South Carolina House Passes Resolution to Term Limit Congress
- Details
- By US Term Limits
Columbus, SC -- Today, the South Carolina House passed House Concurrent Resolution (HCR3008), which notifies Congress that South Carolina seeks to participate in an amendment convention for the sole purpose of proposing a congressional term limits amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The effort, led by Rep. Cal Forrest and spearheaded by the nonpartisan nonprofit U.S. Term Limits, passed with a voice vote.
It is clear that the people of South Carolina agree with the successful outcome. According to the latest RMG Research poll, 79% of likely voters in South Carolina support term limits on Congress, including strong support among Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike.
Hold Your Congressmen Accountable to the Constitution!

Do you know how your congressmen voted on important legislation?

Learn how they voted by reading the fourth (and final) “Freedom Index” for the 118th Congress, which was published in the January 27, 2025 issue of The New American magazine. Also, please print and distribute our Congressional Scorecards, which are an easy way to inform others about how your congressmen are voting.
We live at a time when our federal government routinely usurps powers not granted to it by the Constitution. This is leading to an increasingly out-of-control Big Government that routinely infringes on our basic rights (property rights, privacy rights, religious liberties, right to bear arms, etc.). These infringements have grown worse with the Covid-19 overreach, climate-change tyranny, and Great Reset implementation that are betraying the very foundation of our Republic.
Does Quantum Physics Prove God Exists?
- Details
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
The topic of quantum physics is one that has fascinated scientists and others for decades. On the surface, it may seem like a dry, abstract field of study, but scratch beneath the surface and you'll find that it has far-reaching implications for our understanding of the universe. Let’s look quantum physics to see if it holds evidence for God's existence!
Christianity and atheism are not just different views about God, they are actually different views about reality as a whole. Each of these perspectives gives us different ideas as to what we should expect when we look closely at reality. Before looking at what quantum mechanics says about the existence of God need to see what we should expect from both of these views of reality and then compare them to quantum mechanics to see which one is the better fit. Furthermore, we need to look at which direction quantum mechanics naturally tend to lead us when it is properly understood.
PARIS MOUNTAIN HOTEL: Letter to SC Legislators About Annexation Reform
- Details
- By Crystal Bulman - Travelers Rest
Dear Legislator,

Please support Rep. Wooten’s bill H3165. This is a great opportunity to reach a compromise on annexation reform. As you know, SC is one of the top states to move to. And while this is a desirable thing, there are some real consequences to residents in terms of infrastructure and quality of life. Proponents of annexation reform are looking for more, but we understand change takes time.
Below is some further reform we are looking for – with reasons why.
Grant legal standing to county governments to more efficiently manage municipal annexations within their jurisdiction. Currently, municipalities do not have to notify the county of annexations- H3165 seeks to change this. However, counties still need standing, which we would need to add on. Annexation puts burdens on the community/county creating developments that stress county and state roads, overpopulate schools, and ultimately require county help with sewer/wastewater and require costly upgrades for the county residents. This is inefficient government. Counties need standing to create more efficient government and stewardship of local resources. They need more recourse to require joint planning and coordination.
4 Policies the Trump Admin Can Adopt to End the Persecution of Pro-Life Advocates
- Details
- By Ben Johnson - The Washington Stand

After four years of legal victimization by the Biden-Harris administration, pro-life advocates breathed a sigh of relief when President Donald Trump took office. The president promptly set about reversing the Left’s weaponization of government, ordering the Justice Department to drop prosecutions of peaceful sidewalk counselors and pardoning nearly two dozen Christians targeted by a Democratic Party that relies heavily on donations from the abortion industry. But now, constitutional attorneys have listed four additional ways the Trump administration — which has delivered a palpable conservative agenda through executive orders — could rectify the federal government’s targeting of the pro-life movement without having to consult with another branch of government.
PARIS MOUNTAIN HOTEL: The Divine Group's Traffic Study, Water Jurisdiction and Protected Species Impact Reports Dissected
- Details
- By Calvin D. Armerding, MA, LPC - Senior Associate of Travelers Rest Counseling Associates, LLC
At long last, The Divine Group (the folks attempting to annex/build the hotel) released their much talked-about traffic study, along with a water jurisdiction and protected species impact report.https://divinegroup.us/the-inn-at-altamont/
While much could be said about the studies, don't miss the forest for the trees. The main things to notice are as follows:
The traffic study only took into consideration hotel/hotel guest traffic. No restaurant, no bar, no spa, and- most importantly- no event space! If you really believe that after an event for 750 people, traffic is going to peak out around 85 trips over the course of an hour, I don't really know what to tell you. A moderate estimate for the number of cars at a 750 person event is 375 cars (which btw, is 45 more cars than the proposed parking lot holds). For all of those cars to leave if there are only 85 car trips per hour, we're assuming that folks will leave the event with even distribution over the course of FOUR AND A HALF HOURS. Completely nonsense. The study is basically useless in describing the actual impact that the proposed development (which is much more than a hotel) will have on Altamont Rd. and the surrounding intersections. Until we see a traffic report that is based on an accurate description of what the planned development actually is, I would urge everyone to remain incredibly skeptical of the information they released.
Georgia State Senator Files Bill to Unplug Dominion Voting System

ATLANTA -- Georgia State Senator Colton Moore (R-53) filed Senate Bill 303 late last week to replace Georgia’s current statewide Dominion Democracy Suite 5.5 Ballot Marking Device (BMD) voting system with hand marked paper ballots and publicly recorded hand counts. The bill reverts the conduct of elections to current Georgia paper ballot statutes. It appears to resolve security complaints filed in federal and state lawsuits against the system and some security concerns raised by President Trump about the conduct of United States elections.

Looking forward to the Budget
Education Freedom
Last week, the SC House passed S.62 with added amendments. This bill was strengthened in the Education Committee process thanks to Chairlady, Shannon Erickson (Beaufort) and SCFC member Chris Huff (Greenville). The bill would bring school choice to South Carolina in the form of an Education Scholarship Trust Fund which would grant scholarships to families to use at public schools or private schools. By year 4, any student in South Carolina will be eligible to apply for a scholarship to attend a school that suits their needs regardless of their zip code. For too long the government has had a monopoly on secondary education which has resulted in predictably unfavorable educational outcomes, indoctrination, and destruction of parental rights. This bill will empower parents to use their tax dollars to send their child to the school that best reflects their goals and values.
Senate Democrats Throw America’s Daughters under the Bus on Girls’ Sports
- Details
- By Suzanne Bowdey - The Washington Stand

When you’re as unpopular as today’s Democrats, the typical response is to try to find a way back into voters’ good graces. Not so for this party, which seems amazingly determined to stay in America’s doghouse. Instead of shedding their trans extremism, Democrats are clinging to it — ignoring the message 80% of the country is sending and killing any dream of a political comeback in the process.
Monday’s vote on girls’ sports protections should have been an easy lift in a nation that overwhelmingly rejects the idiocy that allows biological boys onto our daughters’ teams. But, as disillusioned Democrats have come to learn, nothing is easy for Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) party — a fact that this movement’s champions still can’t believe. “Do they have kids?” former San Jose State University volleyball player Brooke Slusser demanded to know. “If this were your daughter, how would you feel watching her lose opportunities, face unfair competition, and be put at risk all while knowing you had the power to stop it?” the teammate of trans-identifying Blaire Flemingasked. “… [I]t’s just not fair. I feel like I could go on and on to them about it. I just don’t see how they could support it.”

Turf War: How a Liquor-Liability Reform Bill Died in the S.C. Senate

In South Carolina, lawyers represent far less than 1% of the state’s total workforce, but they make up nearly 30% of the 170-member S.C. Legislature.
And in the club of 50 lawyer-legislators, those who practice personal injury law or whose law firm colleagues handle those types of cases dominate that group – at least 27 of the 30 attorneys in the 124-member House and at least 17 of the 20 lawyers in the 46-member Senate, The Nerve found in a review of law firm websites, lawmakers’ social media accounts, and online biographies and other reliable sources.
Their influence, which crosses party lines – a total of at least 26 Republicans and 18 Democrats in the two chambers – has been particularly evident in recent years in the debate over reform of the state’s liquor liability laws.
Cautionary Tales of American Tariff History
- Details
- By Mike Scruggs

Revenue Tariffs, Protective Tariffs, and Reciprocal Tariffs
Tariffs were the main source of Federal Government revenue until the 1913 Revenue (Underwood) Act lowered the tariff rate from an average 40 percent to an average of 27 percent and introduced very low corporate and individual income taxes. Individuals making over $3,000 per year paid only one to six percent, and in 1913, this only applied to three percent of the population. The corporate tax was only one percent. With expanded concepts of government responsibility and spending, these rates drifted higher with wars and more liberal social spending in later years. War has an inflationary and disrupting effect on Federal spending and monetary inflation, which often persists in following years. President Woodrow Wilson, who had campaigned for tariff and tax reform in 1912, signed the Act into law on October 3, 1913.

With all this excitement, it is easy to miss some of the seemingly small but mighty bills that undo parts of Biden’s leftover agenda. The House moved on two of those items this week.
It’s Time for America’s Relationship with Ukraine to Change—How about a Divorce?

- By Joseph M. Bianchi
The war in Ukraine has dragged on now for some three years. The United States has stood by Ukraine and the Zelensky government with both armaments and finances, to the tune of $350 Billion.
For a moment, let’s put aside who attacked who and the reasons for the war. When one ally is helping a smaller ally to help its country to survive, there should be a degree of decorum and thankfulness. Such was not the case when Mr. Zelensky visited Washington this past Friday. Zelensky’s disrespect and lack of thankfulness to America and Trump was on full display to the whole world via the media. In an extraordinary exchange, Trump and Zelensky made their disagreements public. One would have to think that the President knew what was coming, and wanted to be sure the American people saw what he and his administration must deal with.
Removing the Christian Corner Stone from Our Country

- By Lyle J. Rapacki, Ph.D. - Arizona Today

America's founding documents clearly demonstrate that our founders believed God ordained this nation. It was Benjamin Franklin addressing the Constitutional Convention on June 28, 1787, cautioning his fellow founders of America with these words: "God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?" May I add to Mr. Franklin's statement, "Is it probable that an empire can remain without His aid?" Our founders had a strong sense of God's presence in the work they were accomplishing, birthing this nation. They reminded each other frequently in whose service they truly were. But something bad has happened in America, and it didn't occur overnight or over a few years. Americans lost their desire to cooperate with God, much less trust Him in the affairs of state.

Another Great Executive Order

President Trump just signed a new executive order that designates English as the official language of the United States, which reverses an order from Bill Clinton. Thirty states have already endorsed English as their official language.
It is worth going back in time to review why Americans should have English as our official language. Here is what Phyllis Schlafly, the founder and president of Eagle Forum, wrote in 1995:
How do we make Americans out of people who come here from so many other continents and cultures? Surely the best, quickest, most obvious, and most efficient way is to teach them to speak English. The English language is the admission ticket to our social, political and economic mainstream. Without it, immigrants will be forever relegated to menial jobs.
Is Embryonic Development Evidence for Universal Common Descent?
- Details
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
Evolutionists often cite comparative embryology as evidence for universal common descent. This idea originated from recapitulation theory, which assumed fetal development mirrors evolutionary history, but is this really plausible or simply imaginative speculation?
The concept known as recapitulation theory, which posits that fetal development mirrors evolutionary development, was formulated by Étienne Serres in the 1820s, predating Charles Darwin's *Origin of Species* by several decades. This theory was grounded in the earlier work of Johann Friedrich Meckel. Ernest Haeckel, known as Darwin's bulldog, is infamous for promoting evolutionary theory with a fraudulent embryo chart that remained in textbooks long after being debunked.
Ukraine’s President Ready For Minerals Deal With US Despite Disastrous Talks

KYIV/BUDAPEST/LONDON (Worthy News) – Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday he still hopes for “constructive” talks with the United States after his made-for-tv verbal clash with U.S. President Donald J. Trump and signaled his readiness to sign a $500 billion minerals deal with Washington.
Yet speaking at a summit in London, Zelenskyy warned he would “not accept giving any occupied territory away to Russia” and urged the West to remember that “Russia is the aggressor” as it invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
While Trump was unlikely to welcome these words, Zelenskyy said he is ready to “move the conversation forward” after Friday’s fiasco, adding that his difficult meeting with Trump was “best left to history.”
For Whom the Zelle Tolls

One of the more baffling lawsuits in the final days of the Biden administration was the complaint against Zelle, the popular money transfer network. The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau argued that, despite Zelle's service being free, the network's users were being ripped off.
Now that the Trump administration has all but closed the CFPB down, this is the first of many lingering lawsuits that should be tossed out.
In its short, inglorious history, the CFPB harassed businesses with hundreds of millions of dollars of frivolous complaints that enriched trial lawyers, while doing nothing of consequence to actually help consumers.

Many years ago, even before the county party became as acostic as it currently is, a very successful businessman and board member of one of our state universities resigned his precinct position. He said he supported the leadership as we were returning the party to its mission, but said, “life is too short to waste time with these negative people.” We couldn’t argue with his wisdom.
The once flagship of county parties has now become a well-known dumpster fire. Party officers have caused division and viciously attack anyone who questions their actions. A picture from their February meeting shows scores less in attendance than the last February meeting I chaired, dozens less in precincts represented, almost no elected officials, and many long-time conservatives were nowhere to be found.

This image is not just symbolic of one meeting; it represents the hundreds of emails, calls, and conversations we have had with residents from across all districts of Greenville County regarding this issue. The overwhelming public engagement makes it abundantly clear: this is not just a Travelers Rest issue, nor is it merely a municipal matter. Especially while the property is under County jurisdiction, this is a countywide concern that demanded a response.

Reading Trump—Advice for Trump
The false narrative that the Ukraine War was an “unprovoked” invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, is now beginning to unravel, although the truth was plain to those who did not confine their facts, history, and analysis to the Cold-War-Think narrative that the Russian Federation is still the Soviet Union of 1945 to 1987. The real facts also recognized an important truth—approximately 40 percent of the population of pre-2014 Ukraine is ethnically and culturally either Russian (18%) or a mixture of Russian and Ukrainian (22%). The Russian Federation felt their national security was seriously threated when NATO, pushed by the US in 2008, targeted Ukraine and Georgia to become part of NATO. In 2014, the US under President Barack Obama, then VP Joe Biden, Asst. Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, and recent National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan backed a coup to overthrow the duly elected President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych.
