Veterans Corridor of Honor Ceremony Set For Sept. 5

US Rep. Trey Gowdy Will Be Guest Speaker
The Veterans Corridor of Honor Ceremony has been moved to a new location.
The Sept. 5 unveiling ceremony for signs designating a portion of I-385 the Veterans Corridor of Honor has been moved from sites along the highway to the Railhouse Restaurant in Fountain Inn.
U.S. Rep Trey Gowdy (R-SC) will attend the 10 a.m. event. The Railhouse Restaurant is at 1003 North Old Laurens Road in Fountain Inn, off Exit 22 on I-385.
A 12-mile portion of Interstate 385 in Greenville and Laurens counties is being designated the Veterans Corridor of Honor to recognize those who served in 20th- and 21st-century wars involving the United States of America.

Korean War Veterans Presented Medals

Government of Republic of Korea Show Appreciation to US Service Members Who Sacrificed for Korea
Seventeen Korean War combat veterans were presented the Korean War Ambassador for Peace Medal during ceremonies in Taylors at the Taylors First Baptist Church Ministry Center, Saturday, July 26, 2014.
Retired US Marine Corps BG Jim Walker, a Wade Hampton High School and Clemson University graduate, presented the medals to recipients.
The medal is an expression of appreciation from the Korean government to the US service members who served in the conflict. The medals were forged from reclaimed metal from the Demilitarized Zone separating South and North Korea.

Commandant of Marine Corps Critical of Commander-in-Chief Policies, Actions

General James Amos, Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, has been loyal to the current Commander-in-Chief. Troops have been gritting their teeth and asking why their fearless leaders are allowing Barack Obama to literally destroy their beloved service branch during wartime.
Remaining silent in the midst of a storm ended for General Amos recently while speaking to the liberal Brookings Institute think tank. During that address, the 4-star general who is set to retire in the fall, openly and publicly criticized Barack Husein Obama.
During an interview on Fox News, Lt. Col. Ollie North commended the Commandant for his courage. Reporters expressed surprise that a senior officer would dare question White House and Pentagon policy.

God and Country Sunday Honored at Wrenn Memorial

Members and guests filled the sanctuary of Wrenn Memorial Church on Smyth St. in Greenville to celebrate the 6th annual God And Country Program.The event was held on Sunday, June 29th , 2014, at 10:30 am.After opening prayers the United States Colors were presented by a color Guard from Southside High School AFJRROTC and were escorted into the church by Bag Piper Mike Clark. Following the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance, Piper Clark played Amazing Grace and Retired the Colors with the Color Guard Jr. Cadet Wing commander with Southside thrilled the atendies with a Rifle Twirling demonstration.
Everyone was treated to a wonderful Barbecue lunch afterwards in the Rec Hall. Color Guard Arrangements were made by Charlie Porter.
