Black Education Matters

Most Americans would probably be shocked and angry if they knew all the dirty tricks used to sabotage charter schools that are successfully educating low-income minority children.

This is not "systemic racism." It is plain old selfishness on the part of traditional public school officials and teachers unions protecting their own vested interests.

Most of us might see charter schools that succeed where traditional public schools have failed as welcome news, especially in minority communities where there is so much bad news.

Big Tech: ’The Single Greatest Threat To Free Speech in America’

 Family Reseach Council Social Media

Family Research Council · Rep. James Comer insists that unless something changes, Big Tech is just a campaign arm of the Dems

If you thought Google's cryfest after Donald Trump's election was extreme, wait a few months. Sundar Pichai's company could be on the verge of real anguish -- and not because of who wins. If you thought bipartisanship in Washington was dead, Wednesday's Senate hearing should have made it clear: there's one thing the two sides agree on, and that's reining in Big Tech. They may have different motives, but Republicans and Democrats have news for America's social media moguls -- the squirming has just begun. Unfortunately for conservatives, it will be too late. The damage in this election cycle has already been done.

It's Easy to Predict the Loser in Tuesday's Election

Published: 02 November 2020

Nobody knows how the election will turn out, but we can say with confidence that this is the first election where so many trusted authorities in our country have tried to tip the scales so hard. Regardless of the outcome, the partisan unfairness we have seen through this election cycle will further erode what we need most in our country: a renewal of trust. Trust is down in almost every national institution. When the people don't trust government, private business, educational institutions and the media, our country becomes less stable. But those bemoaning the erosion of trust spend little time talking about how much the institutions in question have earned the lower regard they now hold.

We are just days from the most important election in modern times, and sanctimonious scolds are still telling conservatives they're immoral for supporting the main person fighting to prevent this nation's destruction.

Seriously? Your shaming isn't working. We don't believe we are betraying our values for standing with the person who is pursuing policies that will sustain America's liberty tradition and opposing those that will enslave and impoverish us.

Of the presidents in the modern era, many have been dealt a difficult hand by history, but perhaps none more so than Donald Trump.

In 1952, Harry Truman was in his third year of a stalemated war in Korea that was costing 200 American lives every week. He lost the New Hampshire primary to Sen. Estes Kefauver and decided to pack it in.

We are all created 'imago Dei' – beautifully, uniquely, in the image of God, with inherent worth. It is the same creed that is at the core of our American experiment and written into our founding documents – that we are all created equal and endowed by our creator with inalienable rights."

SALTY SEZ – Your Vote!!

  • Print

By Ray Simmons
Published: 29 October 2020

Salti Sez 095638The most important vote since Abraham Lincoln will take place next Tuesday. We listen to the polls and hear the predictions as to who will win…no one knows…but God. We may have told Him too many times that we don’t want Him messing with our lives – then the Democrats win! Or maybe enough of us still honor Him – then He gives us one last chance and lets the Republicans and Trump win. Even if Trump wins we conservatives have to hold control in the Senate and take control in the House; if this happens we may have sufficient control to save our nation and put the Ship of State on smooth sailing. We have been sleeping much too long. We failed to listen to the wake-up calls we were given in the 1930s and following, and our Christian Pastors, for the most part, failed to serve as watchmen on the wall, essentially leaving us to be sheep without shepherds. They should have taken lessons from their Black-Robed Brother Pastors of the seventeen hundreds. I’m a pretty old salt and whichever turn the election takes won’t make much difference in my life, I’ll be counting the bells before long anyway. But if the election takes the wrong turn the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will never know the kind of freedoms and opportunities you and I have had. That great privilege will have ended. Whether you believe it or not this vote is a vote for good or a vote for evil, it is not just a political exercise that can be corrected next time if we happen to make a mistake. It will most likely be the last time you get to vote if you make that mistake. The Constitution the Left abhors will find its way to the “round file.” No more free speech, no more second amendment, no more free thinking. Welcome to Orwell’s 1984.

Is Getting Trump Worth It?

By Walter Williams
Published: 29 October 2020

President Donald Trump is not the first president to be hated by a large segment of the American population. In more recent times, there was considerable hate for President Ronald Reagan. Even though the Democratic Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill and Reagan were polar opposites in their politics, they could be friends. Once, when Reagan confronted O'Neill about nasty things that he said about him in a newspaper, O'Neill replied, "That's just politics, after 6 o'clock we're buddies -- we're friends." Politics today has become something not seen in our history. The true tragedy is that many Americans have bought into the hate, destructiveness and plain nastiness and are seemingly ignorant or uncaring about its long-term consequences for our nation.

Less than an hour before the October 22 presidential debate, Tony Bobulinski, a former business partner of Hunter Biden and other members of the Biden family, held a brief Fox News press conference that could contribute to sinking Joe Biden’s campaign for the presidency.

He told the New York Post: “I don’t have a political ax to grind; I just saw behind the Biden curtain, and I grew concerned with what I saw.”

Bobulinski, 48, is a former U.S. Navy officer and international institutional investor. His net worth is estimated at $4.0 million. He was a college wrestler at Penn State, where he excelled in both athletics and academics.

Our hands may be wrinkled, but our spirits are still resolute.

We’ve all heard that sage observation that “getting old isn’t for the faint of heart, or for wimps”.  At the age of 83, I can verify the truth of that wisdom, as the “aches and pains” of the years constantly do battle with me.  Each week I seem to discover new joints that I never knew I had, and getting “started” in the morning is becoming  a painful challenge.  Younger folks sometimes question the abilities of “experienced” seniors, but are themselves often in a mental fog when we relate historical events that are perfectly clear to us, even though they may have occurred decades previously.  (True history is a “foreign concept” to many of our younger citizens, sadly.)
