Article by Dr. Kirk Neely
- By Jim S. Brooks - Roebuck, SC
Dr. Kirk Neely, Religion Department at the University of South Carolina Upstate, recently wrote an article in an upstate newspaper correctly pinpointing hatred and prejudice as a basic problem of mankind which often results in physical violence and death to others. (Remembering 9/11, 09-13-19: also worth reading for memorializing tragic, useless human suffering and brave actions of first responders.) Mankind clearly needs help! Dr. Neely advocated studying other world faith systems as a solution to counter hatred. Perhaps we would do better, instead, to advocate adherents of other world faith systems in the United States and around the world to study Christianity for individual self reflection? It was not individual adherents of Christianity that brought down the Twin Towers! Dr. Neely concludes man should be more loving toward others. True!! But where do we get that individual power? History of mankind graphically demonstrates we humans do not have the inherent power to end hatred, violence and war among men. Man’s hatred can not be overcome by “human” wisdom or “human” religion! But there is a wisdom and truth that transcends collective human wisdom for individuals!

Constitutional Carry

I do not understand why the bill H.3456 is not on the floor of SC Congress for discussion and passing of this bill. What are you doing to protect my 2nd Amendment rights?
American history and history of other nations tells us not to give up our guns:
- A Japanese General was asked, “Why did you bomb Pearl Harbor instead of coming on land to attack America”? He stated because all the Americans had guns and would shoot us. We would be fighting the military and the people. We could not win that way.
- Look at what’s going on in Venezuela since given up their guns. They kept warning us to not give up our guns for years. Telling us to look at them. They refused for a long time not to give up their guns, but over the years they gave in. They stated that within months after giving up their guns, they were under dictatorship.

The Slave Narratives - Part 7 of a Series of 10
As part of the Federal Writer’s Project during the Great Depression, the Roosevelt Administration employed scores of journalists to interview former slaves and record verbatim (and in dialect) their memories of slavery. From 1936 to 1938 about 2, 300 former slaves were interviewed, most of whom were delighted to tell about “slavery times.” In 1941, these systematically designed interviews were published by state in a multi-volume series called The Slave Narratives.

For God & Country - The Spirit of Capt. John Birch, Christian Missionary And American Patriot - Part 2
- By W.H. Lamb
In Part 1 of this series I asked the question: What impels a young man to embark on a life of missionary service to his LORD and Savior? It became clear, during my research, that John Birch received his “calling” to be a missionary from his Savior, Jesus, and he received that calling at a young age. He never turned back from serving his Savior, nor did he hesitate from going into harm’s way many times during that service. John was characterized by Robert Welch as “a simple, but highly intelligent man, who worked hard to serve God, spread God’s Word, and fought for the freedom to do so.” Many times during his wartime service, Birch longed for the day when he could farm his own land, marry and raise a family, and continue to serve God in his own way.

Masters, Slaves, and the Conditions of Slavery - Part 6 of 10
There was a great variation in the conditions of slavery among peoples and over time in history. Sometimes conditions improved or deteriorated within a single civilization. The relationship between master and slave also varied among peoples and over time. Slavery or some similar hierarchical system was extremely prevalent in ancient times. Many slaves held special status because of their responsibilities or personal relationship to their master.

For God & Country—The Spirit of Capt. John Birch, Christian Missionary And American Patriot - Part 1
- By W.H. Lamb
No, this article is not about the John Birch Society, that great educational and patriotic organization that has been exposing the enemies of constitutional government, and their despicable intrigues, in the U.S. for over 60 years, resulting in merciless attacks against it and unmitigated mendacities told about it, because THE ENEMIES OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL LIBERTIES FEAR THE TRUTH—THEY FEAR THE EXPOSURE OF THEIR ANTI-AMERICAN, ANTI-CONSTITUTION MACHINATIONS, AND THEY FEAR THE WRATH OF A TOTALLY INFORMED AMERICAN PEOPLE! The real John Birch never knew the late Robert Welch, the American businessman and patriot who founded the JBS in December of 1958.

The Contrast of Abolitionist Versus Providential Views - Part 5 of a series of 10
On February 4, 1863, the famous abolitionist attorney and orator, Wendell Phillips, made this remarkable declaration from the pulpit of Henry Ward Beecher’s huge Plymouth Church in Brooklyn:
“I do not believe there will be any peace until 347,000 men of the South are either hanged or exiled.”
The crowd cheered. Rev. Henry Ward Beecher, the brother of Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of the abolitionist novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin, was himself one of the most famous abolitionists and sought-after speakers in America. Henry Beecher was also known for raising money to send Sharps rifles to abolitionists fighting in Kansas and Nebraska—known as “Beecher’s Bibles.”
