is a soft-spoken man who was well loved by his students. He wasn't looking for a fight. He was just looking to do his job. But when the school demanded that he use male pronouns for a biological girl student who had decided to identify as a transgender boy, Mr. Vlaming was faced with the choice: follow his beliefs and potentially lose his job -- or violate his beliefs and keep it.
HB481 Ruling No Surprise
- By Christian Newswire
NORCROSS, Ga. -- Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) President Ricardo Davis said Wednesday he was not surprised that a federal court has temporarily blocked HB481 from going into effect January 1, 2020.
"We've seen this story play out in Georgia and across the country when there are any attempts to restrict or totally ban abortions," Davis said. "Those who don't respect the sanctity of human life are very effective in using the courts to ensure the killing continues."

ADL, Antifa and Koch: Toxic Anti-Trump League
- By Michelle Malkin
The Anti-Defamation League is a joke.
Once a respected civil rights organization dedicated to fighting extremism and hate against Jews, the ADL lies in bed with violent antifa extremists and perpetuates hate against political opponents. The "progressive" group is now a brazenly partisan character assassination outfit headed by Jonathan Greenblatt, a Clinton/Obama operative and former George Soros-funded operative, whose contempt for President Donald Trump trumps all.
Parents Fight Back: Sex and Kindergarten in America
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
"I dare you... Hold up the textbook in front of the camera and show them a picture of what 10-year-olds are going to be asked to see." That was Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers's (R) challenge to reporters, when they asked him about his fierce response to the radical Left's sex ed. He pointed to a book, called It's Perfectly Normal, that isn't normal at all -- unless you're one of those rare individuals who think teaching anal sex to five-year-olds is a good idea.

SAFE Banking Act is Far From “Safe”
- By Eagle Forum
Last week, we asked for your help in asking your Representative to vote against the SAFE Banking Act, H.R. 1595. Unfortunately, the House passed the legislation in a 321 - 103 vote on September 25, 2019. H.R. 1595 allows marijuana businesses access to the federal banking system and prevents federal banking regulators from punishing financial institutions that finance marijuana businesses that are legal under state or local laws. The bill undermines federal law and allows for legal money laundering in which banks receive illegally obtained funds. The Senate is now poised to take the legislation up for debate and a possible vote.

A Morally Blinded America
- By Manuel Ybarra, Jr. - Coalgate, OK
America has failed to put God first. In so doing we forgot that “God is love” and that he commanded us to love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind.
We are to love God because He loves us, and because He formed each one of us in our mother’s womb and gave us life. Each person God formed he made a male, or a female, according to his purpose.

China’s Celebration of 70 Years of Communist Oppression an Attempt to Mask Its Failing Economy
- By Bob Adelmann - The New American
Just as Adolf Hitler turned the Berlin 1936 Olympic Games into a propaganda spectacle, highlighting his “new Germany,” it appears that China’s extravagant display of military hardware starting tomorrow is meant to have a similar impact. And just in time, too, as more numbers showing China’s faltering economy are being released.

Pot Bill Tokes the Line on Public Safety
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
When the alarm went off at Jennifer Hrobuchak's work, the 22-year-old district manager didn't think twice. She got in her car in the early morning hours and headed off to the store to investigate. The new college graduate, who had hoped to have a career saving people from drugs, never saw the man run through the red light straight at her. At 82 miles per hour, he slammed Jennifer's car across the road into a building that crushed and killed her. After seven years of telling the story, her mom, Corinne, still gets emotional. And it's no wonder. The man who hit her was high on marijuana and walked away from the scene completely unharmed. Her daughter never walked anywhere again.
