During a recent hearing on H. 3759, which passed, SC Representative Shannon Erickson talked heavily about tracking ALL children, including private and homeschoolers, from birth.
Now, after much backlash, and in an attempt to save face, SC Republican Rep. Shannon Erickson has claimed her comments were taken out of context. So in order to give you more context, we have added more of her speech for you to discern her intent for tracking children from birth in all educational environments including home school. Just watch this clip of Rep. Erickson saying it’s the legislature’s responsibility to monitor and measure child progress.

North Greenville University to Host A Hero’s 5K March 23

Tigerville, SC - North Greenville University will host A Hero’s 5K walk/run on Saturday, March 23 on its Tigerville Campus. A Hero’s 5K was founded in 2010 and is a 5K walk/run held annually in March to remember all of the soldiers who fought, died, and lived for our great country.

BJA Middle School Robotics Team Places First at Palmetto State VEX Robotics Competition

Bob Jones Academy’s Middle School robotics teams, Light Brigade and Alpha and Omega, placed 1st and 14th respectively out of 49 teams at the end of the qualifying rounds at the Palmetto State VEX Robotics Competition held Saturday, Mar. 2, at Dutch Fork Elementary School in Irmo, South Carolina. Both teams entered the elimination rounds with the Light Brigade continuing on to win the state championship.

BJU Graphic Design Students Win American Advertising Federation Awards

Fourteen Bob Jones University graphic design students were presented awards by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Greenville chapter at the annual AAF Gala Saturday, Feb. 23.
The American Advertising Awards Competition is a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation. The competition is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition for both professional and student creative excellence.

Please save the date for our Thirteenth Annual Run, Walk, & Roll on April 27, 2019 at 9:00 am on the campus of Washington Center. We are excited to show case our ADA compliant nature trail for this event. Our certified USATF course will offer a 5k race, 5k relays with 2 or 3 runners, and a fun walk around our trail. This event is an opportunity for our community to join with the children, families and faculty of Washington Center to support our students and school.

University of Florida Women's Basketball Team Visits Washington Center

Washington Center welcomed the University of Florida Women’s Basketball Team for an exciting campus visit! As the school’s penpals through the Bon Secours Playmaker Pal program, the players came to the school to share in fun activities including art projects, music, Q&A sessions and basketball moves in the gym. Thanks to generous donations of suite seating, several classes were able to attend the School Game Day at the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament to cheer their Gator pals to a win.
