Three Economic Myths to Put To Rest This Year
- By Veronique de Rugy
As a new year dawns, it's customary to reflect on the past and set resolutions for the future. This year, let's resolve to greet three widespread claims with healthy doses of skepticism.
The first dubious claim is that income inequality in the United States has inexorably risen since the 1960s. It's a scary narrative heavily bolstered by the work of three French economists: Thomas Piketty, Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman. According to these researchers, the situation was fueled mostly by tax cuts for top income earners during the Reagan administration. Their proposed remedy, not surprisingly, is a sky-high, French-like level of taxation.
It's time to Question "The Authorities"

Some of the lies that “The Authorities” told us:

- No one is safe from Covid until everyone is safe.
- Non-essential businesses must close.
- In-person schools must close.
- Churches must close.
- The vaccine is 100% effective against Covid.
- You have no individual rights on vaccines.
- The Covid pandemic was caused by the unvaccinated.
Blue States Just Can't Stop Taxing
- By Stephen Moore
The latest Census Bureau data on population changes in America should have been a wake-up call to lawmakers in blue states and cities. The Census data provide even further evidence that "soak the rich" tax policies have incited a blue-state meltdown.
California, New York and Illinois all lost the most population last year. These states have nearly lost a combined 5 million people over the last decade. California and New York could both lose another three congressional seats by the end of the decade, and Illinois another two.
Did I mention that these are the three states with the highest taxes?
Americans Moved to Low-Tax States in 2023
- By Katherine Loughead - Tax Foundations
Americans were on the move in 2023, and many chose low-tax states over high-tax ones. That’s the finding of recent U.S. Census Bureau interstate migration data and commercial datasets released last week by U-Haul and United Van Lines.
The U.S. population grew 0.49 percent between July 2022 and July 2023, an increase from the previous year’s 0.37 percent. While international migration contributed to population growth at the national level, interstate migration was the key driver of net population changes at the state level. The U.S. Census Bureau’s most recent interstate migration estimates show that New York lost the greatest share of its population (1.1 percent) to other states between July 2022 and July 2023. Not far behind was California, which lost 0.9 percent of its residents, followed by Hawaii (0.8 percent), Alaska (also 0.8 percent), and Illinois (0.7 percent). At the other end of the spectrum, South Carolina saw the greatest population growth from net domestic inbound migration (1.6 percent), followed by Delaware (1.0 percent) and North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida (all 0.9 percent).
House GOP Raises the Stakes: 'Shut the Border Down or Shut the Government Down'
- By Suzanne Bowdey - The Washington Stand
While the rest of Congress is soaking up the last few days of holiday recess, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) decided to cut his vacation short, opting instead to take 60 House Republicans on a detour to the southern border before Congress resumes next week. If the goal was to remind them what they’re fighting for in the standoff on immigration with Joe Biden, it succeeded.
With December’s record-breaking migrant crossings as a backdrop, this “show of force,” as many are calling it, aims to put more pressure on the White House to negotiate on reforms in real faith. “Life along the border is turned upside down,” host Congressman Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) told reporters, “and that’s exactly what the speaker and my colleagues are going to see.”
The World Health Organization Will Implement Global Trans Policies
- By Eagle Forum
WHO Becomes Global Groomer
If you need yet another reason to oppose the World Health Organization (WHO), they are now preparing to push the transgender agenda globally. From February 19-21, 2024, a group of individuals will meet on behalf of WHO to formulate guidelines to increase access to so-called “gender-affirming” puberty blockers, hormone treatments, and surgeries regardless of age. Although this will be their first meeting, it’s clear that their minds are already made up.
South Carolina’s Income Tax Rate Is Expected to See Another Decrease in 2024
- By James Spurck, Publisher
The State’s Goal is to Reduce the Tax Rate by 0.1% until it reaches 6% from its original 7%
With South Carolina having the highest personal income tax rate in the Southeast and being the 12th highest in the nation, SC State Legislators and Governor Henry McMaster decided that it was time for an income tax cut.
In 2022, the state’s top tax rate was seven percent. That year the South Carolina Senate compromised from a desired 5.7% rate by passing along with the State House a new spending plan that would immediately lower 7% to 6.5 percent for the coming 2023 tax year. Beginning with 2024, over the next five years, it would reduce by 0.1 percent each year until it reached 6% in 2028.
Ten Peaceful Pro-Life Heroes Facing Federal Charges Should be Commended
- By Rev. Rusty Thomas, Director of Elijah Ministries
"These pro-life heroes need and deserve our support, they have mine." -- Rev. Rusty Thomas, Director, Elijah Ministries
On Tuesday, January 16th, in the year of our Lord, 2024, ten gentle Christians will appear before a Federal Court to stand trial. They are being charge with a felony based upon the draconian F.A.C.E., Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, so-called "law."
This tyrannical law takes a misdemeanor charge, trespass, and applies federal penalties. They are facing over 10 years in a federal prison if found guilty.
What was their crime? They trespassed for dear life. They were performing our government's duty, which our government betrayed by "legalizing" the murder of the preborn. Civil government's sacred trust before Almighty God is to restrain evil, protect life, and stop the shedding of innocent blood.

Ban a Central Bank Digital Currency in South Carolina
- By The John Birch Society
South Carolina lawmakers are seeking to enact legislation banning Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) in the state.
House Bill 4373 (H.4373) is sponsored by Representative Kathy Landing (R-Mount Pleasant) and 20 other representatives. Meanwhile, House Bill 4442 (H.4442) is sponsored by Representative Bill Taylor (R-Aiken), Senate Bill 834 (S.834) is sponsored by Senator Tom Corbin (R-Travelers Rest) and two other senators, and Senate Bill 861 (S.861) is sponsored by Senator Shane Martin (R-Spartanburg).
If enacted, H.4373, H.4442, S.834, and S.861 would amend the state’s definition of money, found in the South Carolina’s Uniform Commercial Code, to exclude CBDCs — regardless of whether they are “issued by the United States Federal Reserve System, a federal agency, a foreign government, a foreign central bank, or a foreign reserve system.” The bill would also ban banking corporations from engaging in transactions involving CBDCs. This would effectively ban them within South Carolina.
Blood Donations Needed Now
- By OneBlood
OneBlood Issues Urgent Appeal as National Blood Donor Month Gets Underway
(January 4, 2024 – Orlando, Florida) OneBlood, the not-for-profit blood center serving Florida, North Carolina and much of the southeastern United States is issuing an urgent appeal to the community for blood donations.
All blood types are needed. Additionally, there is an increased need for O Negative and O Positive blood, as well as platelet donations.
“We are in one of the most challenging times of the year for blood collections. Most schools are on holiday break and people are taking time off. These realities drastically disrupt the donor base,” said Susan Forbes, OneBlood senior vice president of corporate communications and public relations.
Is There Any Evidence for Biblical Creation Part 2
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
Before diving into actual evidence for Biblical creation and the Genesis Flood, it is necessary to discuss the differences between how creationists and evolutionists see evidence. These differences result from fundamental differences in the worldview behind the position. Creationists start with God, the Bible, and the implications of God as the intelligent designer and creator of the world and all that is in it. Evolutions, on the other hand, look at evidence from what is essentially an atheistic naturalistic materialistic perspective. While many evolutionists also believe in God, they still look at the evidence from this perspective. If they see any role for Him at all, it is little more than a guiding force. However, it is these differences that explain much of the disagreement between how creationists and evolutionists see evidence.
Securing Our Border at Home, Defending Our Values Globally
- By Star Parker
With migrants now flooding our Southwestern border at a reported 10,000 seeking entry daily, it is essential that we take steps to crystalize a national immigration policy.
Republicans insist that $74 billion in funds that the Biden administration is asking in aid for Ukraine and Israel be part of a larger package that deals with border security and comprehensive immigration policy.
Agreement on such a package will benefit the whole nation.
Democrats Have Been Kicking Candidates Off Ballots Since Lincoln’s Day
- By Paul Dragu - The New American
Since they cannot legitimately beat him in the general election, Democratic operatives have mounted furious campaigns to remove leading presidential candidate Donald Trump from the ballot. The New American’s executive senior editor, Steve Bonta, explains how this behavior goes back to the Abraham Lincoln era. He also weighs in on whether the GOP has become a legitimate opposition party as opposed to the controlled opposition position it has served for many decades.
Startling Surprises in Latest Census Numbers
- By Michael Barone
How's America doing? Government statisticians provide mounds of data that provide useful clues, and none more so than the Census Bureau's estimates of population, announced in the holiday weeks at the end of each calendar year. The latest numbers measure the estimated population of each state as of last July 1 as compared to the constitutionally required decennial census dated April 1, 2020.
These dates thus cover 39 months, almost exactly one-third of a decade, and in this case, date from the imposition of COVID lockdowns. They have the advantage of covering a unique period, and the disadvantage is that there is some doubt about the accuracy of the April 2020 census.
Chariots of Fire
- By Mike Scruggs
The Scripture, the Movie, the Ultimate Heroism
Elisha and the Angelic Host and Chariots of Fire: 2 Kings 6: 16-17
Background from preceding verses:
The King of Syria had been attacking Israel and discovered that the Prophet Elisha was giving them advice that successfully defeated Syria’s attacks. When the Syrian King found out that Elisha and his servant were staying in Dothan, he sent a large military force to surround Dothan and bring back Elisha dead or alive. When Elisha’s young servant rose early the next morning, he was alarmed to see the Syrian Army had surrounded them, and he asked Elisha what they could do.
2 Kings 6: 16-17 verses
16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered: “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around.”

Some Thoughts To Ponder For A New Year
- By W.H. Lamb
“And he said, Hearken ye all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou, King Jehoshaphat: Thus saith the Lord unto you, Fear you not, neither be afraid for this great multitude: FOR THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS, BUT GOD’S” (2nd Chronicles 20:15-17; 1599 Geneva Bible).
ARE WE STILL WILLING TO “OBEY GOD” BY RESISTING TYRANNY?
For those of you who are unaware, the 1599 Geneva Bible was the Bible used by our PILGRIM Forefathers and Mothers (they didn’t trust the recently published 1611 King James Version because they disliked King James--i.e. they disapproved of his “suspected” homosexual proclivities, and his allegiance to The Church of England, with its “anti-Calvinist” inclinations—the Geneva Bible is full of helpful “margin notes”, and is strongly “Calvinist” in its teachings, both of which King James disapproved). It was read and preached from during the dangerous and tedious 66-day Atlantic voyage from England to the New World during the harsh fall of 1620. It’s the “original” Bible I prefer to use.
A Remarkable Woman!
- By Steven Hawkins - Freelance writer from Greenville SC
My sister Deborah Lee Hawkins is a remarkable woman. She loves her God Jehovah, and she loves her family. But one thing about my sister Deborah is that she started working as a teenager; and Debbie recently retired at 61 years old age. And my sister Deborah loved to travel when she was off work thru the years.
But my sister Deborah worked all her life. I just had 3 or 4 good jobs all my life, but my sister started working in the 1980s. She has even worked almost 20 places, and she keeps on working.
Is There Any Evidence for Biblical Creation Part 1
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
A common claim made by evolutionists is that there is no evidence for creation or a global flood. However, when you look at creationist websites or other material, they show loads of evidence. So, what is the cause of this disparity?
The first thing to note is that evolutionists have been presented the evidence exclusively from an atheistic naturalistic materialistic perspective. This is regardless of whether or not the person actually believes in God, they have been trained where they went to school to see the evidence exclusively from an atheistic naturalistic materialistic perspective. Furthermore, only explanations based on that perspective are provided with the evidence being interpreted for them through those explanations. In other words, one reason they think there is no evidence for creation, or a global flood, is because it was never shown the evidence from the perspective where either of these events would even be possible explanations. Unfortunately, in many cases, their hearts have been so hardened against any alternative that they will never be even capable of looking at the evidence from a Biblical perspective.
States Enact 84 Laws Protecting Citizens against Transgender Extremism
- By Ben Johnson - The Washington Stand
States across the country passed dozens of laws — and have debated hundreds of pieces of legislation — to protect children from the predatory transgender industry, a new analysis has found.
In all, 23 state legislatures passed 84 separate laws this year preventing minors from being subjected to transgender surgeries, securing parental rights, shielding kids from sexually explicit drag queen shows, safeguarding the privacy of women’s facilities, ensuring fairness in women’s sports, and strengthening religious conscience rights. As 2023 comes to a close, 193 more bills are currently advancing through the legislative process nationwide, and legislators voted down another 227 bills, according to a tally from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
“It’s great seeing states step up to the plate to protect parental rights, and ultimately, the health, well-being, and safety of children,” Alex Nester, an investigative fellow at Parents Defending Education, told The Washington Stand.

Secure the Border
House Republicans unified around the Secure the Border Act (H.R. 2) which laid out an excellent plan to close loopholes within the immigration system that illegal aliens have exploited for many years. Since President Joe Biden took office, a crisis has erupted at the border resulting in historic numbers of encounters occurring daily.
The Messianic Jewish Alliance of America Calls All Christians Who Love Israel to Rise Up -- Stand With and Defend Israel and the American Jewish Community…Before It's Too Late
- By Messianic Jewish Alliance of America
A tsunami of anti-Semitic and anti-Israel evil is increasing every day in America and around the world. In the United States alone Reuters News Agency reports that antisemitic incidents are up 400% since the onset of the Israel-Hamas War. Calls to destroy Israel (from the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free) and vilify the Jewish community outside of Israel, are becoming all too commonplace on the streets of America and even in the halls of Congress. For the first time in the history of the United States, Jewish people are genuinely concerned for their physical safety.
The United States is becoming an increasingly dangerous place for Jews. Many are afraid to identify as Jews in public. They are fearful to identify as pro-Israel on the campuses of academic America. To Jewish eyes and ears, the rapid growth of American anti-Israel and anti-Semitic violence is increasingly reminiscent of the rise of 1930's German Nazism which was heralded by the deadly street violence of Jew-hating Brown Shirts. This is shameful and a moral blight on the reputation of the United States as a safe-haven of religious freedom.
'Shooting the Messenger' in Baby Parts Case: Final Motion to Halt Collection of $16 Million Denied
- By Operation Rescue
Planned Parenthood Admitted it Sells Baby Body Parts, Slithered Out of Prosecution, Newman and Other Pro-Life Investigators Punished Instead
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Operation Rescue President Troy Newman, along with several other pro-life activists, lost a motion to prevent Planned Parenthood from collecting on a punitive $16 million judgment in a case involving the trafficking of aborted baby body parts. The ruling was issued on December 6, 2023.
Planned Parenthood sued the activists for the 2015 release of a series of undercover videos detailing the Abortion Cartel's secret participation in what appeared to be illegal profit-taking from the trafficking of tissue and organs harvested from the bodies of babies aborted at Planned Parenthood facilities. Newman and the other activists were wrongly convicted in a San Francisco Federal Court under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) resulting in a monetary judgment in excess of $16 million.
