Tigerville Hosts Inaugural Christmas Festival, Parade Dec. 5

The community of Tigerville has announced plans for its inaugural Christmas Festival on Saturday, Dec. 5. Organizers invite the Upstate to join in on a day of joy as they support their favorite town and community.
The festival will begin a new tradition for the Tigerville community and will include a Christmas Parade along Tigerville Road between Hwy. 414 and Tigerville Elementary School Road. Proceeds from the event will benefit the O’Neal Church of God Building Fund and the Tigerville Fire Department.

North Greenville University Opens On-Campus Health Clinic

Beginning Fall 2020, NGU opened on-campus healthcare for students, faculty, and staff. The clinic, staffed by Health Clinic Coordinator Helen Neely, is located at West Crain 111 (behind the athletic complex) and is open for in-clinic visits along with phone-first appointments. There is no additional charge to students or NGU employees for their clinic visits.

Bob Jones University Announces Tuition Freeze

Bob Jones University President Steve Pettit announced a tuition freeze for the 2021-2022 academic year to assist students and make college more affordable.
“Although BJU was recently named by U.S. News & World Report as the best value regional university in the Carolinas, this tuition freeze continues to solidify BJU as an incredibly affordable, Christian liberal arts education,” said Pettit. “With parents and students struggling with the uncertainties of COVID-19, the tuition freeze will help ease financial stress for our students and their parents.”

NGU partners for discipleship experience in Washington, DC, Museum of the Bible

Inspire, who partners with high school and college faculty to guide immersive Christ-centered Bible experiences, is partnering with North Greenville University (NGU) to craft a week-long educational experience in Washington, DC. The pilot experience is a travel course to be offered in Summer 2021 titled "The Bible in the American Experience." The experience will provide three-credit hours to students and personal enrichment for alumni and friends to enroll in the course as auditors.

Hawthorne Named NGU Homecoming Queen

North Greenville University elementary education major Lauren Hawthorne from Chesnee, representing the Resident Assistant Association, was crowned Homecoming Queen during a Saturday, Oct. 17 ceremony.
The first runner-up was Makenzie Swearingen, a biology major representing the Biology Club from Aiken. The second runner-up was Kaelie Ricker, an elementary education major representing Big & Little from Tigerville.

North Greenville University’s (NGU) Dual Credit Program with Greenville’s Legacy Early College High School will be bolstered by the Dr. Herbert Tyler/Chick-fil-A Legacy Early College Scholarship. The funds will assist LEC junior and senior students who seek to complete dual-credit courses on the charter school’s campus in northwest Greenville.
