HEAT Co-Chairs Oppose Restrictive Energy Exploration Bills
- By US Rep. Jeff Duncan
WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Energy Action Team co-chairs Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) and Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) joined House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) to oppose three energy-related bills on the House floor this week.
HEAT is committed to the development, deployment, and efficient use of all-of-the-above energy resources. Three natural resource bills on the floor this week, H.R. 205, H.R. 1941, and H.R. 1146, are misguided attempts to restrict energy development throughout federal lands and off our coasts. Our nation has vast natural resources that we are capable of harnessing in a safe and environmentally-conscious way. Energy sector jobs are proven and reliable sources of employment for millions of Americans and these bills impose top-down government mandates rather than encouraging bottom-up American ingenuity.
Academic Stupidity and Brainwashing
- By Walter Williams
Just when we thought colleges could not spout loonier ideas, we have a new one from American University. They hired a professor to teach other professors to grade students based on their "labor" rather than their writing ability. The professor that American University hired to teach that nonsense is Asao B. Inoue, who is a professor at the University of Washington in Tacoma in interdisciplinary arts and sciences. He is also the director of the university's writing center. Inoue believes that a person's writing ability should not be assessed, in order to promote "anti-racist" objectives. Inoue taught American University's faculty members that their previous practices of grading writing promoted white language supremacy. Inoue thinks that students should be graded on the effort they put into a project.
Constitutional Carry
- By Lois Gates - Greenville, SC
I do not understand why the bill H.3456 is not on the floor of SC Congress for discussion and passing of this bill. What are you doing to protect my 2nd Amendment rights?
American history and history of other nations tells us not to give up our guns:
- A Japanese General was asked, “Why did you bomb Pearl Harbor instead of coming on land to attack America”? He stated because all the Americans had guns and would shoot us. We would be fighting the military and the people. We could not win that way.
- Look at what’s going on in Venezuela since given up their guns. They kept warning us to not give up our guns for years. Telling us to look at them. They refused for a long time not to give up their guns, but over the years they gave in. They stated that within months after giving up their guns, they were under dictatorship.
A Farewell to Firearms?
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
Let's hope the August recess was a relaxing one, because conservative lawmakers will need every last ounce of energy to fight the onslaught of bad bills waiting for them in the House. With more Americans desperate for answers than ever after a month of horrific mass shootings, Democrats think they have one: gun control. And not just any gun control. This time, the Left's attack on the Second Amendment comes with a helping of politically-correct thought control.
The Deadly History of Socialism
- By Dennis Behreandt - The New American
Many Americans, especially young people, want to get rid of capitalism — because of its inequality — and install socialism as a replacement. But such a plan has been tried all over the world, with disastrous results.
Today, if you are a young adult, finishing high school or making your way through college, or maybe even just entering the workforce, you have been made keenly aware of inequality by your teachers, your guidance counselors, and by nearly everything you see and hear in the media.
Waiting For A Forever Family
- By Miracle Hill
Before we said, “I do”, my husband and I sat down and had a really serious conversation about foster care. We both knew going into our marriage that God had placed foster care on our hearts long before we ever met. A little over a year into our marriage, we were both working multiple jobs trying to make ends meet and we were barely seeing each other in the process. We wanted to become parents so badly. I had a dream that one day I would be lying in bed and a little boy would wake me up and say, “Mama”. We were struggling with infertility and caught in a cycle of just going through the motions. Then, God spoke to Ben.
A Biblical Perspective of Slavery
- By Mike Scruggs
The Slave Narratives - Part 7 of a Series of 10
As part of the Federal Writer’s Project during the Great Depression, the Roosevelt Administration employed scores of journalists to interview former slaves and record verbatim (and in dialect) their memories of slavery. From 1936 to 1938 about 2, 300 former slaves were interviewed, most of whom were delighted to tell about “slavery times.” In 1941, these systematically designed interviews were published by state in a multi-volume series called The Slave Narratives.
For God & Country - The Spirit of Capt. John Birch, Christian Missionary And American Patriot - Part 2
- By W.H. Lamb
In Part 1 of this series I asked the question: What impels a young man to embark on a life of missionary service to his LORD and Savior? It became clear, during my research, that John Birch received his “calling” to be a missionary from his Savior, Jesus, and he received that calling at a young age. He never turned back from serving his Savior, nor did he hesitate from going into harm’s way many times during that service. John was characterized by Robert Welch as “a simple, but highly intelligent man, who worked hard to serve God, spread God’s Word, and fought for the freedom to do so.” Many times during his wartime service, Birch longed for the day when he could farm his own land, marry and raise a family, and continue to serve God in his own way.

Federal Probationary Sentence, Supervised Release Sentence, and Suspended Sentence
- By Edward D. Sloan, Jr.
Federal probationary sentencing is a complex matter that began in 1908; it has continued to evolve. It’s extensively governed by many sections of the U.S. Code of Law and Policy Statements of the U.S. Sentencing Commission. It’s intended to be a substitute for imprisonment. Federal supervised sentencing is an unrelated system that began in 1984 and is in addition to imprisonment. Federal suspended sentencing was abolished in 1984.

Global Alliance of Religions Joins Push for UN Agenda 2030
- By Alex Newman - The New American
About a thousand representatives of world religions and other organizations gathered in Germany in late August to advance globalism and a planetary uniting of religions to promote the United Nations’ so-called masterplan for humanity known as UN Agenda 2030. Critics expressed alarm that self-proclaimed religious leaders were embracing dangerous world “order” ideas totally at odds with liberty and Christianity. The implications are massive.
The controversial 10th World Assembly of Religions for Peace, backed by George Soros and the globalist-controlled German government and other powerful forces, aimed to unify the world’s religious organizations behind key elements of the establishment’s agenda — including a UN-guided “modern order.”

Judicial Watch: Federal Judge Criticizes State and Justice Departments on Clinton Email Cover-Up
- By Judicial Watch
‘The court thinks Judicial Watch ought to shake this tree.’
‘The good cause continues from whether or not State was acting in good faith, and I’ll tell you everything they’ve discovered in this period raises serious questions about what the hell the State Department’s doing here.’
‘Now we know more, but we have even more questions than answers. So I won’t hold it against Judicial Watch for expanding their initial discovery request now.’
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch released the transcript today from their hearing on Thursday, August 22, 2019, where U.S. District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth granted significant new discovery to Judicial Watch on the Clinton email issue (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:14-cv-01242)).

Walmart's 'Woke' Capitalism
- By Tucker Carlson & Neil Patel
Walmart -- the world's largest retailer -- has announced it's taking a side in the gun debate. The company will no longer sell handgun ammunition at its stores, nor will it sell rifle rounds that can be "also used in large capacity clips on military-style weapons." Then, Doug McMillon, Walmart's CEO, issued a statement calling on Congress to ban many semiautomatic rifles and seize firearms from some Americans who haven't been convicted of a crime -- or even charged with anything. For a company that operates primarily in rural America, all of this was a big step. How do rural Americans feel about it? We can only guess. There's not a lot of polling going on in Dixon, Montana, or Roxbury, Maine. But in the most expensive parts of New York and Los Angeles, all the smart people were deeply impressed. They love Walmart now.
Colorado Schools Assert State-Mandated Sex Ed Curriculum 'Unconstitutional'
- By USPIE
Local school districts and individual schools in Colorado are refusing to implement the state’s sex ed law that mandates teaching about LGBTQ relationships and abortion, claiming the law is “unconstitutional.”
A report at the Denver Post highlightsthat while many in these schools may object to the content of Colorado’s mandated sex ed curriculum, their opposition to the law is actually based on its violation of the principle of local control of education as set forth in the state’s Constitution.

Stone-Age Democrats Are Crazy With the Heat
- By David Limbaugh
If you're a political conservative, don't feel so picked on by the Stalinist Democratic Party. It doesn't allow dissent among its own ranks either, being the party of the ideological straitjacket.
In watching some of the clips from the Democratic climate change marathon, I was struck by how willing each candidate was to grovel and play dumb to retain favor with the crazy leftist base. And that should tell us all we need to know about how dangerous this party is for America.

As the U.K. Turns: More Brexit Drama, Delay, and Dithering in British Parliament
- By James Murphy - The New American
More than three years after voters in the U.K. decided to leave the European Union, ham-handed legislators in the country can still not figure out just how to do so. Days after new Prime Minister Boris Johnson asked the Queen to prorogue Parliament for five weeks in the lead-up to the October 31 leave deadline, Parliament has struck back, passing legislation that essentially takes a no-deal Brexit off the table, severely hampering Johnson’s ability to garner a better deal for Great Britain in its divorce from the European Union.
