Elena Kagan Should Be Rejected
- By Phyllis Schlafley
Barack Obama revealed his goal for the Supreme Court when he complained on Chicago Radio Station WBEZ-FM in 2001 that the Earl Warren Court wasn't "radical" enough because "it didn't break free from the essential constraints placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution" in order to allow "redistribution of wealth." Now that Obama is President, he has the power to nominate Supreme Court justices who will "break free" from the Constitution and join him in "fundamentally transforming" America.
That's the essence of his choice of Elena Kagan as his second Supreme Court nominee. She never was a judge, and her paper trail is short but it's long enough to prove that she is a clear and present danger to the Constitution.
Establishing an Absolute Tyranny
- By Ray Sheen
“The history of the present [government] is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states.” An interesting quote. Sounds like it came from a talk radio diatribe, or possibly from a right-wing conservative blog. Actually, it comes from our Declaration of Independence. In that document the term I have in brackets—government— was actually “King of Great Britain.”

Upstate Congressmen Suffer Overwhelming Defeat
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Nikki Haley, Trey Gowdy Exceed Own Expectations
No one predicted that six-term Congressman Bob Inglis after spending gobs of money on television and radio ads, knocking on hundreds of doors and holding dozens of discussion meets, would only be able to scrape up 29 percent of the vote in the district he once “owned.” Inglis only won 3 precincts in Greenville County and none in either Spartanburg or Union County.
Amnesty by Executive Fiat Signals “Outright Dictatorship”
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Alan Keyes has now committed to print what many Americans have feared in silence. Keyes, a former Ambassador to the United Nations, Republican Presidential Candidate, author and public speaker, predicts that if President Obama persists in unilaterally granting blanket amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants, it will signal that our constitutional republic is “on the verge of outright dictatorship.”
Republican Senators Allow Democrats to Kill Voter ID Bill
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Senators Leatherman, Knotts, O’Dell and Rankin Identified as Culprits
Legislation requiring voters to prove who they are when they vote by presenting identification failed to pass the South Carolina Senate last week. The legislation required identification by a South Carolina drivers license, South Carolina official identification card, a U. S. Passport, a U. S. Government identification or a voter identification card with a photo ID in order to vote in South Carolina.
Passage of the bill to close a clear loophole in the current law that allows voter fraud and abuse was the top priority for the South Carolina Republican Party this year.

Change Coming to South Carolina
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
The elections of 2010 are bringing change to South Carolina. Some of the changes can be attributed to Barack Obama – not in support of him but in opposition to his policies and the chaos he is creating in the nation and world. Other changes in the Palmetto State are occurring in the State Government, the Republican Party and a large segment of the Democrat Party.
The election of Barack Obama and the takeover of the U. S. Senate and House by leftists, socialists, progressive Communists and liberal Democrats has awakened a sleeping giant that has surfaced in the form of “Tea Parties.”

The Plight of Winners and Losers
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
In every contest there are winners and losers. Election to public office is no different. There was a time in recent years when political office holders had only to avoid scandal to remain in office until they were too old to be pushed around in a wheel chair and read from a script prepared by staff members. Such is the case of West Virginia’s Robert Byrd currently, and there have been others.
Friends of House District 17
- By Tom Corbin
Six months ago I felt God's calling to take a stand for Christian morals, beliefs and family values. I believed that he was leading me to run for SC House District 17. With the support of my family and friends I began the process of running for office. Immediately I was received by others with encouragement and approval. On March 15, I held my campaign announcement at Clearview Baptist Church's Family Life Center. I was amazed as over 100 family, friends, and acquaintances gathered to hear my declaration for office.
Teaching A Biblical Work Ethic
- By Heather Sheen
In our culture, we see many skewed views of work. On one end of the spectrum there are people who hate work and do anything and everything to try to get out of it. On the other end are the workaholics to whom their work is their life and it trumps everything, including God and family. Obviously neither extreme is correct. But what is the biblical view of work? How do we teach it to our children?

May 15, 2010, was a pleasant, warm Saturday. We drove toward Choice Hills Baptist Church to attend Pastor Craig’s wedding, and along the way we listened to his Trumpet Pulpit segment on WTBI radio. Bro. Stan Craig was happily preaching “live” from his church office! It was 12:30pm, and getting closer to the start of his own wedding ceremony! Being so near to the starting time, it made us both chuckle! You could just imagine Brother Craig’s big smile! He said, “In just 30 minutes, I’m going to be married! Everyone is invited to come!”

FREEDOM FOR A CHANGE: A Must-Read Book
- By Chuck Baldwin
My son, Tim Baldwin, is a constitutional attorney and historian. And now, after reading his just-released book, FREEDOM FOR A CHANGE, I learned something else about him: he is quite the scholar. I dare say his new book, FREEDOM FOR A CHANGE, rivals any great textbook of law and history written during the last hundred years. And I am not saying that because he is my son. I am saying that because it is the truth.
