The Four Declarations of Causes for Secession Do Not Prove the War Was Fought Over Slavery
- By Gene Kizer, Jr., Charleston Athenaeum Press
ACADEMIA'S ABSOLUTE PROOF that the War Between the States was fought over slavery is based primarily on the declarations of causes for the secession of four of the first seven Southern states to secede: South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi and Texas.
However, those four declarations prove nothing of the sort.
There were 13 Southern states represented in the Confederate government. That 13 included Missouri and Kentucky, which were divided states that did not actually secede. They remained Union slave states - two of six Union slave states - the entire war (WHAT! UNION SLAVE STATES! I thought the war was fought over slavery with the Union fighting to end slavery! Man, they should have started with their own country).
In fact, three of the six Union slave states - New Jersey, Kentucky and Delaware - had slavery several months after the war. It took the second 13th Amendment in December 1865 for slavery to end in those three Union slave states.
Secure the Vote - Nothing is More Important!
- By Kat Stansell - American Policy Center
Securing our precious right to vote is THE ONLY thing that can save this nation, and the freedoms it provides us. Our lives, quite literally, depend on it. Let that sink in. We are well into the process of losing our Republic to Communism. Let THAT sink in. In 2020, the legal, Constitutional government of America fell to a coup, well orchestrated and perpetrated with the help of fraudulent votes. The only way to take it back, short of the break-up of our Union, or bloody warfare in which both sides will lose, is to secure the vote, once and for all, in every precinct in the nation. The only way to make this happen, is to work from the local level, where each and every one of us has the power to make a difference. We are strongest in our own back yard, where we are surrounded by neighbors and friends who share the lives we lead, and all of the privileges therein. Communication is easier and more direct, less diluted, and people can and will come together in a shared cause. Freedom is the common denominator; your neighbors understand, for their lives depend on it too. Rural people share needs and wants, as do city dwellers. Working for a national group dilutes goals or even nullifies your impact. Today, working at the national level to correct voter fraud is inefficient and, really, ineffective, and almost farcical. Moreover, you don’t want to find yourself helping the feds who want to do you in!
BIG NEWS for Election Integrity in SC!
- By SCGOP
The South Carolina House of Representatives made some key amendments to Speaker Lucas's bill H.3444 and sent it back to the South Carolina Senate.
Here's the big points:
- Require all county election commissions fall under the State Election Commission. This is important because it requires all counties execute elections the same way. So voters in Lancaster County know their votes are being handled the same way was votes in Beaufort County.
- Bans "drop boxes" for ballots
- Continues to require the State Election Commission to conduct post-election audits and expand the different audit methods (including but not limited to: risk-limiting; hand-counts; third party vendor & ballot reconciliation) for all elections in the state. The conduct and result of ANY audit must be published on the Commission’s website upon completion.
- Requires that State Election Commission to report to the S.C. Attorney General or other appropriate law enforcement agency, any violation of state election laws
- Prohibits any county board of elections from accepting or expending private funds to conduct elections–like Facebook or the ACLU.
- Requires that a person may only vote in the last place that they registered to vote and that the act of registering or voting in a new location is evidence of intent to change domicile for purposes of voting.
Eastern European Mission Delivers 1.5 Million Bibles and Bible-based Materials to Eastern Europe During 2021
- By Eastern European Mission
More than 650,000 Children's Bibles Donated to Students in Croatian Public Schools
HURST, Texas -- Eastern European Mission (EEM), a group that has steadfastly worked to supply Bibles to Eastern European countries for the last 60 years, broke its 2020 record with the distribution of 1,529,668 Bibles and Bible-based materials into 32 nations and 23 languages – free of charge – in 2021. Even in the difficult era of COVID, EEM's total 2021 number is a 15% increase from the previous year.
Additionally, as part of a multi-year program, EEM donated 650,000 Children's Bibles to students in Croatian public schools.
"It's easy for us to be overwhelmed by the numbers; however, they have purpose and are inspiring," said Robert Burckle, President of EEM. "Behind these incredible statistics are real people whose lives are forever being changed by the 'Good News' that is taking hold of their hearts and transforming their lives."
Where is the Outrage from American Feminists, Women's Groups and Female Athletes Regarding the Brutal Treatment of Uyghur Women?
- By Christian Newswire
NEW YORK -- Stanton Public Policy/Purple Sash Revolution asks, "Why aren't American women's groups speaking out for Uyghur women during the Beijing Olympics?"
Stanton Public Policy Center calls their silence a "worldwide betrayal" of women's rights and freedoms.
In response to these horrific atrocities, Stanton Public Policy Center launched the global campaign, #LeastWatchedOlympics. It sends a clear message to the Chinese government the world stands in solidarity with Uyghur women and all those who are being brutalized in China, as we refuse to participate in the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games.
Biden Administration Funds Program that Would Provide Free Crack Pipes
- By Jack Baudion - News10
WASHINGTON (WTVO) — To limit infections among drug users, the Biden administration is creating a $30 million grant program for non-profits to buy crack pipes and other drug paraphernalia for addicts.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) program will provide funds to local governments and non-profits to distribute clean pipes to help make drug use safer for addicts, according to Newsweek. The deadline for applications was February 7th.
Biden, Dem Lawmakers Take Cash from Convicted Terrorist Financier
- By Jon Levine - New York Post
A convicted felon accused by the US government of supporting “the cause of violent jihad” — and promoting 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden — donated to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and a host of progressive Democrats following his release from prison, records show.
Emadeddin Muntasser, 57, and two of his associates were convicted in January 2008 on counts of conspiring to defraud the United States government, lying to the FBI and engaging in a scheme to conceal evidence. The charges stemmed from their operation of an Islamic charity that acted as a front to finance Islamic jihad abroad and lying about the organization in order to obtain tax-exemption status.
Corporate America Caves to China. Main Street America Must Not.
- By Lela Gilbert - Family Research Council
"The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat" -- a classic theme of competitive sports -- is being continuously broadcast on NBC as the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics competition unfolds. But the corporate-sponsored programming is not winning the massive audiences that once celebrated the global games. In fact, viewership is shockingly low. The opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics saw a historic slump in viewership, with just 16 million total viewers tuning in, down 43 percent from the previous games.
Why the plummeting ratings? Because a different kind of agony is upstaging these competitions, which have been dubbed "The Genocide Games." Many Americans are appalled by the Chinese government's horrifying abuse of more than a million Uyghur Muslims, innocent victims who are being tortured, raped, sterilized, and murdered in Xinjiang, China's massive complex of genocidal concentration camps.
Two outspoken U.S. Congressmen -- careful observers of the ongoing atrocities in China -- described their reasons for protesting the Chinese government's cynical use of the Olympic games as a distraction from its atrocities on "Washington Watch."

Who'll Keep Idaho Free, Safe and Great?
- By Michelle Malkin
Idaho is one of the top five reddest states in America -- for now. The majority of its citizens are rock-ribbed conservatives, pro-life, pro-law-and-order and devoutly Christian. Voters have chosen Republican presidential candidates every year there since 1952 (with the exception of 1964).
But while the mainstream perception might be that Idaho is immune to the kind of blue-wave transformations we've suffered in California, Washington state and Colorado, on-the-ground reality is shockingly divergent. On a recent trip to Boise, I learned from outspoken GOP Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin that educators overseeing Idaho schoolchildren -- and cops sworn to serve and protect all citizens -- are promoting the very kind of Southern Poverty Law Center-infused, anti-white, anti-American propaganda that you'd expect in Democrat strongholds.
Sarah Bloom Raskin -- Biden's Latest Anti-Freedom Nominee
- By Star Parker
With all the attention directed to President Joe Biden's commitment to nominate a Black woman to replace retiring Associate Justice Stephen Breyer on the Supreme Court, sadly lost is what we expect from our court and what we expect from our nation.
If we have detached from what our nation supposedly is about, what idea could we possibly have about what its top judiciary body is supposed to be about?
But this is what is happening. The American ideal that a just society is a free society is disappearing into the wind. And replacing it is the progressive idea that we give ultimate power to selected men and women to decide what our lives should be about.

Black History and Human Dignity for Life
- By Alveda King
"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
February is "Black History Month" in America. In commemoration, we are "boots on the ground" today with a visit to the Civil Rights Museum in Jackson, Mississippi. Jackson is also the seat of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization pending U.S. Supreme Court case dealing with the constitutionality of a 2018 Mississippi state law that banned abortion operations after the first 15 weeks of pregnancy.
We visit America's "Black History" today with hope ever rising in our hearts, for the human dignity of all Americans and all humanity, from the womb to the tomb, as we pray to end the injustices that sadly have taken place on the soil of our own country.
Democrats Colonialization of Sexual Orientation and Gender Ideology
- By Eagle Forum
This week, House Democrats are taking a radical step in expanding sexual orientation and gender ideology. They are posed to pass H.R. 3485, or the Global Respect Act.
This legislation prevents people, including foreigners and private citizens, who are deemed to have violated the human rights of those who identify as LGBTQ, from entering the United States.
At its roots, this legislation is a type of ideological colonialism advancing a radical and woke agenda that denies reality. In some instances, it may even undermine countries that uphold traditional beliefs of human sexual biology. In doing so, it is sure to violate the conscience rights of various individuals and their freedom of speech.
Pelosi Again Disqualifies Olympic Criticism
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
During Friday's opening ceremony, China kicked off its Genocide Games with an obvious PR stunt; one of two athletes who lit the Olympic cauldron was a woman of reportedly Uyghur heritage. The unmistakable message China is promoting is that Western criticism is incorrect, that there is no genocide against the Uyghurs in Xinxiang, that the U.S. declaration of genocide is baseless propaganda.
Hours later, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had a chance to set the record straight, but instead she told American athletes to stay quiet. "As I wish the athletes well, I do not encourage them to speak out against the Chinese government there because I fear for their safety if they do," she said on Friday. The comment doubled down on her widely criticized Thursday remark, "Do not risk incurring the anger of the Chinese government, because they are ruthless." The obvious question becomes: if the Chinese government is so ruthless, why are we participating in their Olympics at all? But according to Pelosi, it's fine to criticize the government for human rights abuses in America, where you possess constitutional rights and can speak without fear of reprisal, but don't criticize a government that actually commits human rights abuses because that's too dangerous. There was a time when Americans were not encouraged to cower before tyrants, but to defend the persecuted when it came to fundamental human rights.
Oppose H 3205 & All Other Applications for an Article V Convention
- By Joanna Martin, J.D., "Publius Huldah"
33 Active Article V Applications
Mark Meckler's "COS" organization promises that nothing can come out of an Article V Convention except proposed Amendments to our existing Constitution; and that these proposed amendments will "limit the power of the federal government."
But Robert P. George, a Member of the COS Legal Advisory Board, has already co-authored a new "conservative" Constitution which grants new powers to a new federal government and imposes gun control! Robert P. George is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations which seeks to move the United States into the North American Union. BJU to Host Annual Bible Conference
- By Randy Page - BJU
Bob Jones University will host its annual Bible Conference Feb. 15–18, on the BJU campus. This year’s theme, “Contending for the Faith” from Jude 3 will help attendees view issues through a biblical lens and rely on the sufficiency of Scripture.
“We invite the community to join us on campus for the services,” said BJU President Steve Pettit. “Our speakers will challenge, equip and encourage us as we seek to live out our faith in practical ways. Bible conference week is a time for us to step away from our daily routines and be refreshed by a focus on the truths found in God’s Word.”
Putin Wants His Own Monroe Doctrine
- By Pat Buchanan
When the Union was fighting to preserve itself in the Civil War, the France of Napoleon III moved troops into Mexico, overthrew the regime of Benito Juarez, set up a monarchy and put Austrian Archduke Maximilian von Habsburg on the throne as Emperor of Mexico -- one month before Gettysburg.
Preoccupied, the Union did nothing.
At war's end, in 1865, however, at the urging of Gens. Ulysses S. Grant and William Sherman, the Union sent 40,000 troops to the Mexican border.
Secretary of State William Seward dispatched Gen. John Schofield to Paris with the following instructions: "I want you to get your legs under Napoleon's mahogany and tell him he must get out of Mexico."

Understanding the Politics of the Civil War
- By Mike Scruggs
The Dramatic Political Party Changes from 1787 to 2022
Ludwell Johnson entitled his 1995 book on the American Civil War and Reconstruction, North against South: The American Iliad 1848 to 1877. His reference to Homer’s ancient Greek epic on war between Greeks and Trojans emphasizes the deep and continuing impact of the American Civil War on American culture. There have been more American books written about the Civil War than on any other subject except those related to the Bible and Christianity. Yet most Americans today have a pathetically shallow and faulty understanding of the historical background, causes, and consequences of the War and Reconstruction.
The principal reason for this is that a politically correct false narrative of the War and Reconstruction now dominates American academia, media, and politics. This dominance has increased almost exponentially with the spreading influence of Cultural Marxism, which has become more visible since the 1960s. However, much of the false narrative is derived from the human tendency to deny and coverup moral and intellectual failings and paste them over with noble-sounding propaganda and self-serving lies.
Why Are Liberals So Miserable?
- By Stephen Moore
I'm the kind of guy
Who never used to cry
The world is treatin' me bad
Misery -- The Beatles
Replacing former President Donald Trump with President Joe Biden was supposed to bring joy to the land from sea to sea. We were going to be a united people at last. Every problem known to man would get solved by cradle-to-grave government. Biden was even going to save us from the rise of the oceans.
But just the opposite: A survey by the University of Chicago found that record percentages of people in 2021 described themselves as "unhappy."
For most of the past 50 years, about 1 in 10 people have described themselves as unhappy. In 2021, 1 in 4 say they are unhappy. Typically, almost 1 in 3 say they are "very happy," and now less than 1 in 5 do. The happiness index is falling like a stone. People are depressed.
Gee, I wonder why the public is so glum all of a sudden.
Pastor Hopes to End Cancel Culture
- By Christian Newswire
WASHINGTON -- Pastor Jim Domen, who leads a national ministry engaging pastors in cultural issues impacting their communities, will hold a news conference Tuesday, Feb. 8, 11 a.m. ET at the U.S. Supreme Court requesting justices hear an appeal of his sexual orientation and religious discrimination lawsuit against the video platform Vimeo.
Domen, founder of Church United, a California-based ministry to more than 2,000 pastors, filed suit against Vimeo after the social media company shuttered Church United's account in November 2018, saying five of its videos promoted change therapy in violation of its terms of service.
The Vimeo policy in essence squelches their ability to share their own true-life stories, which contradict the narrative of LGBT advocates who falsely allege change isn't possible — and such therapy is harmful.
SC Still Has Hundreds of Bad Bridges Despite Gas-tax-hike Law
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
Last Friday, President Joe Biden visited Pittsburgh to tout his $1 trillion infrastructure law – just hours after a 50-year-old bridge there collapsed while a municipal bus and several cars were on it, resulting in injuries though no deaths.
In South Carolina, the S.C. Department of Transportation has identified 465 out of 750 “structurally deficient” bridges statewide to be replaced. But through December, DOT had completed only three bridge projects with more than $2.3 billion in revenues collected under the 2017 gas-tax-hike law, recently released agency records show.
And the number of finished projects, as well as the total number of bridge projects (16) identified by DOT to be completed with gas-tax-hike revenues, hasn’t changed since last May 31, as The Nerve first revealed in July. Of the $2.32 billion in collected revenues through Dec. 31, just $18.1 million, or less than 1% of the total, was designated for “additional” bridge projects.
Biden and His Commie Masters Are After Our Guns!
- By W.H. Lamb
We’ve been hearing much of late from the senile presidential imposter who lives (at least part of the time) at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in the District of Criminals and Corruption. One of his current favorite babbling points is his assurance to his subjects that he is going to go after all those “illegal firearms” that are wandering to and fro all over our nation, seeking whom they might maim and kill. After all, he assures us in his best whispery, gravely voice, “the Second Amendment is not absolute”, nor does it protect rights of those pesky people who have the temerity to actually believe our increasingly ignored Constitution is still the law of the land, and it surely doesn’t give those gun-loving fanatics in our midst the right to buy any kind of commonly used firearms---especially those evil “AR-15 assault rifles” that are used only to kill large numbers of people (but which, of course, are NOT ‘assault rifles’ which are for the military only). And, he assures us in his wise professorial voice, the “2nd Amendment surely didn’t give our colonial ancestors the right to go out and “buy cannons”. Just listen to me, he orders, and I’ll keep you safe from those violent everyday citizens who insist on clinging to their guns (AND to their Bibles and their religions) in their neighborhoods. And, he promises, I’ll use our national capital bureaucrats to assist in protecting ‘the people’ from those evil firearms—bureaucrats who. even now, are digitizing millions of ILLEGALLY maintained firearm purchase records in preparation for a campaign of CONFISCATION, which with absolutely NO doubt is the goal of Comrade Biden and his fellow Bolsheviks!
Beijing 2022: A Golden Opportunity to Hold China Accountable
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
As much as China wants to dominate the ice and slopes at this year's Olympics, winning medals is only part of the goal. Its greatest victory, the regime knows, would be rehabilitating its global image. And in some ways, the propaganda game has already been won. Not only did Beijing win the hosting job from the International Olympic Committee over the world's objections, but it managed to convince some of the planet's biggest advertisers to pour their money into a country that spends its free time committing mass atrocities against its own people. Atrocities, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) argues, our athletes should ignore.
The Taxpayers Need YOU to Vote!
- By Anne Schlafly Cori, Chairman, Eagle Forum
The most important election this year is your school board. Every single voter needs to vote in this local election. Here is why electing a responsive school board is critically important to you and your community:
1. Taxpayers need a return on their investment. We spend a lot of money to educate the children of our neighbors because we want a thriving community. Employers need educated and skilled workers to hire. Our community needs the next generation of responsible citizens who are educated and can work and contribute to society.
2. Schools should provide real education with metrics to assess. The elimination of grades and testing is detrimental to academic achievement. Both parents and teachers need to assess the effectiveness of the teaching. Students should be assigned homework. For evidence of the dumbing down of scholastics, look at the new changes to the SAT: shorter test, shorter questions, and shorter answers. The result is less learning.
For the Skeptic
- By Ben Graydon
Some are driven to just believe whatever the doctor / lawyer / judge / preacher / talking-head says. The fact that we must resort to “alternative media” platforms to publish inconvenient truths is evidence that most just tend to flow the direction of the current, not actively engaged in critical thinking but tending to believe the “authorities.” No matter that the struggle of mankind since Adam and Eve engaged with the serpent has been obedience to God’s call to use the gifts that He gave us, including a reasoning, thinking mind, to uncover the truth about the claims that confront us. It was, therefore, only a matter of time before a defender of the status quo would arise to challenge this writer’s challenges to the allegations of a real pandemic, driven by a real virus, and being fought by a real vaccine. As has been clearly stated here over the past few weeks, none of that is true, but don’t just take my word for it.
