Fired Teacher Fires Back!
- By Catching Fire News
Join Lynne on this special episode as she discusses with Jennifer McWilliams how being fired from her teaching position was a great segue into activism, and how it prompted her to sound the alarm about the harmful social and emotional learning programs now being pushed on our children in government schools.
Senator Schumer Introduces Marijuana Legalization Bill
- By Eagle Forum
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) introduced a bill to legalize marijuana this week. The Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act is being advertised as a simple bill- one that loosens federal regulation of the Schedule I controlled substance. The nearly 300-page bill tells a different story and one that ignores the dangerous impacts of legalization.
Marijuana proponents seem to believe that a good trade-off for legalization is high taxation of the crop. Sen. Schumer’s marijuana bill implements a tax schedule that eventually reaches 25 percent of each cannabis product. However, states that have implemented this policy have seen an increase of illegal use instead of the income they expected. After six years of California’s action to legalize recreational marijuana and impose high taxes, up to three quarters of current sales are from unregistered dealers. Even Oregon’s marijuana market is made up of 70% of illegal sales. Legal dealers simply cannot compete with the black market.
What to Expect from Washington's Latest Industrial Policy
- By Veronique de Rugy
Industrial policy is making a comeback. For those of you under the age of 50, this is just another term for corporate welfare -- a lovely name for the unlovely practice of a government granting subsidies, protective tariffs and other privileges to politically influential industries or companies. It's often done in the name of some lofty goal such as strengthening national security or ensuring that America is a leader in the "industries of the future." But the outcome is always the same: wasteful, unfair, unsuccessful and unjustified. Oh, and it invariably grows the budget deficit.
Property Rights at Center of Battles Over Short-term Rentals

Editor’s Note: The Nerve today is featuring the first of two initial stories on short-term rentals in South Carolina.
With South Carolina’s tourism season in full swing, many summer visitors are looking for short-term rentals through popular sites such as Airbnb and Vrbo.
As of May, there were 41,715 Airbnb or Vrbo available rentals in South Carolina, a 17% increase over the previous year and a 27% jump from May 2019, according to information provided to The Nerve by AirDNA, which tracks short-term rentals worldwide.
The Commie Colonization of America
- By Michelle Malkin
From California to the New York island, from the Redwood Forest to the Gulf stream waters, the land that used to belong to Americans has been milked and bilked by investors and paid government agents of the People's Republic of China. The National Association of Realtors reported last week that wealthy Chinese spent $6.1 billion on U.S. real estate in the past year. They've captured more than 10% of the market and have the highest average purchase price of all foreign real estate investors at over $1 million per home.
Trudeau is Guilty of 'Cultural Genocide'
- By Christian Newswire
NEW YORK -- Catholic League president Bill Donohue raises questions about the policies of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:
Pope Francis is in Canada apologizing for Christians who cooperated with Canadian government officials in assimilating Indigenous persons into society. The most serious charge against them, as outlined on p. 1 of the Introduction to the Report by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, is that of "cultural genocide."
"Cultural genocide" is defined as the destruction of the "structures and practices" of a particular population; it seeks to eradicate their "political and social institutions."
On this score, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is carrying out "cultural genocide" against his own people. Instead of touting the Report, he should spend his time applying the same analysis to his own policies. If he did, he would step down immediately.
Pray for America's Students
- By Lt. Gen. (US Army-Ret.) William G. Boykin
The tragic school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, which took the lives of 19 students and two teachers just days before summer break, is a stark reminder that we live in a broken and fallen world.
As a grandfather, my heart grieves for the families who are facing incredible loss in what should have been a joyous time of celebrating the completion of another school year and a milestone in their children's lives.
As followers of Christ, we know God is the source of comfort in times of sorrow. Psalm 34:18 reminds us that "the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Abortion, Democracy and History
- By Star Parker
When Sen. Stephen Douglas and Abraham Lincoln faced off in a debate in Peoria, Illinois, in 1854, the issue tearing apart the nation was slavery.
A central issue was whether slavery would be permitted in new territories entering the union.
Douglas' answer to the question was politics. Lincoln's answer was morality and the Bible.
Douglas' answer to slavery in new states, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, was democracy. Citizens would vote to permit or not permit slavery in their state.
Selling out on Marriage Will Haunt the GOP
- By Suzanne Bowdey - The Washington Stand
Never underestimate the Republican Party’s ability to self-destruct. That’s the one thing years of cultural battles have taught everyone. Heading into November with the elections on a silver platter, the men and women who rebranded themselves as the forces of anti-wokeness have suddenly gone soft on an issue that should be a political no-brainer: marriage. After seven years of letting the court take the heat for redefining history’s oldest institution, a surprising number of Republicans are making a fatal mistake — believing they can win back Congress by sounding just as radical as the party set to lose it.
The Question of the Age of the Earth
- By Charles Creager Jr.
You have probably heard it claimed that science has shown that the Earth is 4 1/2 billion years old. You may have also heard that the Bible says the earth is 6000 years old. Now these two figures cannot be reconciled without doing great damage to the Bible. However, it needs to be noted that the problem is not actual science, but atheistic mythology being pushed under the guise of science. The simple fact is that you cannot date an unobserved event in the past without making assumptions about the past. Furthermore, any such date is only as accurate as the assumptions being made.
The Left Wants To Abolish Everything, Even This Column
- By Stephen Moore
Any aging baby boomer (like myself) knows that the anthem of the radicals of the 1960s and 1970s was sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. Let the good times roll. Back then, the joke was that a conservative was someone who lived in mortal fear that someone, somewhere, was having fun.
But if this new generation of authoritarian liberals has its way, sex and rock 'n' roll will be illegal.
As I've said in the past in these pages, the ironic ideological twist that has occurred over the past 20 years is that the once permissive "live and let live" Left is now the nonpermissive Left. The leftists in America are the new puritans.

China: Pelosi Trip to Taiwan a Provocation
- By Pat Buchanan
When Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi added to the itinerary of a valedictory trip through Asia the island of Taiwan, she could not have been oblivious to the reaction she would produce in a stunned Beijing.
Thus, when the Financial Times revealed that the speaker would be visiting Taiwan, which China regards as a breakaway province, an enraged Beijing took the Pelosi visit to be a deliberate U.S. provocation.
Beijing's reaction appears authentic and understandable.
The January 6 Committee and the Fourteenth Amendment
- By Mike Scruggs
Two Tales of Unconstitutional Political Tyranny - Part 1 of 3
The so-called U.S. House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6, 2021, “Attack” on the United States Capitol denied genuine bipartisan membership of the Committee over the protest of Republican House leadership and the great majority of Republican Members. The Committee of nine Members consists of seven Democrats and two anti-Trump Republicans appointed by the Democrat Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. The Chairman of the Committee is Democrat Bennie Thompson of Mississippi. The two Republicans are Liz Chaney, Vice Chair, from Wyoming, and Adam Kinizinger of Illinois. Three of the other Democrats are from California: Adam Schiff, Pete Aguilar, and Zoe Lofgren. The other three Democrats are Stephanie Murphy of Florida, Jamie Raskin of Maryland, and Elaine Luria of Virginia. The first public hearing was on July 27, 2021, but prime time TV public hearings did not begin until June 9, 2022. The Committee plans to continue its big-media oriented investigation.
What part of Agenda 21 didn’t you get?
- By Kathleen Marquardt - American Policy Center
Sorry, but we have been telling you for over 30 years that the globalists want to reduce the population by over 90%. I can understand why, for a while, some thought we were crazy. Population reduction was being done quietly through abortion, vaccines to sterilize people in Third World countries, promoting the gay lifestyle that can only bear children through surrogates, and convincing people that bringing a child into this world is a sin.
For years, the Left have bemoaned the burden of overpopulation.
“It’s terrible to have to say this. World population must be stabilized and to do that we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. This is so horrible to contemplate that we shouldn’t even say it. But the general situation in which we are involved is lamentable.” Jacques Yves Cousteau
Don’t Let The Moonbats Destroy Us!
- By W.H. Lamb
Beware! Moonbats are carriers of the deadly "Obama Coccus Stupidicus" virus, which is invariably fatal to traditional Americanism if exposed to it over a long period of time!
We’ve all seen them in person or on video: Little flying mammals who come out around dusk in search of insects or fruit to eat. A few of them seek out animal blood to drink, and are called “vampire” bats. Most people are afraid of bats (which don’t get in your hair), but except for the remote possibility of being bitten by a rabid bat, they are harmless to humans and generally are beneficial to mankind. All except one. The moonbat is truly dangerous to human safety and happiness because it is wingless, cunning, untrustworthy, and often resorts to perfidy, subterfuge, mendacity, and violence to survive and attack its opponents. The more powerful of that nasty flock have NO qualms over harassing or destroying any living being that dares to oppose their dark agenda of destruction and lust for power and control. Above all other living creatures, the moonbat is to be both feared and loathed, for it has sold its soul to the Prince of Darkness, and spends its life seeking others to deceive and destroy!
Animal Rights; a Tool to Attack Humans
- By Catching Fire News
The animal rights movement isn’t about saving animals, it’s about attacking humans. The New World Order wants you to own nothing and that includes animals. Kathleen’s guest, Michela Huth is an Ohio attorney who’s sole practice is in going up against humane societies who seize animals from their owners in the name of protecting them. Listen as she tells you how to protect yourself and your animals, and what exactly to do if they come to your door.

Congress Meddles in Marriage & Contraception
- By Eagle Forum
Congress Takes Up Broad Bills on Marriage and Contraception
Since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturned Roe v. Wade, Democrats have been in a tizzy. Not only have they tried to codify Roe into law, but they are also fearmongering about other issues such as same-sex marriage and access to contraception.
When the Supreme Court ruled on Dobbs, the majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito and joined by Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett explicitly stated that it should not be “misunderstood or mischaracterized . . . [to] cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion.” This signaled that a majority of the Court did not have an appetite to entertain the notion of overturning other precedents at this time.
These Senators Defended Marriage in 2015. What's Changed?
- By Tony Perkins - The Washington Stand
When the Supreme Court delivered its blow to marriage in 2015, burning down three dozen state laws and tearing up 50 million ballots, the GOP’s reaction was straightforward. Outrage. With a handful of exceptions, the response that echoed across the two coasts was a collective “How dare they?” As far as Republicans were concerned, what the five justices did on that June day was a betrayal of the people, our system of government, and the pillar that’s upheld society since the beginning of time. “It’s an injustice,” they railed. Now, seven years later, they finally have a chance to prove it. The question is: will they?
Keep in mind that when the Supreme Court redefined marriage for America in 2015, we became only the 23rd country out of 195 to do so, and only one of seven to have it imposed on us by a court. Still today, there are only 33 countries that have gone down this path of redefining marriage.
The Media Has Tried and Failed to Sell the Left's Crazy Agenda
- By Neil Patel
Every reasonably honest observer knows the corporate media has a liberal bias. That bias is displayed more often in the topics they choose to emphasize than in outright misinformation. We all know the major narratives that the media is trying to drive home. There is none bigger than the idea that Republicans have become extreme, out of the mainstream and even dangerous. There is certainly some craziness on the American right, but it's misinformation of the highest order to pretend the eccentricities of the right even approach the outright radicalism the left is mainstreaming today. That's the big lie the media is trying to pull off. It's not working.
Making Mathletes
- By Anne Schlafly Cori
Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida has a math teacher, Will Frazer, who is motivating and energizing his students. What is his secret sauce?
- He is teaching math, not critical race theory.
- He scouts for talent, because abilities vary.
- He puts all the smart kids together in the same room, which promotes excellence.
- When Covid shut down his school, he held his classes in another venue and his students followed him for the in-person classes.
- No teacher shortage in his classrooms; he uses high schoolers to teach middle-schoolers, which has the added benefit of reinforcing the lessons for the older students.
- He knows that students want to be challenged, not bored, in school, so he adds material to the lesson plan.
This math teacher is not dumbing down the material or using diversity or equity or inclusion to teach. He is pushing his students to achieve excellence. "I cover everything the state wants me to cover, but there is no restriction on covering extra material," Frazer said in the Wall Street Journal (7/16/22).
What Makes Biden So Pugnacious?
- By Pat Buchanan
That friendly fist bump with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman might not have been such a defining moment -- had Biden not first set himself up.
During the 2020 campaign, Biden said that when he encounters the prince, he would treat him like the "pariah" he was for having authorized the murder and dismemberment of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.
As for Biden's depiction of how he confronted MBS behind closed doors, the Saudis dispute his rendition, and many of his own countrymen disbelieve Biden.
The Truth Hasn't Changed. The GOP Must Defend Marriage.
- By Tony Perkins - The Washington Stand
If you asked the talking heads, they’d say Americans are flocking to the Republican Party because of Joe Biden. It’s a reasonable explanation, considering the dumpster fire he’s made of our economy, energy, and inflation. But there’s another reason that voters are turning to the GOP — and it has nothing to do with the price of gas in Wichita. It’s because under Donald Trump they rediscovered something important: their moral courage. And this week’s marriage debate, however contrived it is, is putting everything they’ve learned to the test.
