Anti-Israel Columbia Students Attempt University-Jacking
- By Joshua Arnold - The Washington Stand
Radical, left-wing student groups at Columbia University are recruiting students for a “tuition strike” for the spring 2024 semester until the university meets a long list of demands. The agitators insist on control of the university’s finances, removal of university trustees, and changes to the Public Safety department that would render it unable to control campus protests in favor of Hamas. But the student radicals may have overestimated their leverage.
The strike is organized by a “coalition between the Barnard Columbia Abolitionist Collective, the Young Democratic Socialists of America [DSA], and Student-Worker Solidarity.” DSA in particular has released an activism “toolkit” to help standardize nationwide demonstrations that are not only pro-Palestinian/anti-Israel but pro-Hamas/anti-Jew.
It’s Time to Get the U.S. out of the U.N. and W.H.O.

Eagle Forum Endorses the DEFUND Act to Protect American Sovereignty
Eagle Forum is pleased to endorse the Disengaging Entirely From the United Nations Debacle “DEFUND” Act, introduced in both the Senate and House by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), Chip Roy (R-TX), and Mike Rogers (R-AL). The bill will protect our national sovereignty by withdrawing the United States from the United Nations (U.N.) and World Health Organization (W.H.O.), preventing all voluntary contributions to these organizations, removing the United States from all U.N. conventions or agreements, and requiring ratification by the United States Senate as a condition of rejoining any U.N.-affiliated entity.
Tax Bill Higher? Thank a "Republican"
- By Greenville County Councilman Steve Shaw
"Republican" majority on Council Enabled Largest Tax Increase.
Why did they propose and pass the largest tax increase in Greenville County history? To subsidize developers under "affordable housing" schemes, to increase the amount of empty city busses on our roads, to build a luxurious new county government building, and to subsidize expensive conservation easements instead of creating more parks and sports fields for the public.
Were it not for the scrutiny of conservative, smaller-government, lower-tax Council members like Benton Blount, Rick Bradley, Stan Tzouvelakis, and me, this (already) outrageous tax rate increase would have been much more. The original ask by the County Administrator, promoted by Chairman Dan Tripp and his followers, was for over 11 mills! I pushed back, demonstrating with numbers that we could fully fund law enforcement, public safety, and all needed services without any increase. I was proposing ways to decrease your taxes! If you look at the graphic above, the new increase brings in about an additional $13 million over the year before. This amount corresponds directly with $10 million for "affordable housing" subsidies to developers, and about $3 million to subsidize city busses and conservation easements.

Victorious Family Ignites Nationwide Movement for Family Discipleship
ATLANTA -- Victorious Family, an international nonprofit, is sparking a nationwide movement for family discipleship as the path toward reviving America’s family-centered faith and character. Details about this movement are published here in a Special Section of The Washington Times.

Graduates Encouraged to Navigate Life's Changes Through Faith
- By Billy Cannada - NGU
Challenging graduates to ponder what the title of their six-word memoir might be, Rev. Wesley Church delivered the Commencement address at North Greenville University Friday night, marking the conclusion of the fall semester.
“As you look at all that lies ahead in your life, what might be said to sum it all up in the end?” Church asked. “One thing I am certain of is that everyone could write a memoir that repeats the title of the book, ‘Not Quite What I Was Planning,’” referencing the work by Larry Smith and Rachel Fershleiser.

- By The John Birch Society
ACT NOW: South Carolina lawmakers are seeking to enact legislation nullifying unconstitutional federal deployments of the South Carolina National Guard.
House Bill 4533 (H.4533) is sponsored by Representative Thomas Beach (R-Piedmont). It would prevent combat deployments of the South Carolina National Guard by the federal government in the absence of a congressional declaration of war or another constitutional reason in accordance with Article I, Section 8, Clauses 11 and 15, of the U.S. Constitution.
The Patriotism of Sen. Tommy Tuberville
- By Star Parker
After some 10 months blocking hundreds of promotions for senior military officers, Sen. Tommy Tuberville relented and backed off, allowing some 400 promotions to be confirmed by the Senate.
Tuberville stalled Senate confirmation for military promotions in order to pressure the Defense Department to back off its newly hatched policy on abortion in which DOD -- i.e., U.S. taxpayers -- will foot the bill for women in the military to travel out of the state where they are residing to get an abortion.
The policy was set forth after the Supreme Court ruling overturning the Roe v. Wade decision.

Thousands of Women Injured by Abortion, Including the Chemical Abortion Pill, will File a Supreme Court Brief to Uphold the Fifth Circuit's Decision for the Protection of Women from the Abortion Industry
- By The Justice Foundation
SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Thousands of Women Injured by Abortion, represented by The Justice Foundation, plan to file a brief at the United States Supreme Court asking the Supreme Court to protect women from the lies, deceit, and fraudulent "healthcare" of the abortion industry.
One woman who had the chemical abortion pill says, "What they failed to tell me was what was going to truly happen, the intense cramping, the bleeding, the large pieces of bloody tissue I would pass, the nausea, the weakness. I thought I was going to die there all alone. I was sure I needed medical attention but I was afraid of the exposure of what I had done."

Why do Genetic Algorithms Show Natural Selection to be Unworkable?
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
Natural selection is frequently used by evolutionists as a magic wand that can accomplish anything that they need to. However, the capacities of natural selection are assumed and the most critical have never actually been demonstrated. Genetic algorithms, a type of computer program that uses a selection process to search through possibilities for a solution, have been touted by evolutionists as evidence that natural selection can make universal common descent evolution possible. However, when these algorithms are analyzed and compared to natural selection, they show that natural selection is completely incapable of doing the job the evolutionists require of it.
What Should Happen When Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Take Over the Roads
- By Veronique de Rugy
The government has a dilemma: It's pushing hard for fuel-efficient vehicles, but gas taxes pay for roads. There's an obvious fix, but are Americans ready for it?
Granted, tax credits, subsidies and government mandates aren't delivering the electric-vehicle sales surge the Biden administration promised. Tax breaks for non-wealthy buyers are proving less effective than predicted by government planners, and automakers like Toyota are seeing increased interest from consumers in more affordable and practical hybrids.
What S.C. Officials Don't 'Really, Really' Want You to Know About Incentives
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
“Tell me what you want, what you really, really want.”
It’s not entirely clear if Gov. Henry McMaster, 76, is a devoted fan of the 1990s British pop group, Spice Girls, but he gave a short, modified version of their 1996 hit song, “Wannabe,” at a recent meeting of the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, according to a story published by the South Carolina Daily Gazette.
The Republican McMaster used the song’s lyrics to describe the state’s position on providing taxpayer-funded training to companies seeking to locate or expand in South Carolina – which is commonly part of large incentives deals and can total in the millions of dollars, as The Nerve has pointed out over the years.

Malik’s book had an enthusiastic 25- page forward written by Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq who, following a 1977 coup had made himself President of Pakistan in 1978. An Early Christmas Story—Again!
- By W.H. Lamb
![Lamb 2023 Christmas Early](/images/18-08/Lamb---2023-Christmas-Early.jpg)
Note: This touching story was published in The Times Examiner last December 2022. But it touched a lot of people. “Christmas”, as we all should know, is NOT about Santa Claus and his reindeer bringing us presents, nor about snowmen or “grinches”. It’s not even about “Charlie Brown” and his wonderful recitation of the true meaning of Christmas, right from God’s Word. (THANK YOU, Charles Schultz for your brave stand, long ago, against CBS). It’s not really about family gatherings, with special dinners, although they are usually memorable. It’s not about getting lots of presents, mostly stuff we don’t really need. Christmas is more about “giving”, more about focusing on one’s true faith and sharing it with others. It’s about doing, not just talking. Christmas is about----------well, I’ll leave that up to you to decide.
Do Creationists Hold a Conspiracy Theory?
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
The charge is sometimes made the creation is claim that evolutionary scientists in the government are hiding evidence in support of Biblical creation. While there may be some that take this kind of position, they are a definite minority. This claim requires a couple of false ideas. The first is that interpreting evidence is 100% objective and that some powerful evolutionists see the truth and are hiding it from people. Neither one of these is true, nor doesn't need to be for creation to be correct.

Why Does Washington Want to Destroy America's 'Magnificent 7'?
- By Stephen Moore
Nothing exemplifies America's tech industry dominance in the global economy more than the meteoric rise of what is now being called the "Magnificent Seven" stocks -- Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla. These companies single-handedly account for nearly all the gains in the stock market this year. They -- which is to say we as American shareholders who own them -- have a net worth of nearly $10 trillion.
Think about it. None of these gazelles are Japanese, German or Chinese. All seven are American companies. They are globally dominant. They are innovators nearly unrivaled in human history. Amazingly, you would think their best years are behind them, like an aging baseball player. No. They are getting stronger, not weaker.
Is Eating Meat Bad For You? 5 Myths Debunked
- By Press Release
They say eating meat is bad for you and the environment. We’re here to debunk those myths and more!
Looks like meat’s back on the menu.
These days, you needn't look far to find claims that meat is unhealthy. The anti-meat crowd has grown into an entire industry, empowering themselves with a laundry list of claims like:
-
Eating meat is generally bad for you
-
It leads to heart disease, stroke, and diabetes
-
And meat hurts the environment
The people who cite these claims may be well-intentioned, but they are not well-informed. The science that guides them is not only outdated but, in many cases, it was wrong from the start.

Lewis has served the county as sheriff since 2020.
FBI Raids Traditional Catholic Family’s Home over Son’s Memes
- By S.A. McCarthy - The Washington Stand
The Biden administration’s FBI is once again targeting faithful Catholic Americans by raiding a Catholic family’s home. According to a report from American Greatness, the Rufini family were “dragged out of their home at gunpoint, handcuffed and locked in a van” by FBI agents earlier this year.
According to Jeremiah Rufini, his 15-year-old son was targeted for posting allegedly “offensive” memes online and in social media group chats, prompting the FBI’s raid. Rufini also alleges that undercover FBI agents infiltrated “right wing” social media chat groups, befriended his son there, and convinced or “goaded” him to generate content which they could then target.
DeSantis Addresses Packed House at Greer Depot

A standing-room-only crowd of over 500 Republican voters and activists sardined themselves into the Historic Greer Depot this past Friday morning to hear from presidential candidate Ron DeSantis.
The Florida governor was in the Palmetto state stumping in Greer and later in Prosperity. South Carolina always receives a lot of attention from presidential aspirants during election season because of our early primary.
Several local elected officials were in attendance, including state Senator Josh Kimbrell, who introduced DeSantis. The Bob Jones Academy orchestra provided Christmas music for the event. WORD 98.9 talk show hosts Tara Servatius and Charlie James served as moderators.

Deadly Storm Clouds Rising

While America Sleeps
![Deadly Storm Clouds Rising](/images/18-08/Deadly-Storm-Clouds-Rising.jpg)
It has been 248 years since the American Colonies declared their independence from Great Britain. Through the awesome Providence of God’s favor, He raised us up from insignificance and brought us through many hardships, dangers, and struggles to become the most powerful, most prosperous, and most freedom-blessed nation in the world. We have spent our tears and blood in this continuous struggle, but it was the Lord of Hosts who guided us and planted and nurtured our determination to persevere. We have raised mighty armies and mighty industries, and achieved spectacular technological advances, but it was always though His kind Providences that we succeeded in our building and in our victories. It has always been His invisible but invincible Arm that has defended us and brought confusion and defeat upon our enemies.
Will a nation that turns its back upon its God-given blessings and protection from its enemies do so without consequences? Will a nation that turns its back upon God’s Word and teachings continue to prosper? Will a nation that openly defies God’s standards long enjoy peace and security? In his 1978 Commencement address at Harvard University, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn summed up how the Russian people had fallen into what turned out to be over 70 years of oppression, suffering, and brutality under Soviet Communism, in which some 60 million people were “swallowed up:”
Mohler: Left-Wing Anti-Semitism Motivated by 'Hatred of God'
- By Joshua Arnold - The Washington Stand
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday took the rare step of rebuking his own party’s left flank for anti-Semitism, criticizing them for believing that the principle, “Injustice against one oppressed group is injustice against all … does not extend to the Jewish people.” Schumer usually deploys his speeches to benefit Democrats at Republicans’ expense, but an increasing tally of violent anti-Semitic incidents in progressive strongholds has grown too glaring to ignore. In a Thursday conversation on “Washington Watch,” Southern Seminary President Albert Mohler said left-wing attacks on Jews ultimately boiled down to their “hatred of God.”
Supreme Court Justice Defends Secretive Disciplinary System
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
At a recent S.C. House special committee hearing on judicial reform, Supreme Court Justice John Kittredge touted the “almost non-existent” number of ethics violations committed by state judges.
“Each week, members of the judiciary receive a report of all the ethical violations of judges around the country, and regrettably, it’s a pretty long list,” Kittredge said at the Nov. 7 hearing, the first of two public meetings held so far by the committee.
“But what you don’t see on that long list for every other state in the country,” Kittredge, 67, of Greenville, continued, “is you don’t see reports of South Carolina judges being reprimanded, being sanctioned, being removed.”
The Past Is Always “Prologue," But So Is The Present!
- By W.H. Lamb
![The White Ship Lamb](/images/18-08/The-White-Ship---Lamb.jpg)
THE TRAGIC STORY OF “THE WHITE SHIP”
First off, let’s define the word: “prologue”. Webster’s defines it as ‘anintroductory or preceding event or development’. In a literary work it is often called a ‘preface’, a commentary or explanation that the author includes to clarify the story or the facts that are to follow. The term, ‘the past is prologue’, tells us that, in real life, almost EVERYTHING in the past can bea prologue—or a causative event-- to whatfollows it. Thus, my responding to my “four-legged alarm clock” at 8:30 a.m., and dragging myself out of bed this morning was my ‘prologue’ to getting her breakfast and taking her out for her “morning activity”. That’s a fairly easy concept to grasp. What is more complicated to fathom is how the past of each one of us—I mean the really “long gone past”—has affected who we are, into what family we were born, and even in what country we originated. Now that’s kind of deep, isn’t it? In addition, it’s quite fascinating to “conjecture” various “present scenarios” resulting from a series of “past prologues” that might have happened but didn’t, e.g. a person of the past never existed or an event of the past never occurred. How would that affect our present? In some cases perhaps not at all, or only minimally. In other cases world history would be changed.
