GOP Suicide: Amnesty Now, Gun Control Next, Gone in 2016
- By Mike Scruggs
“Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.”
The origin of the quotation, “Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad” is ancient and unknown. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow has Prometheus say the words in his poem, The Masque of Pandora. Because it has the meter and theme common to ancient Greek tragedies, it was once attributed to Euripides (480-406 BC). However, very similar quotations appear to be even more ancient. A common ancient variation attributes a man’s destruction to foolishness, especially in the sense of moral blindness, confused judgment, or willful rejection of self-evident truth. Several Biblical passages have this theme. Romans 1:22 says it plainest of all: “Claiming to be wise, they became fools.”

Fireworks Under the Big Tent

Has the Republican Party declared war on Republicans? The first shots were fired during the last Republican National Convention, when obvious dirty tricks were played on key conservative delegates at critical times and during critical votes. Some were delayed from entering the convention floor. Others were kept on buses and not allowed to exit. It was the beginning of top down direction of the GOP. It is nothing new. The RNC is not being creative, they are simply copying the unethical practices of the liberal Democrats, and tragically, for the party and the republic, they have recruited “willful idiots” to support their agenda at the state and county level across the “fruited plane.”
In January, the United States Senate will have 54 members that call themselves Republicans. The House of Representatives will have a larger majority of members calling themselves Republicans than the current membership.

Chumley Leads Call for Special Session on Marriage
- By Chris Sullivan
Using the Power of the Purse to Preserve Traditional Marriage
State Representative Bill Chumley (R-Spartanburg) is working with other conservatives to craft a response to the efforts of a few Federal judges to force South Carolina to legalize homosexual marriage. Rather than waiting on the legislature to convene in January, Rep. Chumley and other supporters of traditional marriage are calling on Governor Nikki Haley to call a special session of the General Assembly before more damage can be done by the Federal courts.
“We have to move quickly,” Chumley said. “Every day the Federal courts and their liberal enablers are working to destroy the traditional values of our society and marriage is the main line of attack.”

Wake Up Sheeple!
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Wake up sheeple! The hour is late and the windows of opportunity are closing. The agenda being implemented by the sixties radicals now in control of the Democrat Party is clear. There is no longer a need to speculate or depend upon some political analyst to give their analysis and interpretation of what these people are doing to our Constitutional Republic that they have incorrectly re-designated a Democracy.
They are a coalition of radical leftists, socialists and communists who prefer to be addressed by the politically-correct and deceptive label: Progressives. They are indoctrinated in and implementing the teachings of Sol Alinsky found in his book, Rules for Radicals, combined with the Cloward-Piven strategy.
Times Examiner Columnist Addresses American Legion

Staff Report
Times Examiner columnist
Dr. Al Snyder, told the Green-ville American Legion Post in their monthly meeting last Tuesday that the Israel of today is still the nation that is special to God, just as it was during Biblical times. The Jewish people of Israel today are still "God's Chosen People," according to "the everlasting covenant" made by God with Abraham some four thousand years ago.
Snyder is also a U.S. military veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Korean War.. Snyder completed a nine-months-long course in microwave radio at Ft. Monmouth, N.J., graduated at the head of his class, and then was assigned to serve as an instructor. He also served for 21 years as a Christian missionary in Liberia, West Africa, and in Antigua, West Indies. Following that he served as a mass communications professor at Liberty University for 17 years and at North Greenville University for five years. He retired in 1998, and began writing for The Times Examiner in 1999.
County Republican Leadership Driving out Tea Party Conservatives
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Conservative Input Virtually Shut Out of Last Two Meetings
“Establishment” Republicans are now clearly in charge of the County Executive Committee. With the election of Attorney Chad Groover chairman, in a matter of months, Tea Party presence that one year ago had a strong presence in the Executive Committee has been driven out or quit in protest. The remaining few have been silenced by the chairman.
Veteran party leaders who have worked to keep Greenville County out of the clutches of RINOs (Republicans in Name Only), are becoming discouraged .
Reward Offered for Flag Vandal Arrest

Greer Residents “Devastated” by Desecration of American Flag on Lighted Pole In Upscale Neighborhood
On Wednesday, November 26, the day before Thanksgiving, Joe Barnett and his wife awoke to find their American and South Carolina flags cut from their twenty-foot lighted flag pole. They found the flags torn and on the ground. The American flag had been cut from the stars to the end of the third white stripe form the top.
The couple were devastated by what they found in their yard, because someone(s) had not only trespassed their private property, but had desecrated the American flag in this manner.
The incident was reported to the Greer Police Department and an award of $500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the one(s) responsible.
This vicious and premeditated property destruction and flag desecration is especially hurtful for the Barnett family as their son is currently serving his country in harms way.
He Did It!

Nikita Kruchev boasted that the United States would be destroyed from within. Barack Obama arrogantly bragged that he would fundamentally transform our republic. Both are on the verge of being proven correct.
Few Americans believe the current national Republican leadership has the wisdom, will or desire to reverse the Obama agenda. That leaves divine intervention as the only hope for future generations of Americans to remain free.
Two historic events took place in the United States earlier this month. Voters overwhelmingly rejected the Democrat Party, their President and the policies of their government. Republicans were given control of the Senate with a comfortable majority and they were given an increase in their majority in the House. This remarkable achievement gives the Republicans a probable “last” chance to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States from being destroyed by “enemies, foreign and domestic.” They have taken a solemn oath to do so. Now we will see if they have the wisdom and backbone to keep their word and live up to their oath of office.

Frontline Ministries Holds 20th Anniversary Banquet
- By Jeff West
Frontline Ministries and Exodus Mandate held its 20th Anniversary banquet on Friday night, November 14 at Brookland Baptist Church in West Columbia. The event was well-attended by a large crowd of approximately 240 people. The celebration commemorated twenty years of Rev. E. Ray and Gail Moore’s ministry to promote Christian schools and homeschooling. Frontline Ministries was co-founded by Ray Moore and Lee Adams. God blessed the Moores with the foresight to homeschool their own children forty years ago to escape the indoctrination of the anti-Christian agenda promoted by government schools. Seeing the success of their own efforts, they started their own ministry to educate and encourage other Christian couples regarding the importance of providing a Christian education for their children.
Now we Know: Lying is Progressive Public Policy
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
MIT Professor Jonathan Gruber may be the last truthful Progressive Democrat. He has stated and even boasted that people who passed and supported the Obamacare Law were “duped.” Now that the law is being implemented, Gruber, a $5.9 million architect of the “big lie” implemented by Obama and the Democrat Congress, is being shown in videos explaining why it was necessary to lie to get the bill passed and advocated by the liberal media and Obama supporters.
This Obamacare insider understands the typical Obama supporters and the well-meaning ignorant voters who are too complacent to read factual information such as appears on these pages each week. Instead they act and vote on emotional appeals by lying Progressives who prefer that title to “liberal” or “Communist.”
Gruber stated at the University of Pennsylvania: “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. Call it the stupidity of the American voter, or whatever. But basically, that was really, really, critical to getting the thing (Affordable Care Act) to pass.”
President Threatens to Give Amnesty to Millions of Illegal Aliens
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Constitutional Crises Expected if Threat Carried Out
Just back from his controversial trip to Asia where he made a lopsided deal with China on the environment that will punish American businesses and penalize financially American consumers, President Obama has threatened to unilaterally and unconstitutionally grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants as early as this week.
The administration has already created a legacy of lies and deception to win elections and pass legislation. It, therefore, would not be difficult for Mr. Obama to sign an Executive Order granting amnesty to millions of new Democrat voters. Even if the Executive Order were declared unconstitutional by a future president or the Supreme Court, politically and practically, it would be virtually impossible to reverse such an action.
Chuck Baldwin Presents the Liberty Church Project
- By Josiah Magnuson
Previous Constitution Party Presidential nominee and long-time pastor Chuck Baldwin challenged the audience at the Scriptorium in Taylors on Wednesday and Thursday, November 12 and 13. His topic was the failure of the American church to confront evil in society and politics, and how to build new local fellowships that will stand up for truth in all areas of life. In particular, Dr. Baldwin emphasized the need to break free of the shackles of 501(c)3 “tax exempt” status with the IRS, and presented his new Liberty Church Project for that purpose.
On Wednesday evening Dr. Baldwin told the powerful story of the “Black Robed Regiment” in America. The preaching – and practical leadership – of pastors like Jonas Clark, Peter Muelenburg, and others, was an essential element in the War for Independence. If America is to be reclaimed, we must see a return to courageous leadership from the pulpit.
Delegation Hears Reason for Vietnamese-American Memorial Monument
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
The Upstate Vietnamese-American community and United States veterans of the Vietnam War have worked together for months to develop a concept and a scale model of an appropriate memorial to honor the American and Vietnamese military personnel who fought side-by-side in an effort to preserve the freedom of the Vietnamese people.
Factual history shows that although the military won the war, a weary United States Government abandoned the effort and the Vietnamese people to fend for themselves against an oppressive Communist regime.
Members of the Vietnamese military and others who worked with Americans along with family members were imprisoned in “reeducation” work camps until they proved their loyalty to the Communist regime or escaped by boat at sea or to an adjoining country.

Republicans Can No Longer Blame Harry Reid for Failing to Repeal ObamaCare
- By Jane M. Orient
The time for Republican self- congratulation is over, and the work needs to begin. It appears that the majority of the voting population recognizes that our country is in dire condition. Time is running out to fix it. Are Republicans going to work for our country, or just shift money around to different special interests?
It is not reassuring that some Republican Party strategists think they won because they purged controversial candidates who might make a campaign gaffe—and who might upset the ruling elite’s agenda if they got elected. Or that Democrats seem confident that Republicans will “work together” with them to continue the Progressive agenda—or else Obama will do it all by himself.
True Goodness Comes Only From God
- By Winston McCuen - Ware Shoals, SC
A recent letter writer claimed that "People care about others and have high moral character outside of religion."
Several weeks ago another writer in the News claimed that people can have goodness without God. Both of these writers are dead wrong.
A person who is spiritually unregenerate is not able to not sin. This means that an unregenerate person sins continuously and without interruption in thought, word and deed. Therefore, a truly good thought, good word or good deed from that person is an impossibility. The motive behind every thought, word, and deed of such a person is always tainted by sin. But a person in the unregenerate state is often driven by sins like pride, vanity, and the like to appear good to others. But this supposed or apparent goodness is a mere farce or counterfeit, and the unbelieving and therefore unregenerate person who claims to be a good person is merely an impostor.
Given Another Chance
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
God has blessed America AGAIN! A majority of voters last week rejected the Socialist, Communist, Islamic policies of President Obama and the current anti-American destructive direction of the Democrat party.
The challenge now is for elected Republicans and the RNC to stand firm on the Constitution of the United States and lead the nation in the direction envisioned by the founders and demanded by the voters on November 4, 2014.
The election results and the severe beating given to Democrats have “pushed Obama in a corner” and made him irrelevant. His ego and the Democrat leadership cannot accept that and will become very confrontational. Their first initiative will be on amnesty for illegal immigrants, called “Immigration Reform.”
