John the Baptist Vico, Philosopher of Divine Providence
- By Winston McCuen - South Carolina
Nations are mortal. They live and they die. And the United States — as recent mounting crises suggest — is no exception. To weather these storms, Americans need the wisdom and perspective provided by Holy Scripture and by true, Christian philosophy.
The Italian philosopher Giambattista Vico (1668-1744) is a critically important figure in the Western intellectual tradition. He was a true, Christian philosopher who explained, in deep ways, how history is God's providence and how the human mind, to become truly educated, must be cultivated in proper order through the liberal arts and sciences.
House GOP Struggle to Elect a Speaker
- By Eagle Forum
The U.S. House of Representatives is still without a Speaker. The hope of the Republican conference nominating the candidate on Tuesday and electing him on Wednesday came to a screeching halt when it became clear that the various factions could not coalesce behind one of the nominees.
After former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was ousted from his position last Tuesday by Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and seven other Republicans, the GOP conference began the hard work of finding an individual to serve as Speaker who could receive the support of 217 Republicans. Both Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) threw their hats in the ring for the position, and each had strong supporters and definite detractors. Even though both members have solidly conservative voting records, the ability of to garner the necessary votes was an issue, as well as Representative Scalise’s diagnosis of blood cancer (for which he is currently receiving treatment).
The Cult of 'Forever Low' Interest Rates Had to End Sometime
- By Veronique de Rugy
Countless financial soothsayers and Wall Street wizards were once members of a curious cult. Their doctrine? The unshakable belief that interest rates had managed to find something resembling the fabled Fountain of Youth, leaving their numbers eternally low and never rising. The "Forever Low" brigade dismissed those of us who argued that high government debt was unsustainable and, partly because low repayment rates would not last forever, we should control spending.
Has The GCRP Been Infiltrated by the Socialist-Communist Ideology?
- By Ana Artiel Helms
Watch what they do - listen to what they say.
In the last business meeting of the GCRP, held on October 2, 2023, the creation of a “Committee on Discipline” was proposed by a member and elected officer of the party to our GCRP Chairman. The proposed “Committee on Discipline” was followed by the introduction of the proposal as a motion under new business, as it was out of order and did not follow the Roberts Rules of Order as it should be. This proposed “committee” appears to be a tactic out of the socialist-communist playbook of the Former Soviet Union and other socialist-communist-led countries and their disciplinary methods.
As someone who comes from a family that suffered the injustices, abuse, and persecutions inflicted by the socialist-communist government during the Second Republic, which was notorious for its brutal and indiscriminate persecution and massacres of unarmed civilians. The torture and killing of Catholics, Christians and people with religious affiliations. The destruction of churches, monasteries, art, archives, and historical text by the socialist-communist. Nothing was sacred to these salvages. I cannot, and I will not remain silent.

What's Behind the Spike in Deaths Among Younger, Working People?
- By FLCCC ALLIANCE
A concerted, bipartisan investigation should explore this threat to America’s economic future and recommend a course of action.
Life insurance data show a massive spike in excess deaths among younger, working-age people that began in 2021, even as COVID-19 deaths decreased, and continues today. So far, good explanations are elusive. A concerted, bipartisan investigation should explore this threat to America’s economic future and recommend a course of action.
A report by the nonprofit Society of Actuaries found that 34% more 35- to 44-year-olds died than expected in the last three months of 2022. More deaths occurred among white-collar vs. blue-collar workers. The organization also reported a sudden jump in employee deaths in the fall of 2021. Independent sites aggregating Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data confirm these trends. According to U.S. Mortality, excess deaths in September 2021 among 25- to 44-year-olds were 70% above normal. That number has thankfully dropped, but as of May 2023, the most recent month for which data are available, deaths in this age group remained 10% above expected. Among people under 25, it was 16% above normal.
Enemy of Palestinians Is Hamas, not Israel
- By Star Parker
The last time I wrote about Gaza and Hamas was 13 years ago, in 2010.
The point of the column was the striking contrast between how Israelis deal with life's challenges and how Hamas leads its Palestinian constituents in Gaza.
Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005 and turned it over to the Palestinian Authority. Within two years, with local elections, Hamas was in charge.

Pro-Life Spiderman Ascends Accenture Tower Without Ropes to Help Mother Save Baby From Abortion
CHICAGO -- Maison Des Champs, the man known as "Pro-Life Spiderman" climbed the 588 foot Accenture tower without a rope in Chicago, Illinois this Tuesday morning. Des Champs is directing attention to the non-profit organization Let Them Live, as he has with past climbs, in order to raise money for women in crisis pregnancy situations. This particular climb is dedicated to helping support "Sierra," a young mother of two who recently found herself unexpectedly pregnant. Let Them Live is setting a goal of $27,000 to help Sierra choose life for her unborn child and be financially stable by the time her baby is born.
Hamas Horrors Rock Israel: 'This Is the Day of the Greatest Battle'
- By Rob Schwarzwalder - The Washington Stand
By now, most readers of the Stand have heard the news of the radical Palestinian group Hamas’s attack on Israel. As of Sunday, about 600 people, both Israelis and Palestinians, have been killed and an estimated 1,700 injured. Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has “ordered a call-up of reservists after Palestinian militants fired thousands of rockets, invaded several Israeli towns and took hostages.”
Fighting has occurred in dozens of places along Israel’s border with the Gaza Strip, the narrow wedge of land between Israel’s western border and the Mediterranean Sea. Hamas’s assault has come by land, sea, and air, obviously the fruit of extensive planning and the stockpiling of aggressive weaponry of all types.
Vladimir Putin’s Valdai Speech in Sochi
- By Mike Scruggs
Ukraine, Russian Economy, Nukes
On October 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the annual Valdai Conference in Sochi. Sochi is the largest resort city in Russia and is located on the eastern shore of the Black Sea. The climate is almost subtropical but was the scene of the 2014 Winter Olympics. The greater urban population of Sochi is normally about 600,000 but over 7.0 million tourists are expected to visit there during 2023.
Putin began his speech talking about Russian civilizational values and the diversity of civilizational values around the world. According to Putin, the reality of the developing multi-polar international power structure is more conducive to freedom and economic development across the globe. He was critical of the United States in this, as he believes the United States is striving for single global economic and military hegemony and conducting its foreign policy in an arrogant and bullying way. His speech was modest in length and gave way to a much longer question and answer session, which is the discussion format of the international Valdai Club.
S.C. Senators Maintain Strong Grip on Local Magistrates
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
State law allows senators to keep local magistrates on the bench long after the judges’ terms expire – giving lawmakers tighter control over their jobs.
As of mid-July, 78, or a quarter, of the state’s 306 magistrates identified on the S.C. Judicial Department’s website were in what’s known as “holdover status,” according to lists released by the Governor’s Office and Judicial Department after The Nerve submitted state Freedom of Information Act requests.
At least one magistrate in 22 of the state’s 46 counties was listed in that status, with Spartanburg County topping the group with 20 judges.
Fighting Back at the Local Level
- By Tom DeWeese - American Policy Center
Recently I addressed the Stop 30x30 Summit in Dallas, Texas, sponsored by the American Stewards of Liberty and CFACT. Here is what I had to say to help encourage local activists to fight the seemingly endless number of attacks on our freedoms now coming from the powerful global forces and the Federal Biden Cabal.
Throughout history there has always been some individual or force that wanted to dictate and control the world. In the past, such forces formed armies, invaded, broke things, killed people, and subjugated whole societies.
Today, we are up against the most diabolical force freedom has ever faced. They have come up with a way to get us to voluntarily surrender our liberties. What can be such a powerful weapon to get us to do that? FEAR! Fear of what? The fear of Environmental Armageddon -- Climate Change.
Bill Gates Funds Tree-burial Project to Save Mother Earth
- By Rebecca Terrell - The New American
Bill Gates wants to destroy 70 million acres of trees across the United States and bury the timber underground.
According to SlayNews, it’s part of the billionaire eugenist’s plans to save Mother Earth from climate change.
The project is a venture of Kodama Systems, a fledgling forest-management company that aims to thin overgrown forests and “utilize excess biomass at scale.”
Last December, several investors, including Bill Gates’ private investment firm, Breakthrough Energy, pumped $6.6 million dollars into the project.
In The Mansions Of The Lord
- By W.H. Lamb
“ 2) In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, 3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also” - John 14:2-3, KJV
“2) My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” - John 14: 2-3, NIV
WHAT ARE “HEAVENLY MANSIONS” IN SCRIPTURE?
Dictionaries define the word “mansion” as “a large, impressive house; astately residence”. That’s the picture that most modern people have when they think of a “mansion”. The writer of the Book of John, inspired by the Holy Spirit, used that word in the KJV translation of God’s Word, in John 14:2. The Anglicized version of the original old word used by the writer of John was “monay”, which meant a dwelling, or an abode, but did not infer avery large or stately dwelling, as we normally think of as today’s meaning of the word. The translators of the NIV version of God’s Word used the word “rooms” rather than mansions, which still gives readers the implication that Jesus was talking about “abodes”, or places to live.
Out of War: Girl Becomes TV Inspiration in Troubled Middle East
- By SAT-7
SAT-7 KIDS TV presenter Christina Issa draws on Syria war experiences to bring hope to others on Int'l Day of the Girl, Oct. 11
EASTON, Md. -- As a young girl, Christina Issa found a way to block out the horror of war raging in her homeland of Syria — by watching a faith-based television channel for kids, broadcast in her native Arabic.
She never dreamed that a few years later she'd be a presenter on the same channel, SAT-7 KIDS, encouraging other girls and boys living amidst war, violence and devastating loss.

On International Day of the Girl — a global awareness event held on Oct. 11 each year — Issa, now age 21, is using her platform to show girls living in even the most desperate circumstances that faith in God can change their lives.
Pope Francis Blames America First
- By Stephen Moore
When I was growing up and attending Catholic schools, I was taught that the pope is infallible.
But then I read Pope Francis' updated encyclical letter last week, and now I can only conclude that at least this pope is fallible. In fact, the declaration is so filled with anti-Christian fallacies that one has to wonder whether we have a pope that is actually Catholic.

The Federal Government Seeks Input on Kids Online Safety
- By Eagle Forum
Parents, educators, and researchers, the federal government needs your input!
The internet has brought a world of information and experiences to the palm of our hands. The omnipresence of technology, especially social media, has also caused children to become significantly more exposed to exploitation, bullying, and inappropriate material. As we learned at Eagle Council 51 from Kristyn Ruzicka and Melanie Hempe, there are real dangers to our kids from the metaverse and even gaming addictions. From 2009 to 2019, depression rates doubled among minors with suicide becoming the second leading cause of death for children ten to fourteen years old. Something needs to change.
'Good Government' Is a Two-Way Street
- By Veronique de Rugy
You've undoubtedly noticed how up-in-arms everyone becomes when the government is on the verge of shutting down. I've also noticed that the people who most loudly express their horror at the notion of a partial government closure seem totally comfortable with the fiscal wall we are barreling into. That wall is being built, brick by brick, by two political parties that are unwilling to end Washington's spending debauchery.
This isn't to deny that some people would have been hurt by the recently averted shutdown (which, by the way, would not have made our debt smaller). It's a call for consistency from anyone putting their good-government sensibilities on display.
Digital Physics, the Supernatural and Biblical Creation
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
Digital physics is the idea that our universe is fundamentally programmed information system Making it much like a virtual reality. This idea easily explains many aspects of quantum mechanics that otherwise seem quite bizarre. It also explains how there could be supernatural phenomena while providing a mechanism for Biblical creation.
And all the aspects of Quantum Mechanics that make it seem weird only do so when you are looking at the world from a materialistic perspective. Looking at it instead has a programmed information system. For example, Planck length and Planck time our units of space and time beneath which it is impossible to measure anything, making space and time effectively pixelated like you would in a video game. Furthermore, the behavior of subsonic particles changes depending on the availability of information about them. For example, particles of matter exhibit both particle-like properties as well as wavelike properties.
Parents Take Child's Protection Into Their Own Hands with Online Martial Arts
- By Christian Newswire
ST. LOUIS -- Parents no longer need to outsource self-defense training for their children. They can teach it themselves using an online martial arts resource called The Great Flip.
"Not everyone is ready for the big martial arts experience and expense," says Jody Token, The Great Flip, creator and coach.
"I developed The Great Flip to teach my daughters self-defense skills and increase their confidence. I believe everyone can teach and learn self-defense skills using my online videos and lesson plans," says Token.
