The Anti-Trump Riots are a Smoke Screen

The Real Goal – Eliminate the Electoral College
Many seem bewildered by the anti-Trump riots and demonstrations that have covered the nation since the 2016 election. And many keep trying to find a reasonable response. Give it up. You can't reason with them with words.
Here is my take. They know full well that they aren't going to overturn the election. These privately funded forces are being used to create pressure to destroy the Electoral College so they won't have to deal with it next election. This is how the Left operates. Make a big deal over here to force the hidden agenda over there. The plan is to make enough trouble that Congress will move to abolish the EC to get some peace.
Whom the Gods Would Destroy, They First Make Mad

Cycles of Human Government
“Those whom Jupiter would destroy, he first makes mad” is an ancient Greek proverb quoted in various forms by later Greek and Western authors. It seems to have the meaning that whom the gods would destroy, they first relieve of their common sense. This is very close to a Greek sentence in the play, Antigone, by Sophocles (497-405 BC):
"Evil appears as good in the minds of those whom [the] gods lead to destruction."
Lesson from the Bottom of the Atlantic Ocean

A long time ago (actually in 1956, my second year in university), I took a public speaking class. I really enjoyed that semester, and I’ve done a fair amount of public speaking since those days, an activity that I do enjoy. One of the class assignments was to come up with a “proposal” to accomplish something unusual or difficult, or both. Searching for a suitable topic, I suddenly came up with a “eureka--I have found it” moment. I had recently been reading, for my very first time, about the loss of the passenger liner, Titanic. What better “unusual” topic could there be, in those halcyon days of 1956, then to come up with a proposal to “RAISE THE TITANIC,” which became my talk’s title?

Pastor Brunson Is Free!

- By Family Research Council
With a hurricane battering the coast and a bitter political battle raging everywhere else, Americans could use some good news. This morning, they got it. While the world watched, U.S. Pastor Andrew Brunson, after two long and harrowing years in Turkish prison, was boarding a plane home. Freed, at last.
For the Brunsons, whose excruciating journey began back in 2016 when Andrew was falsely accused of terrorism, it was an emotional verdict. At his trial this morning, he broke down in tears when the millions of prayers offered on his behalf had finally been answered. With his wife Norine in the courtroom, the North Carolina father wept when the decision was announced. "I am an innocent man," he had pleaded during the hours and hours of proceedings. "I love Jesus, I love Turkey."

The Electoral College Debate
- Details
- By Walter Williams
Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, seeking to represent New York's 14th Congressional District, has called for the abolition of the Electoral College. Her argument came on the heels of the Senate's confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. She was lamenting the fact that Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito, nominated by George W. Bush, and Justices Neil Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, nominated by Donald Trump, were court appointments made by presidents who lost the popular vote but won the Electoral College vote.
Don't Let Bullies Suppress Our Free Speech

- By Eagle Forum
After weeks of the Democrats waging war on the confirmation process of Brett Kavanaugh, he was confirmed 50-48 mostly along party lines. The confirmation came a week later than planned after an FBI investigation was called. The investigation found nothing new, but gave Senators who were on the fence the extra motivation they needed to vote for him.
The fanfare is not over yet, though. Democrats have no plans of letting this win go, and Republicans are furious at the political shenanigans that continue to take place. Democrats have continued to fuel violent protesters who have harassed Senators in public, sent extreme messages to their families, and tried to break into the Supreme Court.

As of Aug. 31, the state of South Carolina was sitting on nearly $312 million in revenues from the gas-tax-hike law that took effect more than 15 months ago – despite promises from lawmakers that the money would go toward fixing crumbling roads.
Newly released records from the S.C. Department of Transportation and state Comptroller General’s Office show that of the approximately $362.3 million collected since July 1, 2017, $15.8 million, or less than 4.5 percent of the total, was spent on listed “external” projects.
Trump Fulfills Phyllis Schlafly’s Vision
- Details
- By John & Andy Schlafly
The thrilling confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court fulfills the vision of Phyllis Schlafly in her early endorsement of Trump. By trouncing the radical feminists in this high-stakes battle for the Supreme Court, President Trump has transformed the Republican Party just as Phyllis wanted.
Kavanaugh’s 50-48 confirmation by the Senate was also a victory for the rule of law over rule by a mob. “You don’t hand matches to an arsonist,” Trump declared afterwards, and “you don’t give power to an angry leftwing mob.”
Modern Errors of the Church
