Biden Administration Declares ERA Dead
- By Eagle Forum
Alton, IL – The Biden Administration’s Office of Legal Counsel put yet another nail in the coffin of the long-dead Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).
The so-called Equal Rights Amendment, which would have prohibited discrimination on the basis of “sex,” passed both houses of Congress and was signed by President Jimmy Carter in 1972. ERA, which feminists claimed “put women in the Constitution” was headed for certain ratification until Phyllis Schlafly and her Eagle Forum activists raised concerns that because ERA mentioned “sex,” but not “women,” the amendment would not ensure the equality feminists desired, but would actually remove from women important rights and protections, like exemption from military draft, and the right to sex-segregated private spaces like bathrooms and locker rooms.

Stay Alert Virginia, The Nation Is Watching
- By Tom DeWeese - American Policy Center
It is a great feeling of relief for many in Virginia to receive a new Republican Governor to office. After decades of Democrat rule, leading to larger and larger government control over every aspect of business, healthcare, education, environment, and personal choice, Virginians are hoping for major changes in how their government will now operate.
Adding to the positive feelings across the state, new Governor Glenn Youngkin had a busy inauguration day, signing nine executive orders and two executive directives to set the tone for his term. Each was met with thundering applause.

As Justice Breyer Announces His Retirement, Operation Rescue Vows to Oppose Any Nominee that Will Not Respect Human Life & Liberty
- By Christian Newswire
WASHINGTON -- Today, it was learned that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer will announce his retirement as early as tomorrow.
Breyer was appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1994, and has consistently sided in favor of abortion when the matter has been before the Supreme Court. He is expected to remain on the court until the end of this term, which means he will cast a vote in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case, which has the potential to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade case that decriminalized abortion in the U.S. The Dobbs opinion is expected in the spring.

What Does Green Mean?
- By Anne Schlafly Cori, Chairman, Eagle Forum
Is the goal of the climate activists to reduce the human carbon footprint on the planet or is their goal to control our energy usage, tax us, and reduce our standard of living? The current debate in Europe is illuminating.
The European Union has pledged to be “carbon-neutral” by 2050 — in a mere 28 years. A short time, but long enough that the current politicians will not be in power to take the heat when there is no heat available.
France and Germany do not agree on how to be “carbon-neutral”. Today, 70 percent of electricity in France is powered by nuclear plants, and they are building more. The French realize that in Northern Europe, the sun does not shine very often, but atomic power can be always available. The added bonus is that atomic power is “clean” energy with no carbon footprint.

Hope Is on the March
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
The tens of thousands of pro-lifers who made the trek to Washington, D.C. this morning didn't just come to support the unborn. They came to see history. For 49 years, they've slogged through rain, snow, sleet, and freezing cold for the March for Life with one prayer in their hearts: an end to Roe v. Wade. Today, that dream is closer than ever.
The hope that started blooming two years ago with the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett has exploded into full-blown optimism now, as the Supreme Court considers the first direct challenge to unlimited abortion in a generation: Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. After a half-century, Roe could finally fall -- ending a bloody legacy that cost our nation 63 million lives. If it does, the young people standing in the sun this afternoon will remember this moment. They'll remember the belief on everyone's faces and the anticipation they felt wondering if this stop on the steps of the Supreme Court could finally be their last.

King of the Bungle
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
The kinder reviews said it "didn't go quite as planned." But for anyone else tuning in to the longest presidential news conference in history, it was a disaster of epic proportions. The White House had been shielding Joe Biden from the press for months. And now we all understand why.
It was, as even Politico pointed out, his staff's worst "nightmare come true." For what might be the first time as president, Joe Biden was completely unfiltered. Suddenly off the short leash of his handlers, he talked for an hour and fifty-one minutes Wednesday, setting a record that outpaced even Donald Trump by a whole half an hour. But longer wasn't better for the flailing White House, as Biden's blunders on everything from Ukraine to COVID reminded everyone what a mistake his presidency has been.
