What’s Happening at the VA?
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
The Veteran’s Administration, now called the Department of Veterans Affairs headed by a cabinet level political appointee, has existed for decades. It is the best example we have of where so-called Obama Care is headed and what patients can expect when government bureaucrats control healthcare.
Only rarely does the public get a glimpse of what is going on in this huge government-run organization called the VA. Recently there have been media reports, apparently based on whistleblower information, that a VA Hospital in Arizona has been manipulating reports, and allegedly delayed treatment for hundreds of veterans. Someone reportedly allowed 10 veterans to die without adequate care.
Just as taxpayers fear the IRS and parents fear public school administrators, veterans fear the VA. They are fearful that if they complain, they will experience retaliation that could impact adversely the medical care they have earned and been promised by their government.

Who is Qualified to be Superintendent of South Caraolina?
- By Johnelle Raines - Pickens, SC
What qualities are needed to be an effective SC State Superintendent of Education? What makes for an ineffective one? Anyone who truly wants what is best for SC children needs to be answering those questions before voting for a candidate vying for the position of SC Superintendent.
I have, and would like to share my thoughts.
An effective Superintendent should be able to motivate and lead people, be trustworthy, be a good listener, communicate and work well with others, be flexible, have a sense of humor, be a continual learner, know how to set goals and accomplish them, have good morals, be a problem solver, a critical thinker and most importantly be asking the question, “What is best for SC children?” After working with Sheri Few for well over a year in our grassroots efforts to stop the implementation of Common Core Standards in SC, she has proven she possesses all of the above qualities needed.
Living Dangerously
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Never has our country had more enemies and been in more danger, and never have the American People been more complacent. It may be accurate to say also that never before have we had more incompetent people in leadership positions at the national level. Finally, not since before World War II have we intentionally planned to disarm to dangerous levels. That all adds up to “living dangerously.”
We have all heard the cliché: “Ignorance is bliss.” Ignorance is also dangerous. I’m afraid more Americans are ignorant than in any period during my lifetime. That is one reason why they are complacent. You don’t worry about what you don’t know about.
For three years during the Johnson Administration, I was in an assignment involving command and control of nuclear weapons in the Pacific Command. There was no discussion of work outside the organization due to security measures. I recall a discussion with one of my colleagues when we agreed we would sleep better at night if we didn’t know some of the things we were allowed to access.

Charlie Porter, Where Is He Now? - Part 2
- By James Moore
Adventures of salt and pepper
Previously, Porter’s love for police work and the pain from the hazards of the career were introduced. The final dangerous moment of Porter’s police career was explained to show how good decisions can lead to bad consequences. For Porter, knowing it is all God’s plan, helps keep back the burden of guilt that can weigh a man down. In this segment we’ll delve into his career battling against drug dealers in Easley as we lead up to where his “wonderful” police career and his love for veterans has taken him today.
Charlie Smith Porter and Charlie Perry Austin were partnered in Easley and they quickly started making a name for themselves through scores of drug cases through hard work. They developed a reputation and a nickname, Salt and Pepper. They would work their regular shifts and then they would put in extra hours staking out known drug spots.

Common Core Isn’t the Issue
- By David Thompson
I don’t want to talk about “Common Core.” Neither did I want to talk about “No Child Left Behind.” It seems to me that we are surrendering a critical part of the entire education debate without a fight if we even discuss a federally mandated program. That is putting the cart before the horse. How about we back up and first discuss whether any program coming from the US Department of Education (DOE) is legal. I am not mincing words here; it is my firm belief that there is no constitutional basis for the existence of the entire federal DOE. Therefore, anything they do is illegal…and we should ignore it.
At a minimum we certainly have a basis for asking the question: what article of the constitution establishes the legal foundation for the federal government to be involved in education? My reading of the document is that it says clearly the only power given to the federal government is enumerated, spelled out, and what is not is “left to the states and to the people.” Show me where it says education is a prerogative of the federal government? Simply put, you can’t. Anyone would be hard pressed to make a legal argument justifying the federal DOE by connecting dots back to the Constitution.
The “Civil War” Continues
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Students of the true history of the South know that the so-called “Civil War” has never really ended. The issues that divided the nation then persist today. Surrender of the Confederacy followed by the terror of military occupation and “Reconstruction” further strengthened the central government that is now virtually out-of-control and unrestrained by the states that have been bullied and bribed into doing the bidding of the power-hungry Washington-based slave masters.
A major battle in the current phase of the war is taking place in the Republican Party. The Conservative, Christian, Tea-Party base of the party that gave Republicans control of the U. S. House in 2010 is becoming more and more active. This internal threat to leadership is striking fear in the hearts of the “liberal Democrat-Light” GOP national leadership.

Charlie Porter, Where Is He Now? - Part 1
- By James Moore
As Charlie Porter reflects back on his life, he believes that he had the most wonderful police career any human being could ever have. Police work, to him, was like a preacher’s calling. It was what he did, and he was so good at it.
“I just had a sense for [police work]. I just had a feeling,” said Porter.
Those “feelings” didn’t keep Porter from danger, they led him right to it. It’s hard to remember exactly, but Porter knows his broken bone count is in-between 12 and 17. Taking into count all of the little bones in his feet and hands, along with the big ones, 17 bones is a good guess on how many Porter has crushed. During the course of his duties Porter has also ruined his spine and damaged his brain stem.
Demos and RINOs Worried about Possible Graham Loss
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Names of Interested Individuals Including Hodges, Harpootlian, Rex, Lovelace, Moore and Ravenel Surfacing
South Carolina’s Senior Senator Lindsey Graham has millions of dollars of campaign funds in the bank, is running frequent TV and radio ads, and is on Fox News just about daily talking about hot topics ranging from Benghazi to the IRS.
His most damaging handicap is his votes for liberal Supreme Court judges and complimentary remarks regarding Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.
Regardless, his supporters are showing signs of panic. A recent Winthrop poll showed Graham getting only 45 percent of the vote. This is not a good number for an incumbent who needs more than 50 percent to avoid a runoff.
Flight 370 Conspiracy Theories
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Where is the missing Malaysian Airliner? It has now been a month since the disappearance of Flight 370 from Malaysia and speculation is rampant. The prevailing consensus in the dominant media is that the Boeing 777 is at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. Almost daily, someone spots wreckage or hears a “ping” that turns out to mean nothing whatsoever. At this writing, the Chinese claim to have heard a “ping” on the frequency of the so-called “black box” that will be running out of power in a matter of days.
One problem with the Indian Ocean scenario is that no rational explanation or motive has been offered for anyone to take the airliner in the opposite direction of its destination and ditch it in the ocean.

Bankrupting America

A Forbidden Look at Unmentionable Causes
April 14 will mark the 102nd anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, the newest and grandest of the British White Star Line of passenger ships at the time. Nearly 883-feet long, the Titanic was the largest ship afloat and so formidably designed that many said that she was unsinkable. Proudly cutting through the waves of the North Atlantic on her maiden voyage, steaming for New York at near top speed, she must have been an awesome sight as her passengers and crew enjoyed an evening of carefree celebration. The crew of the Titanic received eight iceberg warnings from six different ships in the area, but they were dismissed as inconsequential. Near midnight, the top lookout, Frederick Fleet, recognized the terrifying image of a huge iceberg looming straight ahead. He immediately rang First Officer William Murdoch on the bridge, but the giant ship could not be turned or slowed enough in time to avoid the iceberg. The starboard (right) side of the Titanic scraped, and bumped along the iceberg, gashing and puncturing 300 feet of the ship’s side below water level, flooding five of the ship’s sixteen water-tight compartments. In two hours and forty minutes, the great “unsinkable” ship plunged into the icy waves and into the depths. Over 1,500 of the 2, 225 aboard perished.

Cash “Removes Gloves” at One Nation Under God Rally
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Normally mild mannered Richard Cash removed the gloves and pulled out all stops during his address at the One Nation Under God Rally, Monday night at the TD Center in Greenville. His audience received his message with enthusiasm.
He warned his audience in advance that they would not be hearing a typical campaign address.
Cash outlined the problems the American people face and their origins, from removal of Bibles and prayer from classrooms to legalized abortion and attacks on traditional marriage and destruction of the family unit. He did not overlook the fact that Senator Lindsey Graham, his chief opponent in the Republican primary, is part of the problem, citing him as the only Republican who voted to confirm two ultra-liberal women, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, to the United States Supreme Court.
S.C. Needs to “Rip Common Core Out by the Roots,” Candidate Says
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
NEA Leader says C. C. Implementation “Botched”—Proponent Mike Huckabee Advises: “Rebrand it, Refocus it, but Don’t retreat.”
With national supporters and proponents of Common Core retreating or urging more deception, Sheri Few, Republican candidate for South Carolina Superintendent of Education is digging in her heels and “taking no prisoners.”
In Greenville recently, Few said “the Palmetto State needs an education superintendent committed to stopping Common Core and charged the current Zais-Childs administration with giving ‘lip service” to those opposing the nationalized Common Core school curriculum scheme.”
Common Core Truth
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
The controversial educational indoctrination initiative called “Common Core” could be described as “deception of Biblical proportions from the pits of hell.” That description, however, must be toned down to avoid scaring many people who need to be confronted with “truth” and deal with it, because it is truth that will set us free from deception.
The American people are not stupid; therefore, clever deception is necessary if they are to accept enslavement of their children and destruction of their constitutional republic. Using group psychology, clever advertising and the “carrot and stick” method of rewards and punishment on teachers and school administrators, they have hope of success, despite a parental rebellion.
For the purpose of this discussion, let’s suspend the arguments for and against Common Core for the time being, and deal with what we believe to be truth (facts).
Meadows Announces for Re-election for Greenville County Council
- By Press Release
Greenville County Councilman Willis Meadows officially announced his candidacy for re-election for Greenville County Council District 19 seat today.
Meadows, vice-chairman of County Council, who is currently owner of a Greenville insurance agency, said he will continue to give the district “an effective, experienced and conservative voice on Greenville County Council.
“As a long-time resident of Greenville County I care deeply about our community,” Meadows said. “District 19 is facing new challenges, presented by unprecedented growth. Along with the existing problems of a recovering economy, development, congestion, and an increasing property tax burden, County Council continually faces new challenges that require common sense solutions. I want to continue to help find these new common sense solutions for our county just as I have done the past two terms as a council member. This approach is the same as I have used in my education and business careers for over four decades.”

“Justice” in South Carolina
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Can people who enter a courtroom in South Carolina expect to receive justice based on the law and the circumstances, without bias or favoritism? In some circumstances, the client who is represented by an attorney who is also a member of the South Carolina House or Senate may have a decisive advantage. That is the way the system is designed to work in this state. Then why doesn’t it get fixed?
Lawyers are afraid to complain, because they have to represent clients in these courts and most citizens don’t know how the “good old boy” system works, therefore they don’t know there is a problem.
